In response to market demands for longer run-time, lighter weight, and longer battery life spans, RMS is introducing a new High Efficiency DC power system, the TrippLite HC150, and a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) 40A battery
A high efficiency power supply combined with the capabilities of a Lithium chemistry delivers high benefits to the end user due to:
Charge time - It charges the battery more than twice as fast as it would charge a SLA battery (it takes 2 hours to charge a 40A LiFeP04 battery vs. 5.5 hours for a 55A SLA battery) because the nature of the Lithium chemistry allows for a higher charge current which means faster charging.
Longer uptime – one hour of charge time of LiFeP04 provides much longer run time than one hour charge time of SLA would provide.
Less restricted charging behavior – Lithium chemistry allows deep discharge or inconsistent charge without degrading the battery capacity
