I purchase my first Stardust clear Symmetry Case plus Alpha glass screen protector, when my Xs Max was new. Over time, I dropped my phone and sat on it. What got damaged was the case and the Alpha glass. It was time to replace the case and glass. When the new one arrived, I removed the old ones. My phone looked like brand new. Why would I purchase a case that I has to replace? I have used the extra durable OtterBox cases and they hold up for the life of the phone but they are more bulky. I wanted to retain the slim lines of the phone. I would say 2 years life that I got my money's worth.

Not sure how well it protects because I have been a lot more careful with it (not letting my kids hold it. I loved my defender case but decided I wanted something a little less bulky so I went with this one. Not sure if I’m happy with my choice.

I know I haven’t dropped it as I’m extremely careful on handling my phone. Don’t want to get another one so soon but I’m very OCD when it comes to stuff like this. I want my phone case to at least look fresh for a while.

However, do not expect it to offer the same level of protection as defender. The lips are not as deep as it is on defender. Having said that this case should hold well for the odd drop that eventually happens. Quality of materials is very good too. Overall a happy purchase.

Love the shimmer of Stardust! Adds sparkle without looking like a teenage phone. This one for iPhone Xs Max was very tight. i was worried that it was going to break the new screen protector. But once it was on it was fine. My previous Symmetry stardust turned yellow around the soft edges close to the phone so it didn’t look as nice, but still had great protection. I will continue to buy these!

It hardly adds anything to the size of the iPhone XS Max, and to have the strength behind it, is impressive. It is also the first clear case I’ve owned, showing off my beautiful gold toned phone. Usually, regardless of what phone I purchased, it’s always been covered it and I don’t even remember which one I bought! Thanks Otterbox, keep up the good work!

I have previously purchased Otterbox Symmetry cases for my other phones, and since they worked out amazingly for me, I decided to purchase one for my new phone. It's the perfect clear case, and it's still is very protective. One issue I have though is that it's not as protective on the face (which makes it easier to hold and less bulky), but you might need a screen protector. All in all I really like it thanks again Otterbox!

It feels sturdy, thick (but not obnoxiously, and not like it’s made with cheap material like lots of other cases out there, which is nice because it’s quite an expensive case. My only complaint is how difficult it is to put on and it is definitely NOT scratch resistant. However, the purpose is to protect the [very expensive] phone, and I can overlook that if it does the job.

I love the Stardust, the shimmer in it is gorgeous, but the longer it stays on my phone, things happen. The soft rubbery part that goes over the controls on the sides, starts to idk, open. It has happened to BOTH cases I have had.

While I loved the protection it provided, it was pretty bulky from a pocket perspective. I decided to try the Symmetry to see if it could provide comparable protection in a more sleek profile. So far it hasn't disappointed. Does it look as "rugged" as the Defender, no. But it does have a slightly above the phone case frame so the phone sits inside of the Symmetry. I have a glass shield on the phone for extra protection. It's no where near as bulky and fits into pockets so much easier.

I have recently purchased the otterbox clear symmetry case for the iPhone Xs Max. The case is great and does the job at protecting the phone. The reason for the three star review is that it scratches incredibly easier than any other otterbox case that I have, and after only a couple of days of light use the back of the case had multiple scratches, which being clear make them increadibly easy to see against the new phone. So overall great case just a shame about its durability scratch wise considering it’s cost.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection for iPhones I bought this case for my iPhone xs max and love the piece of mind it gives me that if I drop it (which I do quite often) that it will be protected and not sustain any damage. My only concern with this new case and I’ve only used the symmetry on my past iPhones as well is this particular case has a hard time fitting chargers or fans attachments into the charging space. It’s almost like the bottom is a hair too thick or too narrow for the plug to fit tightly in it.

After having it about two months I can vouch for the fact that it does scratch fairly easily, however because of the sparkle you do not notice unless you’re looking for it. If that changes over time we’all see, but I already know that if I ever need to change my case I will be getting another one exactly like this one.

The bumpers aren’t so clear unfortunately, which takes away the beauty of the stainless steel band. I guess you can’t have it all, but I love the case as it’s extremely protective and allows me to show the colour of my phone off. I would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Turns yellow after 2-3 months of use Had this clear case on the iPhone X (2017) and it turned yellow pretty quickly. Since the case is a combination of clear rubber and clear plastic. Only the rubber around the edges of the phone got yellow. The back of the case is clear plastic and didn’t yellow. Just something to think about before you buy this case. I bought this symmetry clear case again for the iPhone Xs Max because I love showing off the color of the phone and it provided great protection from my experience with the iPhone X symmetry clear case. I dropped that phone from high and low and never ever saw damage. I just wish the case wouldn’t yellow so fast and I expect this to happen to this iPhone Xs Max case in the near future seeing as it’s the same exact symmetry clear case as last years just bigger. A worthy note, they did change the click-i-ness of the buttons on this iPhone Xs Max case. They are now much easier to press. Last years buttons on the symmetry clear case for the iPhone X was super stiff and almost impossible to adjust volume.

Over this time I have dropped my iPhone on multiple occasions but every single time the case has stopped any damage happening to my actual iPhone. The case itself isnt too bulky and feels nice to grip in your hand. I would definitely recommend this case.

I’ve gotten a few small scratches since I bought it but I don’t mind it. I like that it is clear because I get to see the phone back and put cute cut outs in it. I have dropped it a couple times and nothing has happened and my little cousins are always playing with it and dropping it and I know I don’t have to worry about it cracking because of this case. It’s a bit pricey but to me it’s worth it. All in all good quality and would buy again.

I really love the protection otterbox gives my phone- but this is second time I’ve purchased this particular case (symmetry clear) and just a few days pass- the back is SO SCRATCHED and I’m not careless with my phone at all. Few weeks pass and the rubber-like material on the sides turns from a nice clear to an UGLY greenish color. I gently rinse and wash this case once a week and still discolors

Very happy with the case and has worked well. Only fault was there were what appeared to be minor scratches on the main face, which was annoying. Made increasing visible as it was a clear case. Not as polished as I had anticipated out of the box.

Also it’s super hard to take off I’m always scared I’ll break my phone doing it. But overall looking at the protectiveness it’s a good case and well worth the money. I would suggest not getting clear if scratches bother you.

Liked the many other Otterbox iPhone cases I've owned over the years, this olne is up to the same high standard I've come to expect from Otterbox products. Perfect fit, the drop protection I need with a slim design and light weight. The only minor issue I have is that I'd like to see better anti-yellowing protection for the case. All the clear Otter cases I've owned tent to turn a bit yellowish after about six months in normal outdoor use. But all-in-all, this is an issue on all clear cases I've owned, Otter or not, and I still find Otterbox ahead of the pack. Thanks!

I am a little disappointed how scratched up the case is after one week of regular use, on and off the table or in and out of my pocket. I have not dropped the phone so that is not the cause of the scratches.

I like to have multiple designs of cases and to change them out regularly to match my clothing or handbag. I think when I take this one off, I may not put it back on regularly. Easy to install and protect the phone without hidding its design. Buttons are perfect responding to user « clicks ». Quick delivery alter ordering my Otterbox case on site. And last point, outstanding customer service ! Bravo ! I’ll buy other cases for my family’s iPhones. Thx Otterbox

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase I bought when I got my new iPhone and I love the way it looks but only three complaints are. Hard to take off witch can be good, scratches easy only noticed because I’m very picky, and finally it’s a little big but it just takes some adjusting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn’t Fit new iPhone XS Max Love Otterbox products, best phone case made today. Symmetry series is the one I like and had one on the past two iPhones that I’ve owned. However, it will not fit on the new iPhone XS Max, not sure about the XS. I didn’t want to force or bend a $1250 new iPhone to make it fit in the case. Maybe it just needs to be redesigned a for a better fit, then I’ll repurchase one. I did return this one and Otterbox customer service was great, hence the 4 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great phone case I got this for my new iPhone Xs max. It feels high quality, not too bulky. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because 10 minutes after I put it on, my case got a scratch. Needs to be more scratch resistant

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointing.. First off, it’s a SUPER snug fit. Took about five minutes of my brawny husband to muscle it in. I assume the phone got scratched in the process, but I don’t want to attempt to remove the case to check. I expect that when I upgrade my phone again next year, it will be sent in with the case still attached. I was also excited for a totally clear case to show off my new gold iPhone Xs Max. However, the edges of this case are not perfectly clear, but are more of a textured, cloudy looking clear. Bummer, since the edges of the new gold phone is what I was especially excited to show off. But in this case, you can barely see it. First time I’ve been disappinted in an Otterbox product. I’ll keep it, mainly because I’m not sure I can get it off my phone to return it. Oh well, hopefully it will keep my phone safe at the very least...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy and durable! This is my second case for my XS Max! This edition feels even more durable. My phone has remained damage free thanks to the otter box case. Not cheap but cute and worth it!
