Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Speeds and Useability The 980 pro operates well when installing and transferring games/files. Also does great installing it into the PlayStation 5. The heatsink portion of it is a little confusing to me. I average around 45-50c when using this M.2 drive when my other drive which runs the operating system averages 35-45 without a heatsink. I'm no expert so I can't really why or how.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice size, easy installation , great price I bought this strictly for my PS5 as it doesn't come with enough space out the factory so I purchased the Samsung 980 pro / with Heatsink and absolutely lovee it , now I can download all the games I want on my playstation 5 and not have to pick between 3-4 of them to have on the system in turn my PS5 has all it's memory available so it can perform just that second quicker which in the gaming world is a lot of time , I highly recommend this product to anyone especially ps5 owner... Also I love Samsung and try to get all products Samsung when available

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price, easy installation , dependable I bought the Samsung 980 pro w/ heatsink when my playstation 5 ran out of memory with 3-4 games installed in it , an when I wanted to play another game I had to choose which one to delete , no gamer should evee have to deal with that . So after I bought and installed the 980 pro w/ heatsink my playstation became .. a Playstation I have multiple games installed into my PS5 now an my PS5 runs a lil faster with it installed I highly recommend this product

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avoid, Samsung warranty service is the worst Do Not Buy like others have mentioned. These drives shipped with a faulty firmware that would brick themselves with no way to fix them. These drives are locked into a readable state, but you cant delete them. Making your data fully at risk if you send this in. Samsung will only authorize gold contacts to be scratched, leaving your data still vulnerable. I want to destroy my drive and provide evidence. Not an option according to support. I fear these will be refurbished instead of destroyed.

I was able to install/allocate my D:/ with no problems and was able to migrate my games super fast from one drive to the other

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Responsive, Fast ,Reliable,& easy Install I have 4 Samsung M.2 SSD The 980 4.0 1Tb with the heat sink also I'm running it on a MSI 570 MPG gaming MoBo that has 2 M.2 SSD Slots one being a 4.0 and the other being a 3.0 I’m running the 980 in the 4.0 slot giving it the best possible performance and it sure does make for faster uploading and downloading it is backwards compatible so I could run it in the 3.0 slot but doing this would limit the SSD to the 3.0 performance and not be running at the maximum capacity speeds it could run at which is why I have the 970 in the 3.0 slot but this is about the 980 so I’ve been running it for around 3 months and it’s truly amazing compared to the 970 or a 3.5 SSD Is night and day like I truly will never go back to using a HD SSD it’s so much faster and easier to install and the download and upload speeds are just crazy fast and I will look into buying the Samsung M.2 990 SSD 1Tb but I’m definitely going with Samsung with there SSD in the future and I do strongly recommend this to friends and family and for those looking to upgrade there PCs in the future and I give it a 5 stars and would give it 10 if there was a choice for it I have 4 M.2 SSD All are Samsung and just make sure what gen M.2 slot your motherboard can run and handle so u get the right one for peek performance like I said they are backwards compatible so if u bought a 4.0 and u only had a 3.0 motherboard it will still work but not at the same speed as the 4.0 slot would preform but if u was goikg to update your motherboard later u could already be ready to run at 4.0 if u had already purchased the 4.0 but also like most motherboards now have 2 ,3 and now even 4 M.2 slots so depending on your setup is how I would go about buying the M.2 that being said the 980 and the 990 are both 4.0 ready so if u want a SSD that’s super responsive really fast and reliable and not as much as the 990 then the 980 is just what u need I’m going to buy another one in the next week or two for my next build it has a built in heat sink so I’ll be purchasing the Samsung 980 2Tb M.2 SSD and if I go with the 990 I’ll let u know the difference between the two

Performance-wise, the 980 PRO is an absolute beast. It reaches the advertised speed which are read speed: up to 7,000 MB/s and write speed: up to 5,100 MB/s. And one of the standout features of this drive is the included heatsink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top of the line product but poor support and RMA Very poor RMA customer service doesn't help and it will be a waste of time. Warranty for me is just a joke. I believe this is a great product it's just Sad there's poor customer service once they get your money. My SSD stopped working after trying to migrate my OS to the same Samsung 980 Pro using the Samsung Magician tool. Support Chat advised me to go back to the store where it is purchased but they said it is not possible for RMA since I took it off from the heatsink. Trying to resolve the issue with Samsung chat Support (which is a good thing we can talk to them instantly) tried to help me troubleshoot the protocol but had the same result (still not detected). they asked me to connect to different machines to check if it was being detected in the bios. used a Mac and Windows machine connected the SSD directly and used a USB enclosure just to prove it's not working. Chat Support asked for my details and mentioned that they would raise a ticket and get an update within 48 hours. just wish to get a confirmation email instantly to reassure you there's a ticket created. Wish this gets resolved there's no sense in having a warranty on a great product

This drive absolutely crushes it. I am bottlenecked only by software and other hardware limitations with these things. 10/10 best bang for your buck.
