Product Reviews
Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 21reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by My colleague and I have been using them for the past year and haven't had any issues with them. Their prices and shipping are great! March 1, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Our office is really disappointed with working with SHI. In 2010 our office spent $14k, and the year before $6k in hardware and software licensing. 2011 there was some issues with our then IT manager who was working with Ryan Carroll at SHI with support for items purchased. And then again in 2013 we had additional problems for support with MS licensing. Once we acknowledged we would not be renewing volume licensing at that juncture, they dropped us like a bad habit. No returned emails or phone calls (Cameron McClure at SHI). Roll forward to 2014 and 2015 we have Mollie Martin and Mollie Bennett soliciting our office again from SHI.In summation, two bad experiences with the reps at SHI (Carroll & McClure) equates to having taken our business elsewhere. Rated 5 out of 5 by I have used SHI on many occasions, and i have found most of their prices to be competitive with other vendors. Their customer service however is first class, I enjoy every interaction with my sales rep. I've even taken a trip to Austin to meet them in person, I would recommend this company to anyone who has ever had to deal with expiring contracts, they have a free tool to monitor any and all contracts that are coming up, regardless if you renew with them. Rated 5 out of 5 by I've been working with SHI for several years through two companies. The account team I work with is excellent. If they don't have or know a solution, they will find one and get you in contact with the vendor as soon as possible. They always get excellent pricing, especially on hardware. February 10, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Got a notice from an OEM that SHI was trying to access our pricing, claiming to be a VAR. They have no relationship with us, nor have we ever reached out to them. They've been cold calling, and have been politely rebuffed. A co-worker telling them we're not making any changes, but we have their contact information if we ever need it in the future. (I'm not that "polite" to keep accepting phone calls. When you ignore me, I'll interrupt you by talking over you, tell you flat out that I'm not seeking additional VARs or bids, then hang up.) But, SHI tried to sneak around us and get pricing from at least one OEM that notified us. What kind of company does that? YMMV, but this behavior is not welcome in a partnership. September 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Been ordering from SHI for several years now and they have come through time and again. Gotten me great prices on some hard orders. Jenzy takes care of business and gets things done for me. January 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I really like SHI and did not hear about them until Spiceworld a year or two ago. I have found them to be very competitive in pricing compared to Dell and CDW. They are also pretty vendor neutral and can get you just about anything software or hardware. The reps are pretty responsive, and they are willing to use the RFQ, which is a must have for me. Rated 1 out of 5 by I've been dealing with SHI off and on for a few years now. It really is like any other large reseller in that it all boils down to the sales rep. A good rep and service is as good as anyone else. A rep who doesn't really care well...we all know how that can be.That being said, a while ago I received this response on a large RFQ I sent out through Spiceworks."SHIWe're sorry, but SHI is no longer participating in the Spiceworks Quote System. Please consider using a different Spiceworks partner in the Quote System or calling your SHI representative directly."Being that I use Spiceworks pretty exclusively for anything requiring multiple quotes... I was shocked. After responding to them asking for confirmation that they were choosing not to quote, they did contact me directly but would only respond through Spiceworks after I insisted they do so or loose out on the chance to quote. To be honest I stopped paying much attention to SHI after that.
