Great for PC refreshes!
If you have older machines and would like to breathe new life into them, you cannot go wrong with the Samsung 860 Pro. You can take a 10 year-old machine, replace the spindle drive with this, add a little RAM and make it run like a brand new box!

Samsung makes the best SSDs on the market!
What’s not to like when it comes to Samsung SSD’s? I have quite a few, including the 860 EVO, older 840’s and 850’s EVOs and PROs that seem to last forever, as well as the newer NVMe 960 and 970 drives which are easily the fastest drives on the market. Samsung drives always hit or beat the rated speeds in both the excellent Samsung Magician software and in Crystal DiskMark. Samsung’s free data migration/cloning software is second to none as it works every time, and I even use it to keep current boot drive backups using older Samsung drives. If I could save a few dollars on some other brand, I’d still buy the Samsung because of the level of confidence and benefits of owning them vs. other brands.

Blazing Fast Boot Up
I can't figure out why I was opposed to ordering my new computer with a Solid State Drive instead of a HDD. Perhaps I was leery of the technology. I since replaced the HDD with the Samsung 860 Pro Solid State Drive. Before it to several minutes for the system to boot, now it is almost instantaneous. The overall performance of my system has increased 100 fold. Kudos to Samsung for their continuously innovative products. They made me a believer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Couldn't ask for something better
I got this product as a OS drive for my desktop setup.
I love everything Samsung makes and Im basically a Samsung fan boy so I knew that this would be better than what I was expecting, and I was right to get this when I did!
My PC boots up in a matter of a few seconds, transfer speeds are above expectations, running Photoshop and other heavy hardware dependent programs on it is a breeze. Everything runs so smoothly on this ssd!
The programs that come with it are also very helpful! Allowing for customization of certain things and allowing me to monitor the health and sectors of the device with just 1 click!
I really have nothing bad to say about this product! Samsung makes the best of the best and I wouldn't settle for anything else or anything less than Samsung quality! Excellent Product
This was ordered for a boss of the company and going from a slow IDE hard drive speeds were a major improvement! Everything is lightning fast now!

Speedy and Dependable
I procured two of these SSD to replace the HD in a couple of Panasonic Toughbook C-53 laptop computers. I wanted to speed up the number crunching in some specialized wireless communications engineering applications that I use in my work. They did the job.
An added benefit is that when I travel overseas to unstable locations, I can easily replace the SSD with a sanitized and encrypted drive. Then if my laptop is lost or confiscated, it is only an inconvenience and not a catastrophe.
I highly recommend this SSD.

Better than mechanical
We purchased these as replacements for some bad hard drives. They plug right in to the existing connections without issue. Once powered up you can't hear a thing, quiet. So quiet it might think these are solid state drives, wait, err, these are solid state drives. Nice, no moving parts! No heads to crash into the platter. These things are almost human like, seeing as soon as you use it, it is headed towards a slow and long death. But hey nothing lasts forever and you only find out that these usually outlive the life of the PC you are using it in. So far I have purchase around 20 of these drives and each and every one has preformed flawlessly and without issue. Some end users even say the PC seems like it is running faster. It should after all since it replaced a mechanical drive. Space plenty of it considering my first ever hard drive was 40 megabytes and the size of a 2 slice toaster. With 12,800 times the storage of my first ever hard drive and slightly larger than a credit card calculator; you can't go wrong. I recommend this drive, whether you are looking for a little more zing for the PC with a mechanical hard drive, or looking for something to shove under a door to keep it open. You just can't go wrong.
