The MicroScanner2 Cable Verifier presents a revolutionary change in voice, data, and video cable testing. It starts by taking results from what was four different test modes and displaying them all at once - graphical wiremap, pair lengths, distance to fault, cable ID, and far end device. What's more, its integrated RJ11, RJ45, and coax cable test ports support virtually any type of low-voltage cable testing with no need for awkward adapters. The end result is reduced test time and technician error. That makes high-quality installations more efficient than ever.

Today's communications technicians have a lot more problems to deal with than just the cabling. They have to rule out a whole host of potential cable and service issues before determining the cause of a connection problem. Is there telephone voltage? What's the polarity? Is there an Ethernet switch at the far end? Is PoE available? MicroScanner2 acknowledges this, giving technicians high power vision to verify today's most common voice, data, and video services. That means faster, more comprehensive troubleshooting.

The Fluke Networks MS2-KIT MicroScanner2 professional kit includes a MicroScanner2 cable verifier and an IntelliTone Pro 200 probe to verify cable functioning of new and existing copper and fiber network installations. The meter displays a graphical wiremap, cable length, cable ID, and distance-to-fault. A tone generator produces digital and analog signals to locate cable or wire pairs. Digital mode locates high-grade cabling, including Category 5e, Category 6, and Category 6a in bundles or at switches, patch panels, and wall outlets. Analog mode verifies Category 3 and below voice-grade cabling, coax, security, alarm, and speaker wiring. VDV service detection verifies media services, including powered 10/100/1000 Ethernet switches, plain old telephone services (POTS) voltage and polarity, and Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) voltage and pairs. A backlit LCD is oversized for clear viewing in a variety of lighting levels, and a rubber holster protects the meter in rugged environments. Copper and fiber testers are used by network technicians to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize performance of copper and fiber optic cabling, hardware connections, and network settings in enterprise networks. IntelliTone Pro 200 probe detects IntelliTone digital signals, rejecting noise and false signals, to locate and trace data cabling on active networks. It detects 500 to 1,200 Hz analog signals to isolate individual wire pairs and trace voice, audio, and video cabling on non-active networks. The probe detects signals at cable racks, in patch panels, and even behind walls, and identifies detected signals audibly and with eight LEDs that light successively as the signal strength increases for prompt isolation of a single cable within a bundle. A sync LED shows battery strength at power-up and confirms reception of IntelliTone signals, and the cable map function allows the probe to validate the cable map on RJ11 and RJ45 connectors, testing continuity and finding shorts, opens, and crossed-pair wiring faults on all four pairs of UTP and STP twisted pair cabling. RJ11 and RJ45 jacks plug into a port on the bottom of the probe. The probe turns off automatically after one hour of inactivity.

Product Reviews
Fluke Networks MicroScanner2 Professional Kit - network tester kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Recently purchased a Fluke LinkRunner AT 2000. Absolutely love this thing, it's made my life so much easier. Doing a re-cable job here at my company, and there's tons of old cat 3 and 4 that has to be pulled out and replaced with cat 6. Couldn't even imagine doing it without this thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic products!Costly yes, but you soon realise that it saves you a lot of time in tracing back cables or finding which switch port they connect to and it then pays for itself with the time you're saving.Definitely recommend them and they're really well built and robust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The standard is all cable testing anything. Love their products, especially when I don't love the wiring work someone's done before me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The absolute best network testing gear in the business. Their gear isn't cheap but it is instantly recognizable and the absolute best. All the features, all the ruggedness. This stuff is really great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fluke Networks produces some of the best network devices on the market. If you're running into a layer 1 issue or running cables, grab one of these to make it a ton easier.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These guys make amazing products. But unfortunately I have to give them a -1 for being a bit too pricy for me and my company. I would though, given the dough, buy their products any day of the week without any further consideration.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I have used Fluke products a few times. Soild products but they are very expensive. If you have a very large complex network they are a necessity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid gear, but expensive. SMBs could be massively more productive with the advanced tools but some cost more than a bank of PCs. Still, you get what you pay for, and no Fluke tool or test equipment has ever let me down.-1 for price.
