The bag i was looking for
This backpack is exactly what I was looking for. I love it. Especially The carrying handle at the top. It is really sturdy feeling and soft to hold. I also like that it has just the right amount of pockets, it doesn’t waste space by putting a hundred pockets everywhere. I use it for walking between classes at my university. I rarely have physical textbooks any more, just my laptop. So, it works perfect for me. However, if I did need to carry around more than a book or two with my laptop, you are going to quickly start running out of space. Plus an added bonus is the two bottle pockets, one for each side. It doesn’t seem like it would have any problem holding any size bottle.

Great backpack
The backpack is very sleek and stylish in design. The color is perfect shade of blue with zip design making it look even better. The material is very sturdy and nice. The bag is big enough to fit my laptop and devices.

Great for work!
I recently started a hybrid work schedule after working remotely for 6 years. I got this backpack and it holds my laptop and notebook and other items nicely. Not bulky, sleek looking. Easy to wear, I usually have multiple bags with me (gym, purse, lunch) and it’s nice to have this sit comfortably on my back.

I love this backpack!
First things first - the design is really good; I like the color and the diagonal zipper. Makes it look modern and stylish. It's also very lightweight, so it does not add unnecessary weight to the things I carry around. There're a lot of pockets, so all my tech gear fits easily! There's even a loop for the sunglasses!

Great Everyday Backpack
I'm going to be honest- I didn't have high hopes for this Targus Transpire Compact Backpack. I usually wear Osprey and other ergonomic, more spacious, travel backpacks. However, this one hits the spot for a commuter backpack. It's compact without sacrificing too much space. It's comfortable and fits my back well for a petite woman. It holds a laptop, tablet, planner, pens, and little knickknacks with ease. I only wish I had a little more space to stuff a jacket in as well. So glad I got to try this backpack! I use it every day now. The blue is also a beautiful color. The best part is the material; it's sleek and smooth, feels high quality and is water-resistant!

Perfect for work travel
Love this backpack it fits my MacBook perfectly. There’s so many compartments that I’m able to fit all my cables that I need for work and when flying it fits perfectly under the seat I front of my with still. Also a great overnight back!

Very nice backpack.
Very well made backpack with a padded compartment for my laptop. I had no worries carrying the backpack knowing my laptop was secure. The pockets are nicely designed and there is also a mesh pocket inside. I love the light colored interior which allows me to see the contents easier.

Great school bag!
My son uses this for school. He has a small laptop he must carry everyday, and I feel like it's extremely protected in this. The fit is great and the padding is secure. He has plenty of room for his books and things along with the laptop.

Targus 15-16" Transpire Compact Everyday Backpack
I absolutely hate bulky backpacks and am constantly hunting for the Holy Grail of compact, well-designed bags that are easy to fill, carry, and look at. This Targus Transpire bag ticks almost all the boxes for me, without too many unnecessary bells and whistles. When they say "compact" they mean the front-to-back depth---it's not necessarily compact in length and width, but the entire bag is only about 3 inches deep. This suits me fine, and if you have ever been smacked by someone's bulky backpack on public transit, you'll understand why it's important to have a back that doesn't project too far away from your body. I wish everyone would be that considerate. I was intending to get the black bag instead of blue, but now that I have the blue, I think it is quite versatile, because the blue is ALMOST black. You have to be in direct lighting for the bag to turn navy blue, but the rest of the time, it basically looks like a cool-toned blue-black.
I usually hate back padding in backpacks (because it adds more bulk) but the modest amount of padding in this bag helps to give it structure and make it less floppy. That's helpful if you need to rest the bag against your leg or chair without it slithering to the floor. It barely adds any weight too, which is nice. My laptop is heavy enough, so I don't want a heavy bag to weigh me down. Targus is a name you can trust, and this bag is a solid entry in the "compact" bag scene.
