Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Television i brought this a christmas gift to me. at first i was disappointed because the picture looked like a cartoon with every thing. then my son showed me how use the controls to manipulate the picture and boy am i glad he did. you must know the recent movies look awesome with this television and no matter how updated your television it is only as good as the connection and input into it! great price for a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Picture is AMAZING... But i bought the 55" tu8000 crystal uhd 4k smart tv to replace a 10-year old not smart tv that the sound was going out on. (mine started cutting in and out) the picture on the tu8000 is absolutely amazing and probably the best i have seen... it is so crisp that sometimes you feel you are right there participating. however, the remote needs some work. the design needs some help and a few more options. the main circle and selection button are too depressed to operate just by hand and i find myself having to look down on the remote to use it properly. and the only other improvement i would make is a better speaker for the tv. the speaker needs a little more power so it doesn't have to be run at half-volume most of the time. overall, this tv is well worth the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right on time for my Playstation 5 i'm really enjoying the new samsung uhd 55' tu8200. i needed a new 4k tv coming from a 50' onn 4k smartv and the improvement is huge. love the picture quality and the 120hz refresh rate is perfect for my ps5. plenty of features that i can use with my samsung galaxy phone. proud of my purchase. next is a 65' or better. appreciate it samsung.

Samsung, despite numerous reviews of backlight failures after 2.5 years at most and a great many MUCH sooner than that, neglects to back their own products. Directing us to spend $300-500 to fix a $400 TV is ludicrous. If it happened after 5+ years, ok, as it's probably time for an upgrade anyway, but two years??? After being a Samsung fanboy for the past several years, I'll never buy another Samsung TV.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Remote unresponsive i’ve had this tv for two months and the remote doesn’t respond to when i try to change the settings on the tv. it works for everything else, but for whatever reason it doesn’t when i press the settings button from the home screen i get no pop up windows to change the brightness, contrast, color, or the different viewing mode. you spend this much for a tv…you’d expect the remote to keep working. especially, if you’ve only purchased it two months ago. i’ve changed the batteries and pulled the plug for 30 seconds and that still didnt work. disappointing purchase. i’ll be going for another brand next time i need another product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The remote for this TV is the worst the tv itself is good but every since i received this tv as a gift i have an issue with the remote. 1: the bottom is rounded, 2: the buttons are to close together. 3: and sometimes you are pressing a button and it does something you didn't request. example trying to turn down volume and it raises the volume. i do not usually leave reviews for things but when it is something that is irritating everyday i felt i needed to share.

SAMSUNG WENT DOWNHILL. worst tv ever! if it seems slow or you're watching netflix and the screen goes black and returns to cable tv immediately call samsung!!! this was going on since the first month i had it and i stupidly assumed it was an xfinity, wifi, or netflix issue.. it is a samsung tv issue!!! finally after 12 months and 3 weeks (just out of warranty) the tv screen went totally black. if you want costumer service from samsung plan on making yourself available for a technician 4 different times because they won't show up for their 5 hour windows and if they do show up they won't have the parts to fix the tv. loved my previous samsung tv but they got popular and went downhill fast!

Black lines started showing up across the screen after 14 months of use, and now having power issues. It won’t turn on at all. Constantly boot looping. Had to grab my 17 yr old RCA that still works perfectly. Needless to say, I’m switching brands.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All features to work. the voice assistant feature quit working. bluetooth not picking up wireless devices . never could get our sound bar to work with the remote. a technician came to replace a board so that the voice assistant would work. that did not solve the problem. we are still waiting for repairs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good TV while it works (which is not very long) i'm very disappointed with my purchase - my tv stopped working without any reasonable explanation. when i contacted samsung to request a repair, i was told that the total cost of getting it fixed would be around $1,200, more than a brand new tv. i bought the tv in feb 2018, about four years ago, which means that the warranty expired. but still, i'd expect a high-quality product to last a lot longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TV screen shows large black spots after a year wen i bought this tv, i thought the tv was a great buy. picture quality, sound quality and overall ease of use was great. however, problems started showing up after a year. the warranty that comes with this tv is for 6 months. the main problem: black spots all over the screen. since this happened after warranty, repairing will be out of my pocket. this was my third samsung tv and i love samsung products. but, this will be the last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lots of broken features the 4k picture is great. i love how it renders video games, tv shows and movies. unfortunately, i am having no luck utilizing the airplay or stream from phone features. these haven’t worked since i pulled the tv out of the box. i’ve read other users experiencing the same thing on this forum, and i have tried different resolutions, but still no luck. luckily i held onto my chromecast and other streaming devices. overall kind of disappointing, the picture quality isnt enough to make up for the non working features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible Refresh Rate we've had this tv for about 6 months. it's our 3rd samsung in the house along with two other older models. the refresh rate on this tv is horrible. the picture gets grainy and pixilated whenever there is the slightest action in whatever we are watching. and by action, i mean like someone walking. the picture is always having to catch up with the scene. the store salesman said it's because i use a streaming tv service instead of traditional cable or satellite. the latest technology tv should work on the latest technology delivery system. very disappointed with the downgrade. as a side note, i don't like samsung telling me what apps i have to have on my tv and in what order they appear. i own the tv, i didn't borrow it. i should be able to customize it the way i want it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An actually smart TV (rewriting to fix capitalization): my wife and i are pleased. setup was easy with on-screen instructions, and we now have access to more entertainment than we ever wanted. we can adjust the picture and sound precisely, but with the narrow viewing angle, i lose a little color and sharpness in my recliner off to the side. bluetooth lets me use earbuds at 3 a.m., and the remote's voice-capability lets her avoid button-hunting. the intuitive remote guides us through its functions. but we still must use our cable remote to record in advance, and our speakers' remote to control their volume. we have little use for the smart things iphone app or for ambience wallpaper. but altogether, we're happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from World Class Display And Functionality pros: outstanding display clarity the set handles varying resolutions and streaming rates well, and adjusts to varying ambient light settings impressive internal tv sound. at 20 watts a channel that this set is rated at seems to be plenty. loved the fully functional remote with very few buttons to confuse the operator. with auto hdmi switching on the tv, most hdmi devices now will switch the tv for you when you activate them. three hdmi and two side usb ports allow for great versatility. value per buck was another reason, i like this tv. cons: being an ota tv fan, the ota tuner lacked the feature to add channels without a total erasure and reprogram of the tuner. as a result, one has to completely re-scan every time one moves the antenna. definite irritation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An actually smart TV my wife and i are well pleased with our new tv. spending a bit more for 8 series features was worth it. setup was easy with on-screen instructions, even for our baby boomer brains. we can adjust the picture and sound precisely, and we now have access to more entertainment than we will ever want. we really like the bluetooth connection and the one remote's voice capability. the remote is intuitive enough to guide us through its functions. but we still have to use our cable remote to record programs in advance, and use our external speakers' remote to control their volume. we have found little use for the smart things iphone app and were annoyed that it has a pay subscription. altogether, we're happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good picture, lots of free channels we purchased these for our vacation rentals, the setup is not good for a business. we had to create an amazon account just so we could have alexa voice recognition on the tv; which is really a must with the streamlined remotes that have no number keypad. you need a business setting and some numbers on the remote. we bought one that had the numbers on it and from a users perspective it is much easier. i had all kinds of trouble setting up the first one, it literally took me hours because the cashe got corrupted and it didn’t empty from just turning off the tv - i had to unplug it for it to clear. add that to learning the difficult interface while using the numberless remote and you have a recipe for frustration. probably good for personal use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant colors, sharp images an average tv watcher, i like that the colors are vibrant and images sharp. streaming sound is loud and clear; regular tv requires a higher volume setting. setting it up was very easy, and the tv talks you through it. what i don't like is that it is easy to turn on features you do not want and it is time-consuming to find out how to turn them off -- like audio description of the visual action. the technology is excellent for accessibility for hearing and vision impaired. i wish it came with a printed guide. i am older and like printed instructions for reference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great TV great tv, great price. extremely clear picture. i wish i could make the picture brighter. there just does not seem to be a setting. i also had better luck using the samsung app on iphone than the "mini" remote. a real full featured remote would be more useable. features are fantastic, love the smart parts, especially built in apps to netflix, apple tv, etc. everything works really well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great TV, but... i purchased my tv in august and noticed that the screen would flash a bar of colored lines on the right hand side of the screen periodically as i was watching tv. i returned to the place of purchase to exchange for a new one and it did the same exact thing in the same exact spot. after several phone calls to samsung technical support, they finally sent a technician to my home and after their second visit, they replaced several parts on the tv. since then, no issues. i would hope that samsung corrects this issue so others don’t have to go through what i did to fix a brand new tv. outside of that, i have no issues. tv screen is very clear and i love samsung plus tv. we are cord cutters, so this was a plus for us.

After that point, it started ‘boot-looping’ every 3 minutes - screen freezing and the tv shutting down then restarting. The timing was such that I could not perform a factory reset - 30% into the factory reset, the tv restarted. My prior review was blocked because the rules prohibit certain types of discussion, so I’ll say this - I’m not confident at all in the Samsung brand. I attempted to alleviate my issues and wasted 2 weeks instead of doing what I should have done initially, which is to exchange for something else. Great value, if it worked. Too good to be true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Buyer Remorse bought 55tu8000 for media room. set up and began using new television. shut off tv for evening and tried to turn on next day using remote as well as power button and tv would not turn on. had to unplug tv and plug back in for tv to work. again turned off tv using remote and tried to turn tv on again using the remote the next day. tv again would not turn on via remote or power button. again had to unplug and plug tv back in for tv to turn on. tv has now worked properly the next two days but i now have no confidence in tv and probably will be returning it. tried to find diagnosis on internet and samsung chat with no luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great TV !!! i walked into our costco and was stunned by the picture i saw on one of the tvs there. it was so amazingly clear and lifelike. that was a year ago, but i took a picture of it just so i would remember which tv to buy. prior to christmas i was tv shopping and surveyed every review i could find for this tv. the reviews were great. it was a clear no brainer. a week later my old tv gave out and you know exactly what i did! we love this tv. so easy to set up! beautiful picture quality. well made, great remote and smart!! love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent picture but dim; poor support. per the headline, the overall picture was sharp and nicely colored, but not at all bright. more important to me was the ability to mirror my pc (win10), either wired or wireless. the samsung app was useless, seems geared to other samsung products, "solutions" on line didn't work. chatted with samsung support, after long wait, reset, etc. eventually told me mirroring/casting was not supported(? -hard to believe). theoretically connected me to higher level support which never appeared. tv returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap Insignia outperforms this tv ive replaced an insignia non-4k television with this samsung, thinking i was getting a massive upgrade. i cant tell you how disappointed i am. after a whole week of trying different settings, googling every possible set up, this 4k trlevision still doesnt have as good of a picture as the insignia with which it replaced. even worse, the television doesnt play well at all with any exterior android box. i use the nvidia shield which worked perfectly with every other television ive owned. with this television, the picture coming from the nvidia shield is dull and the picture “jumps” every ten seconds. i bough the most expensive hdmi cables possible to see if that would make a difference. nope. this is my first and last experience with samsung.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible experience this "smart" tv is an absolute nightmare to set up. if you plan to use a home theater you should probably have a pro install. after an hour or so of swearing i discovered i couldn't play any apps through the home theater without either bluetooth or a digital optical hook up. the "universal" remote is anything but. very disappointed. picture is no better than entry level.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Purchasing a Samsung TV from Dell TV is fine, working with Dell is confusing. Nobody can answer the question about extending the warranty. I also purchased a 65" Samsung, same TU8000 from Samsung direct and was easily able to communicate with them about extending the warranty to 4 years which I did.

Con: set's legs require WIDE stand or buy a pedestal stand or wall mount; Bluetooth output is a BIG PLUS, especially since one can still control the speakers as usual. But its audio is not synched with the picture, and it is not automatic; it requires specific (remote control) selection every time the set is turned on (a minor nuisance). OVERALL, I'm pleased and glad I bought it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has a great picture and works very well. Everything works great on the TV except for one minor flaw. It does not have an adjustment to limit volume level. So... while watching a program the dialog will get quieter and quieter. I'll adjust volume up until I can hear, then suddenly the program may change and I get blasted out of the room. It comes on so loud it scares the dog. My older Samsung TV had a "Night mode" that would keep the volume within a certain range. I loved that feature and wish this one had it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this TV! i absolutely love my new samsung smart tv. i owned a different brand 52" tv i bought in 2006. the lamp burnt out so i decided to upgrade to a more up-to-date tv. the color compared to my previous tv is so crystal clear and sharp. i am not really tech savvy. best buy did not communicate with me that they canceled my set up appointment. i ended up having to set it up myself or i would have to wait another 2 weeks to have a tv to watch. i found the process pretty easy to follow. i was really proud of myself being able to accomplish without help. the remote is easy to navigate too. definitely recommend this!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SW malfunction after 1 day i was pretty happy with this tv but after 1 day the picture developed a green tint, so after trying obvious adjustments unsuccessfully, i tried the next step and reset the device to original settings. the tv then got stuck in a reboot loop. before the reset could complete it would power off then back on and start the reset again, repeating infinitely. luckily target exchanged it even though i had already disposed of the box. this time i bought a sony in the same price range. it looks and feels like a better product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesnt work well with apple products :( apple airpods pro won’t stay connected and constantly says its connected but the volume doesnt work. description says it works well with apple homekit - but it doesn’t. i can’t get homekit to even recognize the samsung tv. i bought it for apple product compatibility and feel decieved since it is not easily compatible with apple as they say it is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tv but has some issues a beautiful tv with a very sharp, clear picture. the issue we are having is with the sound stopping for 5 or 6 seconds, and then starting up again. no loss of picture. in googlingbother samsung owners i am seeing we are not the only ones this is happening to. samsung, you obviously know about this so resch out with a solution. other than this daily irritation the tv is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not user friendly this smart tv is loaded with features that the average person can not use. the instructions are vague and assume that you understand how to navigate between apps and your cable providers content. the renote controller is very small, difficult to handle and not intuitive. navigating the complex features of this tv is frustrating with a small remote that has buttons that are not labled. at this point i gavevup on using the built in features and just rely on my xfinity cable remote controller. unless technology is user friendly it has little or no real world value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture! the picture is very impressive for the price for this tv. very easy to set up. was able to add my bose sound system and apple tv with very little issue. the only issue we did have was that we needed and output for a sound system that used banana plugs. this tv does not have support for this. the sound system is for my wife who is hard of hearing. other then that i would highly recommend this tv.

Foggy spots in blacks. if you like foggy spots in the black bars below and above your image when watching widescreen i recommend this tv. there were multiple foggy spots on the first one i bought from best buy. i decided to give it another chance and got a replacement, which still had a very noticeable foggy spot in the bottom area. since my neighbor downstairs has the exact same size and model of tv i tested hers and it had no foggy spots at all. so, i exchanged it for yet a 3rd tv from best buy, which had the same foggy issues in the blacks as the others i had bought. i returned it and got a brand new qled instead.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this TV! beautiful picture, i am retired and was concerned if i would have trouble learning how to use all the features, but have not had any issues. my grandson set it up for me in a flash. love that i can mirror from my ipad and phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have owned a lot tv's, sound bars, dvr's, etc. samsung products have been part of our lives for a long time. we keep buying them, because they work. when we've had a problem, they've always tried to help fix it. when it wasn't fixable, like my older tv that just broke...i bought this one and the journey begins again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great picture and features i bought this tv to replace an old samsung plasma tv that i bought about 12 years or so ago. that tv still works great so i put it in the bedroom and will continue to use it. the picture quality and features of the tu8000 are amazing! the screen size is perfect for my space and it weighs almost nothing compared to the old plasma which i hated having to manipulate because it always took 2 people to move it. i didn't think i would use the smart option since i have an apple tv, but the setup and ease of operation has won me over. i can even send my apple device displays directly to the tu8000 through the built-in apple airplay. you won't be disappointed in this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WORST TV EVER this tv is by far the biggest piece of crap ive ever purchased. moved tv back in to original box, with styrofoam to store and got back out of box few momths later and it doesnt work. no marks, blemishes, scratches, etc and screen just has lines. had tv for 6 months and samsung says no warranty do to “physical damage”. physical damage with no physical damage! samsung customer support is a joke! should of bought another sony (which i will now) as their products last and they actually know what customer service is. never buy a junk samsung product ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connections issues tv would not recognize receiver thru hdmi, optical input or rca. optical input plastic broke off when removing connection and will no longer sit for secure connection. samsung customer service will not cover repairs. very troubling, not a good quality tv.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Backlight issue Bought this TV at Christmas 2020. TV was on for a maximum of 20 hrs as it was in a area not much frequented. Back lights went out in Jan 2023.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY Bought this TV (55”) and it didn’t even last 3 years! It’s stuck on a reboot loop and past warranty. I was told it would be cheaper to purchase a new TV than to repair this one. It’s crazy how cheaper TV manufacturers have better warranty coverage than Samsung. I will never buy another Samsung TV.
