Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for Ethernet hungry gadgets! If you collect enough Ethernet connected gadgets, you will eventually need to get a switch. I consider it an extension cord for the internet. Other the past few years I have amassed two printers, a NAS, three computers, a PlayStation 3 & 4 and an Arlo base station. I had an older Netgear switch that worked ok at 10/100, but I needed more ports and wanted better speed. The TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Network Switch met my needs. After installing the four rubber feet and plugging in the power, I was ready to connect my devices. There are no fans so the switch runs quiet. There are two lights above each port. The left one will be green when connected to a 1,000 Mbps device and will flash when transmitting/receiving data, while the right one will be yellow when connected to a 10/100 Mbps device. There is nothing to configure - just plug and play! I have had no issues. All my devices connected and worked great. This is a great affordable solution when you need more ports. It is backed by a limited lifetime warranty. I have many TP-Link devices (smart switches, wi-fi mini plugs and extenders) and they all work great. They make great stuff! Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good small footprint home switch A good little switch at a very good price. This switch works well and does its job. Very quiet and easy to tuck away. The only real issue is the power block is still way too bulky. Also would be nice to include POE especially if you need to have such a large power brick. Other than that the switch works very well. I have had no issues since setting it up and hope to use it for a long time coming! Submitted as part of a free sample program

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Budget Switch Based on my usage this switch just works! Plugged it in to my router and then added several wired devices near my home base and everything just worked. This is good for a home network that needs gigabit speeds and 4 ports in the main router just isn't enough. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Had no issues with this device, plug and play. I hooked it to a wireless bridge in my media closet so my consoles could be hardwired. My ps4 only has a terrible 2.4GHz antenna in it. I was able to triple my download speeds on it because it's now using the much better wireless bridge's antennas. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent 8-Port Gigabit Switch This is an excellent 8-port switch to expand your network. I needed additional connections to connect some computers and this device works great. I get amazingly super fast speeds and haven't noticed any slow downs at all over the last few weeks. This is a must have for anyone that has a mini network at home and wants to expand their network without ease. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Still Working I found this unit to work well in small non-critical environments. It is not supposed to be a business class switch. It is small, discreet and has no fan noise which made it great for use connecting devices in my entertainment center. I am still not fond of the "power brick" adapter, but the switch that I have came with one that is smaller than other switch adapters I have seen. But you would think after all this time someone would get a clue and make a power adapter that did not use up more than 1 space on your power bar. Bottom line this unit worked for me, I did not see any of the failures others have noted, but I have only been running it for a couple of weeks. Good for home, negotiates gigabit speeds, NO POE, and DO NOT EXPECT to run full gigabit through all ports at all times. This is not the switch for that. Submitted as part of a free sample program.
