Rated 5 out of 5 by from Phone protection Have used otter box defender for my iPhone’s for years. They have been on my iPhone 5, 6+, 8+ and now my 11. Have always used for protection against phone damage but now as a senior with arthritis in my hands find it much easier to hold the more substantial phone with the defender on it then the thin iPhone without. Also again feel safer, since I have the a arthritis, that the phone is much safer and less likely for damage if I by accident if I drop it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No longer good for Healthcare workers I have always bought the defender case for my work in a hospital because the ENTIRE phone was covered. I’d take it off and sanitise it after each shift. Now this is no longer an option, and I am not going to risk damaging my screen with harsh disinfectants. In a pandemic year, I cannot fathom why a decision like this would be made. Make a screened and screen less version so that we, the customers, can decide! As a secondary note, now I don’t have waterproof protection when participating in outdoor activity like kayaking.

There is also not a huge demand for extremely tough cases, but Otter Box will always provide an offering for those of us looking for the best protection. Unfortunately there is an additional item needed for these screenless cases. The screen protector has become just as expensive as the case. If you do purchase the one recommended by Otterbox you will surprised by how easy it is to install (with alignment guide and the thickness of glass will offer protection way beyond a case with a built in plastic screen. Enjoy!

But I have to comment that I am super sad that the screen cover is no longer on the phone covers---it is so expensive to have to buy and additional protector for the screen when your cover is so much already. I really think you guys need to re-think this. You are a quality product, but with phone prices rising it is just getting so hard to also have your covers rise in cost too when you consider having to buy an expensive screen cover also. The very least you could offer is a discount or something.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best protection you can get for your phone I've had several Otter Box Defender cases over the last 10 years, and they always live up to the level of quality and protection that I look for in a phone case. I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 because they no longer offer a version that includes a plastic screen protector as part of the case, which I appreciated in the older models. I also don't love how expensive and bulky the case is (even more noticeable on the newer/larger iPhones, but I think those are both necessary and worth it for the level of protection this case provides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expecting Continued Excellent Service Purchased the iPhone 11 Defender Series Pro model with the addition of the Alpha Glass Screen Protector. Putting the Alpha Glass protector was smoother & easier than expected and I think it will wear better & resist scuffing better than the previous "screen protection" portion of the phone case. I also like the exceptionally smooth feel the glass offers when moving the finger across the screen. However, I think for the suggestion of the level of protection in the name, "Defender Series Pro", and its cost, I think the Alpha Glass should be included in Defender Series Pro Case package. I appreciate the "holster" being included in the package. I use it 98% of the time when I have my phone and really like it's "easel" use capability and the capability to clip the phone onto something else for various purposes.

It isn't designed to work well with a thick work belt. I have to constatnly check to see if it has popped off. So, other than the holster not working for me, it's great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Spent a fortune on iPhone insurance, decided to invest in a solid case instead. The edges are "sticky" and give a good grip but a little stubborn sliding into pockets. The buttons work well through the case. Seems like good shock absorbing protection, I added the screen protector to complete the package. The Anker charging pad works fine with the case on. Even though the iPhone is advertised as waterproof, I wish the Otterbox was too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid I usually haven’t liked the iPhone Otterbox cases because of the ‘porthole’ that shows the Apple logo. Thankfully, this case doesn’t have that! The case and clip are both solid, unlike another case and clip I bought from another company. I broke 2 clips in a few months by simply clipping the phone to clip! Cheaply made! The ends on the Otterbox clip that hold the phone in place are much thicker than my previous clip. I would definitely recommend this case and clip!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The latest in a long line of excellence! Otterbox just can’t be beat. The protection, the feel, the classic style. This newest edition is no exception. I sold electronics and phones for 8 years and even now I can’t find anything better. This is the 5th phone I’ve had in an otter box. They have survived sitting on the roof of my car as I did 60+mph, slammed in my trunk door, dropped on every surface imaginable, and flying off my car into traffic. A number of years ago I flipped my Jeep avoiding a crazy driver. As I rolled my phone flew out the window at 45 MPH. The Jeep flipped onto the phone then off. When I stopped I kicked out my windshield picked up my phone (Neither me nor the phone had a scratch on us) and called for help. Two things I’ll always buy, Jeep and Otterbox. Thanks for always being there guys!

It can be a bit inconvenient to insert heapdones or chargers cords. However, I would recommend it because it is a very sturdy case and the stand acts as a great popsocket!

I drove off obviously unaware. I got back home and at that point became aware that I couldn’t find my phone. Started looking for it retracing my actions and realized what I had done. I got back in my car and started driving through the neighborhood looking for my phone honestly not holding out much hope. I got to the highway and there in the middle of it I see my phone cars flying by I had a hard time even getting out there to get it with all the traffic I picked it up starting peeling what I thought was my screen but it was my screen protector, started taking my phone out of the broken case and to my amazement there wasn’t a scratch on it worked perfectly. It had been sitting in the highway for at least half an hour. I will never not have my phone in an Otterbox case it really saved me

I love the design and feel of this case. OtterBox never disappoints. The holster is sturdy and can be used as a kickstand. The case is raised around the camera and the screen; this will protect the lenses and screen from scratches. Overall, I recommend this case if you own an iPhone 11 and want maximum protection.

On accident, my previously owned Iphone was placed on the roof of a car and fell off after I forgot to retrieve. Needless to say, I would not recommend this but the phone was fine after crashing from the moving car. I grown to expect total security from Otterbox's Defender Pro Series of cases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For Ultimate Protection If you're like me, and want a case that accentuates your phone's profile and is protective while also sleek, then this product is not for you. If you're like my brother, who prefers peace of mind and protection from anything and everything, then it's hard to do better than this case. Has a foam backing on the inner case portion to absorb shock from drops, and a pseudo-clamshell style cage for the main case which is then neatly encased in the rubber silicone outer casing. Button cutouts and edges were perfectly aligned. It's definitely heavy and more than doubles the thickness of your phone, but i feel like this could survive getting run over by a car to be honest.

I was surprised to see that there wasn’t a clear plastic covering for the screen. So I guess I have to buy that separately? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Will protect your phone falling off a motorcycle I was out on a little ride earlier and I got to a little straight away and had to scratch the itch so I punched the throttle. At the end of my run I noticed my phone (previously on the phone mount) was gone. I turned around and managed to find my case, the phone had fallen out and was about 30 feet away but the case took the blunt force impact and enabled my phone to survive with nothing but a few scratches on the side, not even a crack. I am now an OtterBox customer for life

This DOES NOT have a screen protector.The photo looked as if it did but it was only the reflection of the back side of the case. Pretty disappointed about that.The case is designed to have slightly higher edges than the screen in order to prevent your phone from smacking flat onto the ground. Individual screen protector costs extra. Otherwise, still a rugged case as far as dropping goes. Just hope I don’t hit the corner of something. Learning to bat my phone away from pointy objects as it falls. Now I know what my cat feels when playing with a mouse.

Otterbox used to provide a screen protector with this expensive case, but apparently, not anymore. A little frustrated that I have to purchase a separate one now. Won't be getting it from Otterbox.

It’s a little bulky in my hand and pocket (I don’t use the holster) but that’s a small price to pay for the superior protection from OB. I do buy separate screen protectors from a different vendor but always come back to OtterBox for this case. Plus, this case has anti microbial properties; that’s a nice feature. ?? (I just wish there were more color options—I’ve had the blue and purple as well!)

Just to be sure I decided to ask the otterbox chat support and after a few times I kept getting different answers so I decided just to try out the case. It protects my phone very well even with the extra room around the camera but that is the trade off for a regular defender without the apple cut out. It really seemed like some of the chat support people didn’t even know what an iPhone XR was, they’re the exact same except for the camera.

He left his phone on the edge of the bed of his truck while getting gas and forgot it there. He then drove 100km/h on the highway to his next destination and did not realize until he got there that his phone had fell off his truck. He came to my work that day and took my phone to use find my iPhone and go find it. It was on the on-ramp to the highway. It was finally retrieved and we all thought it was never gonna work probably because about 50 cars ran over it. But to our surprised it still worked. Yes the camera was shattered and the front screen but it was a miracle that the phone worked perfectly. I will definitely be buying my dad this case for all of his phones in the future

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toughest Phone Case Made!!! Felt I needed to share this. I finished a mowing job and always use my phone for music while working. I laid my phone on the bed of my truck while loading my equipment, then headed for home. About 5 miles down the road I realized I had not gotten my phone from the bed rail so I turned around and drove back. I finally found it using Find My Phone on another cell phone. It had flown off my truck at about 55 miles per hour, across or under a guard rail and into a pile of large rocks. I thought the worst upon finding it but to my surprise there was no damage to the phone other than the glass screen protector was cracked, but no damage to the phone's screen. Case was scuffed up some and don't look great but it sure did save my expensive iphone. Always have and always will use the Otterbox Defender for all my future phones. Thanks for such a great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good case but does not work with wireless chargers I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and many people told me to get an Otterbox. I bought this in October 2022 and I am happy with how it protects my phone. I finally got around to buying some wireless chargers to use with it as the box stated I could charge wirelessly with the case on. It does not work with any of the chargers. It does not matter how I position the phone - no charge. Very disappointed about this but I need a case for good protection. I would not recommend this case if you want to charge wirelessly. Otherwise, good protection for the phone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My phone & ipod survived a motorcycle wreck I have an otterbox cover on my iPhone and iPod. My iPod was on an attachment on my motorcycle and my iPhone was in the saddlebag on a trip to Saint Simons Island GA in August, well I was following my wife and daughter in the truck on my motorcycle when this guy decided to turn into a store without looking and hits my wife ( they were not hurt besides whiplash) he then swung back and hit me on the motorcycle. I was flown to Trauma center in Savannah Georgia. My iPod was thrown from motorcycle but is fine, my iPhone was in the destroyed saddle bag but is fine. I am blessed to be here and recovering. If otterbox made a motorcycle suit I wish I would have had it on! I have always bought entire cass as soon as I got a phone and after this I would own no other!
