What happened?
I have always loved the defenders since my first Samsung galaxy s4 and every model i have had thereafter has had a defender case on it however the change of the case not including the screen protector and the product never changing price has always felt conflicted on me

Expensive, but so is the phone.
Ordered case and screen protector at the same time. Both are working great and protecting the new S23. Used Magpul case on my previous S9, but they are apparently out of the phone case business so Otterbox is an excellent substitute. A bit pricey, but these modern phones are worth it.

I've had OtterBox cases in the past and this case for my galaxy S23 doesn't even come close to the to the robust quality of older versions. The material is thinner which makes it feel flimsy. The rim that surrounds the screen barely protrudes above the screen surface and therefore won't provide any drop protection. The retention clip on the holster is in the wrong location as it sits right on top of one of the phone control buttons and prevents it from clicking into place. If you rotate the phone to fit in the holster it doesn't fit tight and when the phone is removed it's in an unnatural position in your hand.

My 5th Otterbox and counting!
All of my phones are in pristine condition thanks to the cases--even my old Blackberries and I'm really clumsy. The case is MUCH slimmer than the case for my S9. I had a little trouble with the case and called customer service who are awesome! The rep explained you need to separate the hard shell into two pieces then fit it on your phone. I can't recommend Otterbox enough.

Epected Excellence and Received It!
I ordered this case for my new phone, knowing that it would be a superior product, because I had had an OtterBox case for another phone. It is beautifully designed and made, provides excellent protection for my phone, and looks good. The video instructions for putting it on my phone are well done and easy to follow. One added detail: the texture of the case makes it nearly impossible to slip out of my pocket.

not happy with the belt clip and design. I have to flip the phone upside down to put back in holster which increases chance of me dropping phone. S23 defender looks like it was designed for a lefty, not a righty. This is my 4th otter box and first disappointment.

Bad design - Clip pushes power button
I am a fan of Otterbox Defender since the Galaxy S5 came out, but the S23 design is flawed regarding the belt clip. I wear my belt clip on the right side and when the screen faces my hips, top of cellphone pointing forward, the clip keeps pressing the power button. I am not given a possibility to wear this as a right handed person, nor can I purchase a clip alone to solve the issue. I unfortunately have to wear the cellphone screen exposed.

Doesn't seem ambidextrous
It looks like the case and holster is designed for a left handed person. When wearing on the right side, the phone must be placed backwards in the holster (or what seems to be backwards to me) for the clip to lock the phone in.

Protecting a Protectors device
I have been using Otterbox Defender cases for probably the past decade, if not more. They have protected my phones throughout some very tough service as a 911 Advanced Care Paramedic. I am quite tough on my devices, amd with the exception of the belt holder, which historically does not survive, the case is the best.

Best case ever.
This is the second phone I've protected with an Otterbox and I wouldn't trust any other case. They are the best ever. They also have the best service as well. While travelling in Canada my holster broke somehow (no idea what happened) and when I got home I called Otterbox and they sent a completely new case and holster free of charge. Great people, great service.

Where did the clear protective cover go on the clamshell case? I ordered this based on past design and particularly liked that feaurure being the expensive cost of this case. Lets say I was a bit disappointed when getting the case.

Mulitiple layers of protection and versatility.
Love the multiply layers, cushioning and protection on this case. Coverings on the ports, side buttons and raised area around the camera lenses are a wonderful addition over many other case designs. The case is also comfortable to hold and easy to grip without feeling as though it will slip through your fingers.

Trim around camera wears off
The rubber trim around the camera started peeling and rubbing off within a few days of using the case. Very bothersome for being such an expensive case that it can't even last a couple of days. The rest of the case seems to be holding up well after a few weeks of use now.

Defender case gives great protection--I love it!
The case performs as advertised--it's great! The slightly raised "rubber rim" keeps the screen from touching any surface it's placed on. Plus, the rubber rim allows a glass screen protector for additional protection. It doesn't slide in and out of my pocket easily, but I like that because it forces me to pocket it securely, not leave the phone "dangling" and prone to theft or loss.

My fifth Otter case. Love them!
All of my phones are almost pristine (even my old Blackberries!) thanks to Otter. There are less expensive cases, but when it comes to device protection and customer service, you get what you pay for. I am clumsy and put my phones though their paces. I considered getting the Commuter case, but given how clumsy I am, the Defender is a must for me. Customer service is excellent! I've had nothing but good experience with Otter cases. I've used these cases for over a decade at leand highly recommend them.

NEEDS to come in Left and Right. I wear it on my right side with the phone facing my hip upside down, so it doesn't clip in and pushes on the power button. I have tried to flip it over than I can't unclip it with my thumb. Also doesn't seal very well against clip, screen gets dirty.

Absolutely the best out there !! Don't leave the phone store without an Otterbox on your expensive phone. I chose the blue and love it. Wanted green but another family member chose that one. No more grabbing the wrong phone.

Very protective. Only down side is that the phone only goes in the holster in one direction. Last phone could go either way in the holster.
