The ATTO Xtend SAN iSCSI initiator allows Macintosh OS X users to tap into the benefits offered by iSCSI. With Xtend SAN, Mac OS X servers, workstations and laptops can directly communicate with iSCSI-ready storage devices over an existing Ethernet network. By tapping in to the power of iSCSI, Mac users can network multiple host and storage devices together in a Storage Area Network (SAN) at a fraction of the cost and complexity of Fiber Channel. Additionally, since iSCSI utilizes familiar Ethernet infrastructures, existing IP expertise can be leveraged, helping to ease the time and effort associated with integration.
