Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, but for a short period of time I have owned three of these units, and just ordered a fourth. For work I need the flexibility of cordless and this comes closest to what I need. I also had the Calisto Pro phone, which eventually failed to hold a charge even with new batteries. So if you purchase the CT14 just keep in mind that it will eventually need replacement is probably a shorter period of time than you would imagine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Plantonics CT-14 I purchased this product and followed the installation instructions and charge d the unit over 24 hours but the unit never came on. I spoke with the Technical Dept. and a replacement was sent and the new replacement never worked either. At this point I returned both units top Plantronics for a refund. Unfortunately this particular unit did not work for me.

I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for 2 consistent problems: Headset and battery lifespan. Plantronics had lots of time to fix these issues and has not. However, still better than other products.

I love the phone itself, but I can't understand why they make the battery so impossible to install. The connectors are tiny, almost microscopic, and fit into this tiny connection, also, microscopic.

Great range from the base, excellent audio quality, very compact. Only wish the phonebook was a little easier to use and three way calling was available. Highly recommend it!

The other phone which is same but was a CT12 I like to it was a little smaller sad to see it discontinue I can not find the phone any where. I'am just hoping this one does not discontinue. Great range, functionality, ease of use, and dependability. I've no intention of switching to another phone. And no, I don't want a wireless device attached to my head or ear, which is another reason I like this phone so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Phones We have been using a Plantronic phone since the late 80's early 90's. These phones are the most comfortable phones that I have used. They are easy to program and people have commented on how much better they can hear me than a regular phone and I can certainly hear them better. The only thing that I have a complaint about is the lack of loudness of the ringer. If I am in another room I can not hear it but that is OK because I Love My Phone.

But as more and more of my calls are SKYPE, LYNC, etc. I have had to add a RJ11 to USB adapter (e.g. Skypekey, Yealink USB-B2K). Would be very nice if they offered a model like the CT14 but with a base station that had both a phone and a USB connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased I've had the CT-14 for at least 15 years and it works fantastic. I like everything about it. I experienced the issue where the cord plugs into the phone but it was due to abuse by one of my kids not because of a design flaw. This is a small compact unit and should be handled with care. I either put it in my shirt pocket or clipped it to my belt and when it rang it was very easy to answer. I finally wore the phone out due to age. The only reason I don't have one now is I became disabled and cannot afford the phone. I would recommend this phone to anyone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low Speaking Volume I use this phone for business calls. Each time I use it people remark that they can’t hear me loudly enough (doesn’t happen with other phones). Also, dialing is a real problem. The tiny buttons make it difficult to dial and I’ve given up on it.

Lately only refurbished models have been available. I wish that Plantronics would update this model with Bluetooth and more comfortable headphones.

My recent purchase of a replacement battery went smoothly and it lasts for more than 500 hours without recharging. I could not be happier with the product or the service. Well done, Plantronics!

I love it while it works, and get about 3 years of minimal, everyday use before I start having connection problems. The features are all great and work great, and then just stop, but always after at least 3 years of fantastic use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phonebook Fail! The CT-14 is fine for me, except the phonebook only allows numbers up to 20 digits. This is a huge product management failure. How can a phone company not understand that with conference dial codes these days, 20 digits is not nearly enough? Now I have to enter my own and my colleagues conf codes manually when I can automate this even on my cell phone. This is a bizarre shortcoming on an otherwise good phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phone/Headset Connection When new the phone is great! The weakest part is the connection point where the headset cable inserts to the phone. This always breaks down over time. I have been using this phone for many years. Never a problem with the cradle, headset, battery life, talking distance or dial touch buttons. I have had four of these and its always the same problem, the connection. The connection should extend two inches out of the unit. This would allow it to be more flexible. Can't wait for my replacement to arrive. Make Your Day Great!

I do have cel phones etc but the portability of that dial pad with the excellent battery life and the solid range that does better than those other ip (wifi) or Bluetooth headsets. I have an RJ11 connection with an Ooma. This unit is solid. Only reason I was out here was to check Plantronics still made these. Only suggestion I have is when they do get around to updating this is please keep the same concept. RJ11 in with a decent dial pad and good earphones. Maybe a water/shock resistant model with a touch pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product for the price I bought this product about two weeks ago, and just started to use it. I like the headset which is very comfortale and light, with a mute button. And people on the other end can hear me clearly. The only thing I'm not too comfortable is that the volume doesn't go low enough. So, everytime I push the talk button to dial, the dial tone is high where it hurts my ear. But, overall it's duable, and I'm happy with it.

The range is unbelievable. The base is small enough to fit in your pocket; I didn't have much luck w/the belt clip. The keypad is very easy to use w/a comfortable feel. I know it's very durable because I've dropped it many times.

However, the connection where the headset meets/plugs into the phone is weak in design. I am replacing this unit for the 3rd time in 10 years. This connection degrades because of tension caused by mishaps. Like the unit though. Need to fix this weak area.

The phone does everything I need it to except 3 way calling. The microphone on the headset was glitchy, and my collegues said I sounded tinny and weak. I reported this problem to Plantronics, and they replaced the phone very quickly. Absolutely great service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not a good experience I have had this phone less than 1 year and in addition to connection drops where the display shuts off and then restarts while you are on a call, puts the call on hold and then finally allows you to unhold and try to salvage your phone call, it has altogether died as of today. I had the connection drop and restart happen on several very important phone calls and it was quite embarrassing as it happened 2 or 3 times in sequence. The concept & design is good but the product itself is seems cheaply engineered. The headset unplugs very easily from it's base which happens while you are on calls and is very annoying. The clip is not good and keeps the phone snug only if you are wearing jeans...otherwise it comes undone or falls too easy. It was overall a hassle to use if you are on the phone often and get up to move around frequently.

Good for many conference calls while working from home; or just while yakking with friends so I can get To Do list things done. Features are great and very interpretive. Just have to remember not to let it fall off when it's clipped to me. Tile floors are merciless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT for home based business I am on the phone for up to 12 hours a day and this phone is an absolute workhorse, they last and last, are durable, the clip leaves something to be desired as had the headset, which in a two year span I have replaced about a dozen time and each of those replacements I have had to have replaced.  However, I have been told now after being told for two years that there is a new replacement headset and I am over the moon, I can't wait to get it and fall in love with my phone all over again!

I absolutely love it, but the cord became unstable---I had to hold it in a certain position after the three years to get transmission; people could hear me, but I was unable to hear them. The warranty is only for one year. I recommend with reservations; if one knows the product will require replacement in a few years time, it's fabulous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I've Used This Off and On for 15 years I bought this the first time I began working from home, since I needed hands-free to work while teleconferencing. Four years later, we put this away when we cancelled our landline. Fast forward 11 years to 2020. We need a landline once again, so we took it out of the box, plugged it in to charge and it works as well as it did before. This is a testament to the CT14's quality, but it's also extraordinary that it is still a great choice, given how quickly technology changes.

My wife and I use ours in the house, out in the garden, and all the way down in the goat pen. Always works, always clear broadcast/reception. This is the best, most trouble free, headset telephone I've had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phone/Headset Connection Point I bought the CT14 a few years ago. In the last 6-8 months, had problems with the connection between the headset and phone. I saw several complaints on the forum with the same problem. I am purchasing a a replacement today. But, I spoke with tech support to ask if Plantronics had remedied the problem with the phone and he said there were no reports of this problem on the forum. I just reviewed the forum again today and saw 3 reviews with this issue. Please Plantronics, fix this problem. I don't want to have to continually replace this phone due this issue. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clear and comfortable I love this phone. I have never had any problems with reception. My only complaint would be that it needs some kind of wind sock on speaker. If you walk around the house, it sounds like the wind is blowing. Otherwise I have no complaints and would buy this again.

Both older models worked just fine, I simplyd upgraded to newer technology models and passed to older ones on to other family members who, to my knowledge, are still using. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Almost Great. Love almost everything about this phone. Comfortable, good sound quality and insane battery life. But, get this. You can't use the phone to set up a 3 way call. On the cheapest of phones, you can call one person, "flash" the call, then call another person, "flash" the call again and be set up for 3 way calling. It's almost impossible to believe that this phone, from one of the most successful and experienced phone companies in the world, can't do this simple function. Oh well, time to look for alternatives.

I gave up on speaker phone usage for many reasons (annoying to others and confidentiality) as well as the traditional oversized wireless handsets. I wanted a solution that was small and a solid performer. I live on this phone unit! I have my phonebook entries for routinely called numbers and the battery time is impressive. I did replace the headset for one that is a "behind the neck" style. There are some advance features which could be added but for the money this is a solid performer.
