Decided on the Orbi AXE 11000 (960 Series) router and couldn't be happier. Even with doing a more advanced set up the interface was easy to use to get myself up and running on the new router/Satellite with ease and so far has been stable with no issues with speed/performance. Been a Netgear user for many years using quite a few of their products and have not been disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much Needed Upgrade I recently upgraded my home router from the ASUS AC2900 to the Orbi RBKE962 6e Mesh System. My service provider upgraded our neighborhood to Fiber so I thought I would join the MESH revolution. I have ZERO regrets. The packaging was crisp and clean. The contents were well organized and easy to get to. The build quality of the units is great with a solid feel and easy to use color coded ports. Setup was a breeze with the Orbi app. In conjunction with the Orbi upgrade I added various NETGEAR switches for the hard-wired rooms. The Orbi app highlights what is connected to each switch and keeps track of all of my devices; when active or dormant. Also, the Orbi app has a built-in speed test which is great! I ordered the wall mount to help with the installation near my networking cabinet. The installation was easy and the overall effect is clean. What devices do I use with my router: IoT: Google Doorbells, Lift Master Garage Cameras, Google Exterior Camera's, Honeywell Thermostat, ADT Monitoring panel, and much more. WAN: A few years ago I cut the cord and use the WAN via Keystones in each room to Watch YouTube TV, Apple TV, Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Max. Additionally, we connected two Xbox Series S to the WAN to enhance gaming performance. Wifi: We are a family of 5, three daughters all with iPhones, iPads, Meta Oculus, Nintendo Switch, and all sorts of other wifi enabled nonsense, all of which are working seamlessly and without complaints from my most difficult critics. Summary, if you are looking to make a solid upgrade for your home, and need something to handle all sorts of internet stuff, this is your router, I love the Orbi RBKE962! Highly recommend it.

It is much faster although once I get away from the main router and go to one of the satellites, the speed drops dramatically… I have moved them to different locations, not much improvement. My next step is to run an Ethernet cable from the router to the satellites and see if that makes a difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great system, but pricy We have a huge (6600 sq ft) house that is over 100 years old. The walls are plaster over lathe, and all that metal interferes with signals of all kinds. This mesh system replaced one by Linksys. Five nodes on that system weren't enough, so we added 3 more, for a total of 8. The system had to be rebooted once or twice a week, and signals often cut in and out. This system with three nodes reaches every inch of the house without difficulty. The internet speed went from an unreliable 25 to a very reliable 380. The old system never engaged our cell phones correctly. The Orbi allows for calls over wifi that are very stable. That is all the good. This system has definitely enhanced our quality of life where use of the internet is concerned. The cons have been mentioned before by others. First, the price tag was hard to swallow, as this system is about 300% more expensive than the next one out there. Second, for that price, there is a lot of stuff like parental support tools and internet security that other, less expensive mesh units include in the price. The price might be easier for me to justify if this were a comprehensive internet access and security system. I experienced on issue with setup that was easily resolved. I had plugged the two remote nodes into the same outlet and set them side by side in the same room as the base station to set them up. The initial setup software seemed to hang and failed to program the satellites. After about 6 minutes, an error message came up on my phone indicating the failure. I moved one of the satellites to the other side of the same room and plugged it into a different outlet, and then ran the setup again. This time, it proceeded without a hitch, and the system was fully programmed in minutes. I then put the base station and both satellites on the second floor. The cable and main TV room are on that floor, so the base station is in the middle of the house on the second floor, and the two satellites are located in the north and south bedrooms on each end of the building. This resulted in great coverage throughout all rooms, including a very large area on the first floor that has no second floor above it that contains 3 rooms. In fact, when I leave the property, I get about 200 yards from the property (which is 2.5 acres itself) before my phone drops the wifi signal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the Cost If you can afford this mesh WiFi system then it is a absolutely worth the price. Setup was easy. The app is so intuitive to use and covers everything a typical use would need. The web interface is just as easy to use for people wanting to tweak advanced settings. The wireless backhaul is very stable and has great bandwidth. The only thing I could ask for is a 900 series outdoor satellite. That said the range of these do pretty well covering outside my house so it is not really a negative, but the outdoor satellite would be nice for outdoor 6E coverage.

There were a couple of far-flung places in the house with weak signals. I saw the announcement for the new AXE11000 system which has farther reach and decided to try it - No weak areas with this one! No QoS and getting contention issues with IPTV. No ability to see live data rates on any connected devices. On reboot, satellite unit connectivity is inconsistent, slow and in some cases fails to connect. These issues should be the minimum requirement for such a system at this price

This system was extremely easy to set up, and has been fun to reposition satellites, to remove dark spots of WiFi connectivity. Achieved ~780mbps in the woods about 3,000 ft from house from the second story satellite. Couldn’t be happier.

However, while I do enjoy an increased range, if I leave the house and come back it doesn’t recognize our devices thereby requiring a reboot of the device to reengage the system. I also have the bit defender software installed on all devices which I thought would better allow the system to recognize our devices but unfortunately that was not the case. In short, if your a hermit and never leave the house it is great, otherwise, buyer beware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than anything I've had before Easy to set up, coverage is good, and really happy that each satellite has two RJ45 connections in the back for direct connecting of network items. Sometimes the Wi-Fi seems to drop for a second as if to refresh itself. Not sure if this is the equipment or my ISP, so I am not dinging Orbi for that. What remains to be seen is if after the welcome period wears off... if they will keep trying to push the "Armor" subscription as hard and as often as Norton pushes for upsells on their products. Time will tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs adequately. Still have wifi blindspots Had difficulty installing it. Needed support to help me to reset router to factory default and reinstall. The support personnel was really friendly and helped resolve the issues. The wifi coverage states 9000 square feet. I still have wifi blindspots and the connection does drop. When we airplay from computer to apple TV do have some speed issues. Still testing the router only 3 weeks of usage.

I figured that a new product release would be quirky for the first few firmware releases. This seems to have been my case as well. About 2 weeks in, I noticed a considerable change (for the good. I love it. The system has been rock solid for two weeks. I’m getting fantastic speeds. 700+ near the mesh APs. Accessing the advanced page from a web browser is a pain. I wish it was in the app. Outside of that, I believe this to be the #1 consumer system available.

VERY strong and reliable WiFi on all wireless bands (2.4, 5 & 6 GHz) with ZERO dropped connections. I get full gigabit speeds (~940Mbps up/down) on the wireless 6GHz band without sitting near the Orbi!! The VPN connection is rock-solid without any dropped connections (I've been continuously connected for over 3 days at a time). I participated in the RBKE963 beta testing and I really put this system through the wringer. I assure you, the RBKE963 will far exceed your expectations & be the best WiFi system you've ever owned. You will not regret this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great with the right Modem 2nd Review. I ended up replacing my modem to one that doesn't have the router included. Huge difference!! With Orbi being the ONLY router things synced quickly and work great. I picked up on this by reading the netgear forums and bridging with Xfinity. It was just easier to go buy a modem without the router built in rather than trying to turn off the router in the modem. Then you have to get your internet provider to update the modem information on their side. I had to have Comcast enter my new modem information and remove the old modem information they had on my account. Hope this helps save someone a headache. It's all wonderful now. Very fast!

Only issue was with loT, had to turn it off by connecting to the main mesh and turning off loT so app could not use it. Otherwise the printer and several other wireless devices (Sendi HVAC control would lose wireless connection until I reset/restarted the device Support did not help in resolving issue. I new loT was new feature and figured it somehow created the issue even though it was off in the Orbi App. Therefore turning off loT by connecting to the primary Mesh device did the printer and other devices retain wireless connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Orbi product to date!!! Since day one of this being Installed, the entire system, wifi coverage, network and performance has been solid. NetGear's best Orbi system to date. All my devices connect to this system with out problems. Speeds and connection rates seen on my devices are what is supported by the devices and from the Orbi system. So on a few wifi devices I have, i see near or over 900Mpbs on the download and 50Mbps always on the up speed when testing wirelessly. Gaming is good as well for online gaming with Xbox game consoles. Little or no configurations needed. OPEN NAT always seen on the console. NEST Thermostat controllers remain online with out low battery messages being seen since my system went online. I enjoy having WPA2 and WP3 mixed wifi security modes to select now. Glad the NetGear offers a separate 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz IoT SSID radio for those problematic 2.4Ghz only IoT devices that IoT manufactures fail to better develop. I like the option of having white or black case styles now. Something I hope they continue to offer in future Orbi products. It's nice to see higher WAN and LAN port connection rates. Nice to see 2.5Gb speed on the RBS LAN port. Hoping that all 1000Mbos LAN ports will see higher link rate speeds on future Orbi products. Thank you for the continued Link Aggregation support on the WAN side. System works well in router or AP mode configured with any other router. RBS works great with wireless or Ethernet connected backhaul with the main router. RAXE500 in client bridge mode set to 6Ghz works well as a media client configuration. Using a R7960P in client bridge mode set to 5Ghz works well as a media client configuration. Setup was easy and seamless and fairly quick vs older Orbi systems, even for an average home user. Remote access from Orbi app is nice to have while remotely away from the home. Armor and Smart Parental Controls are nice to have and works well. I don't use Armor or Smart Parental Controls much as most are adults here in this home. Should be good for those household with the need and children that need some parental controls. Netgear, please ensure this is supported well over all Orbi systems as well as it is on the Orbi RBKE. Overall, the system and firmware has been stable, solid and with little or no problems since I put it online. Netgear, please don't change a thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blistering Fast Wi-Fi through my whole house now I've had it running for a week and every part of my house has ultra fast Wi Fi. Typically I've found 5 GHz signals don't do well unless you're close to the router but with this system I'm getting speeds that are the same as if I'm standing 5 feet from the router. My Wi Fi is about the same speed as my ethernet connected PC -- 450-470 Mbps (I'm paying for 400 Mbps). My garage was getting 40 Mb with my old Apple Time Capsule -- now it's 400+ . I get 125 Mb standing on the street! Software is easy to configure and lots of good monitoring available. Be sure to use the supplied ethernet cable to connect from cable model to the Orbi router. My old ethernet cable was limiting bandwidth to the Orbi router but once I swapped it for Netgears cable --- ZOOM! Super impressed with this router and the software.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but quite the performance beast! I am an owner of the first generation Orbi with 2 satellites (RBK53) and liked how it performed. The RBKE963 is so much better than the original Orbi that I may not even want to look at anything else for a while. I'm not saying it is perfect, but fairly close in my book. Pros: 10Gbps Internet port along with one 2.5Gbps and three 1Gbps LAN ports on the router and one 2.5Gbps and three 1Gbps LAN ports on the satellites! Wifi 6E (6Ghz) capabilities that are stable and fast under Windows 11 (but a bit troublesome with Windows 10) Great coverage compared to my older Orbi and all of my other standalone routers (I have almost 4K sqft across 2 floors with no dead spots) IoT band provides an easy way to connect those pesky old IoT devices that REQUIRE you to be connected to 2.4Ghz band on your phone/tablet to configure. Although this separate band is not isolated from other devices on your network, it sure solves the problem with the old Orbi of not being able to separate 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, even temporarily for IoT setup. Cons: No USB ports on either the Router or the Satellites Still the same old Orbi network management page and app. Like most Netgear routers now, the firmware/app really pushes you towards Netgear Armor and Smart Parental Control Router log scheduled mailing is not functional (it mails, but not the complete log, or even anything close to the complete log). As stated above - this thing is PRICEY - but it is a beast as well in what it can provide for network speed and network coverage.

The speed is maxing out to our service providers levels and runs great. We are heavy gamers, streamers and I work from home, can’t say enough about how fantastic this unit is.

The first is a WAN port that automatically adjusts to the speed of the port on your modem- anything from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps and the speeds in between. The second is a dedicated "IOT" band that you can set to 2.4 GHz to help with pairing 2.4 GHz devices that require a cell phone. The switch on the back of the router supports 2.5 Gbps for fast ethernet switches. Since the wireless backhaul is only 5 GHz, you should consider using those ports for 2.5 GHz wired backhaul. This router also supports WPA3 security. I have been using it with Windows 11 and an Intel AX210 card- very fast WiFi, and more solid than you might think from some early reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product but expensive I bought a couple days ago. Ran extensive tests against my (2ea Nighthawk X6 R8000 from 2014 and my Orbi mesh RBK23. This RBKE963 mesh system beat them both by more than 5 times the speed and coverage area. Also consider the number of smart devices that are connected in todays environment that were not present 2 years ago. I haven't fully tested this devices ability to manage 200+ devices and don't intend to so I will let the other devices I own manage the lower end appliances. Please understand that there are many factors that are dependent on connectivity such as age of your device, generation of the wireless in your device, barriers between you and your signal as well wireless congestion or interference between you and your signal just to name a few. So please don't think that if you spend $1500 on a top of the line wireless access point that all your problems will be solved as they will not. I speed tested this device on an Ipad air bought in 2015 with the Ax8 chip I also speed tested this device using the same speed tester on my Iphone 12 pro max and the speeds on my iphone pro 12 max were more than 5 times faster than my 6 year old ipad. This product is solid but it is only one part of your connection!

I can't believe the speed increase and range I now have on my home network. My new $5000 Dell laptop is now able to operate at its full potential without being bogged down by all the traffic on my network from all the devices I use: UHD TVs and streaming services, several other laptops, notepads, and cells phones, Lorex security cameras, web connected appliances, etc. To say I'm pleased is an understatement. I initially thought about skipping this system due to the price, but after thorough research, I decided to dive in. I wish I could have waited for a price drop, but I was frustrated with my slow performing router and the fact I couldn't connect a new Amazon Echo 8 Gen 2 because I had the max devices connected to the router. And the range extenders I had to use to reach the rest of my home left a lot to be desired. No problems now! I have full strength and no loss of speed no matter where in the house I am, even outside!

I want to post my review because there are many people who are not tech savvy and want something easy to set up. This was super easy and fast to set up. I have a house that is multi level and 2800 Sq ft. I used to have many dead spots and dropped signals and since adding this, I haven't had any issues. My signal has been consistant and strong. I'm supposed to have 400 Mbps but I'm actually getting about 470. I have a lot of wifi home devices and they all have been easy to connect to. The app is easy to use and its nice to actually see what's connected. I used the rax80 and nighthawk extender before this and the service was good but not as consistant and as strong of a signal as the Orbi. The design is a nice addition from the bulky black routers with wings. You definitely won't be disappointed.

I decided to post my review because there are so many people who want and need a fast and dependable wireless router. Asking your friend and neighbhors for their advice when buying a router can really be crazy. You neighbhor wants to help but they are typical having the same internet issues i.e weak or poor signal dropouts, dead spots and premature router failures.We live in a time now where having poor internet signal can get you fired from your job! And please remember, your ISP does not guarantee you the fastest wifi speed but they do guarantee a wifi connection. I have owned some very decent routers over the last 20 years and I know how important it is to have a dependable fast wireless network at your home. So my comments are strictly trying to help you. I am a long time user of Netgear equipment but the RBKE963 is the most impressive piece of Netgear equipment I have ever owned. I currently own a Netgear R9000 and RAX E500 router and both are very fast, dependable and efficient wireless routers but the RKBE963 is the winner in my home. I have 52 devices connected(ethernet) via a Netgear 52 port switch and between 5 to 15 wireless devices running off this router every day without any delay, drop out or dead spots.The RBKE963 has outstanding wi-fi 5ghz,ac,ax and wi-fi 6 wireless speed and range. The router is very easy to setup and manage. There are other good Mesh units on the market but the RBKE Router takes performance and speed to another level. My 2019 IMAC does not have wifi 6 capability but it does have wifi ax capability> Running the desktop "WireGuard" VPN protocol configuration, my download speed is constantly over 700 Mbps with a 600 Internet speed plan. The download speed without VPN is also over 700 Mbps.Those of you familiar with VPN already know that the VPN download speed is typical reduce by at least 50 percent. Well the WireGuard program along with the RBKE963 just blew past that barrier. The RBKE963 along with the satellites eliminate "dead spots" in and around your house and instantly provides a strong signal. If you have unusal house barriers, the RBKE963 router and satellites each have several ethernet ports in case you need to connect the satellite to the router to reach very difficult dead spots or connect your other equipment. Gaming, Streaming and Video meeting issues are eliminated with this router, providing you do not have other ISP issues. Your family will love this Router! If you are tired of hearing, "what happen to our wifi", get this unit! BTW, do not connect this unit to a cheap ISP MODEM!! Get a very fast, good dependable Modem. Happy wi-fi

If you don't own a smartphone, there is no hope for you without Google. The website takes you around in circles with ambiguous links that take you nowhere. The product serial number which is required to activate an account is printed on a sticker on the router in a font which is so small that a microscope is required to read it. After two hours of unnecessary aggravation, the product installs and works perfectly. I am totally happy with the product. I would offer those responsible for the installation instructions only bad words.

This is 3rd Orbi setup and by far the best yet. 3200 sqft home, 70 IoT smart devices, 9000 sqft property size yet cellphone connects 4 houses away. Not a single nook or cranny of dead space. Wifi6 speeds are a wow factor. Netgear could give a little by giving atleast 1 year of Armor considering the price point. Now just need ISP to offer greater then Gig internet speed.

When setting up, I had to call the tech service twice, because of the 5g and 2.5. Other then that, so far so good. Just give it time and be patient. They say it’s a plug and play, but it took me a good hour to two to set everything up and link it to TVs, printers, etc. I do like the guest feature. Again, so far so good.

We have a large single story home on a large lot, so for years we have been using google mesh.. while it did a decent job we were never able to really take advantage of the speed we really had! Here comes the Orbi 6e - I can stand 50ft from an endpoint in the backyard and still get 300mb down, inside the house we can pull our full service everywhere @1100 mb/s that’s unheard of with Wi-Fi!! And we have 60 devices on a regular basis connected between the entire fam the Orbi doesn’t skip a beat. You get what you pay for but in more ways than one, the app works great, set up was easy, we couldn’t be happier

With my previous router I was seeing a drop in download speeds from the router by half. The new Orbi clocks in at download speeds (950 mb/s) that actually exceed what Xfinity is supposed to be supplying to my modem (800 mb/s). Maybe a slight decrease if I go outside by 20 mb/s but that's it. Very impressive. My only complaint is that, for some reason, even though I used the same router name and password for my IoTs, I still had to go through the process of reconnecting them to the router. Must be something to do with Mesh vs non-mesh but I shouldn't have had to do that. Hope this router doesn't die on me like the first one....

I say mostly because I run mine in AP mode. The wireless speed increase from the RB40s ranges from 2.5x - 5x on my network. Am glad I did the upgrade.

Approx 3,000sq ft house, wifi speed greatly reduces when I am in back yard or further away from main router. I have tried TP Deco XE75 Pro, eero pro 6E, but still same performance. Netgear ORBI 960 made huge difference. Even I am at backyard, I was still getting same download speed when I am near main router. Best Mesh System I have used.

Disappointed with the different add-ons for security, management, etc...For $1500 there should be no 30 day trials and additional costs for this and that! Setup was easy. Currently have devices that use 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. Looking forward to acquiring wifi 6 capable devices to see how they work. Overall, appears to be a good but expensive product.

Upgraded to the 960 series 6e for more coverage (outside!) and I added more smart home equipment. They’re both excellent systems, but the 960 was like going from a V6 to a V8 with better fuel economy, yet able to tow twice as much! Fantastic!!

Lastly, the iOS app is really pretty great, and particularly remotely...again, excellent status updates and easy availability of information, and it's clearly meant to be used remotely. Highly recommend this system, and I'll likely be buying one for my home, as well.

Even after all of that, there were still dead areas. We now have excellent coverage including the far side of the garage. I'm actually impressed by how well it works.

I used to own the model before this, I think it was rbk853 L, and they worked fine. But then I upgraded to the linksys velop wifi 6e system and it was okay. Didn't work as well as the orbi system I had before. So I ended up selling those and purchased this system. It was working great the first 3 days. After that, the wifi output signal just stopped working! I could see my wifi signal on all my devices and they would attempt to connect. But I would get an error saying there is no internet available on this wifi signal. I basically have a smart home and everything smart capable is in my house. So nothing was online in my house. The strange thing is, anything that was wired to the router worked just fine. Not sure what happened but I returned them and got my money back

I have been happy with all of my Netgear products so that is where I went to shop. I needed something to handle my 2 Gb speed. The Axe11000 fit the bill perfectly. I am just using the wireless router for now and I am very pleased with the performance and how easy it was to install and configure. I highly recommend this product. It’s definitely what I need for the 2Gb Internet. Netgear makes great products.

Well, long story but 1 1/2 hours with support we rebooted everything and got it all working. We replaced an old Orbi RBR40 with 5 satellites that wouldn't keep all of our 43 devices connected. This new Orbi system has better coverage with 2 satellites than the old one with 5. The speed test shows upload speed of 23 and download of 937 this is with Xfinity blast internet. All of our devices on 4 floors and outdoor cameras are staying connected. Originally only the devices that we logged on with the new SSID would connect which left about 30 devices to individually connect, then I changed the guest network to the same SSID and password as the old system and all the other devices came online without needing to go in and change each one individually. It has only been about a week but so far it is great. I would give five stars were it not for needing to spend 1.5 hours with support to get it running properly,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Update from 2016 WiFi router Older WiFi router worked ok when my nearest neighbor was over 500 feet away, but progress creeped in when subdivision made on tiny 50 by 100 foot lots surrounded my half century old home. Selected Orbi AXE1100 (Tri-band) with two satellite extenders to see how the installation would work. Decision based on the idea that newer stuff would be better, satellite nodes would help with shop connection some 40-50 feet away from the primary WiFi router and the additional included RAM and it’s faster processor speed could better deal with the affects from the invisible WiFi jungle that sprouted up all around our home. Initial installation was pretty simple but farm boy type brain would appreciate there being some pictures and recommendations on the options/ preferences on ports to use on the wireless back haul as I use my iPhone during the installation. Hooking Cat 5 cable to try a back haul connection into the 1 gig ports out in the shop works but haven’t stressed it’s remote connection with 4k video streams while using internet in the shop. So it’s been a significant improvement. For a while I was frustrated in getting the 2.5GHz shop light camera to work with the Tri-band router. While the is information available when searching the internet there are many that only waste your time. Eufy tech help email indicated their product didn’t support 5G. I couldn’t get it to work and left on a road trip for a few days. So on day 2 away from home I started to get notifications from the camera being triggered. Why, I don’t understand, but your tech

When fiber optic finally arrived in our neighborhood I needed a mesh system that would take advantage of the high speed internet. The Orbi did that and more. I have Wi-Fi with consistent download of 500 MBs and upload of 400 MBs anywhere in my 3000 sf two story home and my entire 3/4 acre yard. The coverage is the best I’ve ever had. The setup was easy to do with the Netgear App and I get a report whenever a new device joins my network. It is expensive but IMO worth every penny. I’ve only had it for about 10 days, so I can’t speak to reliability yet, time will tell.

I was up to 62 (it is rated for 40 and started to notice some lag and drop in speed. Yes this is a huge investment but nothing compared to what I have spent on lights, switches and all other smart home gadgets. setup was easy, i now have capacity for 200 items, faster speeds and future of wifi. (would be nice if transfer from previous to new product was automatic) I have to call support to have my subscriptions transferred and previous product removed from my account now that I've tested the newest but not so greatest "mesh system." I have 52 devices connected and plan to add more security cameras soon. I've had issues with devices dropping and reconnecting. Not good, maybe an issue with the devices themselves as I've had to replace a couple of them already.

I have 5200 Sq ft to cover and it easily does the job. Upgraded spectrum to 1GB, upgraded modem to Motorola and upgraded Wi-Fi to Orbi axe11000. I didn’t notice any change until I installed the Orbi and then everything got wicked fast. Everyone is home now using the Wi-Fi and I have had zero complaints. Easy install too. Well worth the price.

That’s how my last one broke the cat knocked it over. It would be really easy to make a slide and wide base that would hold it more securely.

Security and parent controls are excellent although they are subscription services unfortunately. House is 5000sqft. Coverage within the home is excellent. I was hoping there would be more robust Wi-Fi in our yard, but the jury is still out. As of now, coverage outside doesn’t seem to be any better than prior Asus system, although we are not using Wi-Fi 6e devices just yet. Time will tell. Overall, pretty happy with system.

While those are a decent setup, I often saw my IoT devices disconnect from the closer AP and try to connect to one much further away. This caused slowness and disconnects and often required me to go power cycle the device to get it to connect to the closer AP. I never got this sorted out and finally gave up on Google WiFi and gave Netgear Orbi a try. Obviously not in the same price class but OMG, they shouldn't be based on how much better they perform! My devices don't lag anymore, don't disconnect from the closer AP, don't need power cycled, NOTHING! I'm in love with my WiFi again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great items I had three modems before, to cover my house and pool area. My Alexa’s would randomly drop one Wi-Fi signal and move to another would stop playing music. Since I’ve installed Orbi, I only have one signal. Orbi automatically has the Wi-Fi 6 and 2.4 so I don’t need a modem for the smart light switches and cameras. Orbi handles all the switches, cameras, air filters, and the sixty other item and still stream movies on two TV’s. All while I have my computer running remote work. I’ve actually doubled my internet speed since I’ve installed these. They have been a great improvement over my last setup and easy setup, even the app is helpful.

Since we have been using it the past month bother my husband and I have had streaming videos just stop in the middle of streaming (no buffering...just stopping short.. This has happened several times a day (and night). We both have newer laptops we got last year and never had these issues with our previous router (also a Netgear, but not a mesh)...For as expensive as this system was, this is very disappointing.

The desktop browser interface gives you the settings youd expect, dont use the mobile phone interface unless you are looking to only chamge basic settings. I had constant issues with devices dropping and the only solution was to restart it. Sometimes after a full restart the satellites would connect to the router, but no devices would connect to the satellites, sometimes just one satellite, sometimes both. Then I would restart each satellite hoping the devices would connect. Most of the time this second restart worked. I worked with support a few times on this, but the only thing that worked, was a restart of the network. I was hoping that they had worked the bugs out of their software and that the hardware would be more robust and offer a faster experience. I have 1.3Gbps service from Xfinity and even with the new system and connecting to the Orbi router standing right in front of it, I get at most 700Mbps. I don't really need anything faster than that, but was hoping just to see the numbers closer to the speed I pay for. I was also hoping that with the new opportunity for multiple networks, they would be allowing more tweaking in the web app. Actually some things you could do prior are missing now. The new Orbi 960 goes down similarly to the old system, although I don't have to restart every few days, it's now about once a week or so for the main network. It does seem worse on the IOT network where random devices drop off and won't reconnect. If it was always the same devices, I would think it's the device, but it's all devices, randomly at different times. I don't have the Xfinity Wi-Fi network enabled including the public network, so I don't think it's interference. When the IOT network starts having trouble, the option is to restart the Orbi system or go unplug and plug back in each device. I also had a issue where Armor was not working and had an error code that said the payment had expired. I worked for 5 or 6 nights after work with support. It was clear to them and to me what happend. They moved my old paid account to the new system that was still using an Armor trial. When the trial expired, it didn't recognize the new system as having a subscription. Every night it was the same thing, collecting information and saying another department would call me the next night. Several times there were no calls that had been scheduled. Each time it seemed like first level support starting over. They finally claimed that they fixed the issue, but I had to start another trial period and they claim when the trial is over, it should automatically connect to my paid account. I hope so. I hate to sound so disappointed, but this system for 3 devices, is $1,499.00. That's an insane amount of money for something that is still operating likes it a beta. Fool me once (Orbi RBK 853), shame on you, fool me twice (RBKE963), shame on me. I should have known better.

I purchased my first one several years ago and it still works, However, I wanted to upgrade to the latest Wi-Fi 6 to keep up with technology. I was worried the same might be true of the Netgear product, but I quickly found the opposite. Some reviews blasted the product and the accompanied app, but I found both to be excellent, easy to set up and lightning fast. My WiFi devices are as fast as my wired and coverage is complete in all parts of a two story home office, garage and outside patio. I still have some things to learn regarding the Armor security and some options. The most negative aspect is the tech support located in India. I have great difficulty understanding the fast talking tongue and their English language skills. Maybe others can hear and understand them better than me. They are very nice and try to be helpful, but for me it is the only negative aspect of the Netgear product.

The addition of the main unit and the two satellites strategically placed eliminated the dead spots completely. The app allows for a lot of information accessed at your fingertips. I definitely recommend the ORBI, i have a few new devices that actually take advantage of the ^6E signal and it is very fast. The most difficult part is the installation but once that is over the coverage is amazing.

The biggest problem I had was that they seemed to be creating interference with each other which caused devices to drop off the WiFi. I found a post that said to reduce the power of the radios to 50% and increase the CTS. I know very little about all of that but it seemed to solve my issues. Crazy that they can't be intelligent enough to determine that they are too close and having issues and reduce the power or at least notify you if you're having issue try reducing the power. That took days for me to figure out.

I got sick and tired of having to okay my phone to use cellular data. I also was tired of slow downloads, buffering, and other Wi-Fi download issues despite of paying for a good Internet account. I was amazed at the difference! Now I have no streaming issues, super fast downloads over Wi-Fi, and no connectivity issues. I highly recommend this system. I replaced a Nighthawk router and extender that gave very decent performance for a number of years, but I have a large house spread across 3 levels, and we always suffered dead spots in parts of the house. That issue is totally resolved with the Orbi, with blistering fast speeds being seen everywhere in the house. Set up was ridiculously easy...literally just plugged it up and it worked. Despite the price, which is considerable, I am extremely happy with the results.

This is my first Quad-band system and what I am very pleased with is that it offers for someone who has a large footprint to cover options of strong signals at different frequencies! Security but at a cost that other manufactures offer for free. But the ease of setup and the ability to work with other systems makes it a very viable system for a home or small business! It is pricey but you are getting the newer cutting edge 6E Mesh system! You can expand the system but once again at an extended cost! The system has been very stable and the software easy to use! Would I purchase it again? Yes! NETGEAR has leaped forward with this product!

There is no way to implement a MAC address filter and there is no way to stop the SSID from being openly broadcast. Tech support said this was not possible and they simply recommended to implement their parental controls (which cost additional $$. For the price, there is no question these security features should be available.

Never seen a more powerful machine with stronger signal. However, I had a minor issue with connecting it to the modem during setup and customer service was absolutely worthless and took me through troubleshooting changing the SSID and the wifi channels and wouldn't listen that I had zero issues with signal and only issues with the connection from the router to the modem. I had a friend fix it instead. Also after charging such a premium I'm still uncomfortable with the money grab of charging not one but TWO different subscriptions to get all the features of this router. Even something simple like monitoring data usage is blocked unless you pay for parental controls. But I did know about these features requiring subscriptions when I bought it and I bought it anyways for the premium hardware. Still sucks though. Also sucks to have connection issues during setup.

After this however, everything has been smooth sailing with great seamless connections and blazing fast speed. The previous gateway from the isp capped out at well below the speed I pay for, but the orbi paired with a nighthawk modem grabs all that bandwidth. It’s 6x faster than the previous setup and I can connect all my iot devices with no issues.

I have not had any connection problems. I love all the security features of this system too. You can have separate passwords for guests, can set usage tones for each device and it has built in protect from hackers. You can control your system from the app while you are away. I can’t say enough good things about Orbi and all of its features. I highly recommend this product

The setup was simple, the coverage is amazing, and the IoT network is terrefic. The difference is night and day. The extra channels the new system has really opens it up for speed. Within the app for the 6E mesh there is an analyst section for what channel is recommended you be for each broadcast you have enaed to reduce the amount of interferences which is a nice touch. Having the ability to see what channels have the most traffic is nice so you can change it up if needed so your network doesnt bog down. Have the abity to plug directly into the router and satellites is nice. Hardwiring was simple and easy. I enjoy having the option to switch from wireless to hardwire depending on what I am doing. The range on this system is spectacular! I placed a satellite in my garage and I am still receiving almost decebt signal at the end of my alley which is roughly 100 yards away. IoT is by far one of my favorite things as it allows me to place all of my smart lights, outlet plugs and my SONOS system on it. It has the ability to broadcast in both 2.4 and 5ghz or you can select either one independently. By having this channel it really helped to open my main wireless network up because it took roughly 20 items off of it.

With each router mentioned I had great WiFi speed when close to the main router. My ISP speed is 1gig and I was getting 600mbps wireless. However, when I went to my bedroom in the far side of the house I would get between 25 and 80mbps wireless. Now with the Orbi I am getting 380mbps in my bedroom. That is a 300mbps increase. That is what makes the Orbi Mesh system worth the high price. Now I can stream and enjoy super fast wireless speeds in all parts of my home.

Lots of strange wall choices at time of build but with proper placement and a little troubleshooting I have no network loss wired or wireless throughout the whole place. The Quad-Band specifically is going to be a great help (2 dedicated wi-fi signals, 1 for security, and the 4th is the backhand for the wireless). To double make sure you have no loss at home I recomend a router also capable of Aggregation and your work from home calls will never drop.

It was very simple to set up and it boosted my internet speed in a dead zone of my big house...from 5mbps to 350mbps...just spectacular. Home has a lot of walls and corners so for a 2 story home totaling 2700 sq. ft. living space, the router plus two satellites was perfect. I pay for 1G internet and the lowest I clock is 500 mbps at the busiest times of the day, furthest from the router. Would recommend this setup to anyone with a lot of devices and work from home or gaming setups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Yet! The Orbi AXE11000 is the best mesh system I have ever used. It is pricey but the satisfaction of knowing no matter what you throw at it ,the Orbi performs. I have close to 100 smart devices and have not had any drop offs since I set up the mesh network., no buffering on 4k streaming. It just works, and works well. Set up was easy. Up and running in about 20 minutes. I do have 2 Gb service. At the router I get about 2.012 Gb. My Samsung 22 Ultra gets 1.650Gb to 1.750Gb any where in the house and 200 feet outside. AXE11000 is the best now and I'm confident it will remain so for a long time.

This system replaced a prior 6000version system with 3 satellites (I recently lost my prior Orbi mesh system due to lightning damage). With only two satellites with this system, I have more solid coverage throughout my home (interior and exterior) than the prior system. I purchased the NETGEAR® Orbi™ AXE11000 Quad-band WiFi 6E Mesh System from Best Buy because I have a detached garage that is 400ft away from my front door. The garage is used for my office and entertainment where I stream my 4K TV, use Sonos and also play video games on my computer. Let’s just say this is a huuuuuge upgrade from my previous Velop system. I went from a very weak connection to a full strength great connection. It may be pricey however if you need the speed and range you cannot go wrong with this one!

My gripe is that the WiFi signal gets dropped every so often to my desktop which is only a room away from the router and another room away from a satellite. The is also no connection to my smart bulbs and yet my smart plugs all work fine and they are all from the same brand (?)

My house has 3 floors including the basement where the router resides in the boiler room surrounded by cement walls. Total square feet is approximately 3,000+. After placing one additional node in the finished basement area, one on the main floor and the other two on the top floor at opposite sides of the house, I had full coverage without any issues. Now after 6 weeks, I’ve had no problems. Works great.

I was certain I would need another satellite however the coverage is strong throughout the house. I migrated from a Google Nest where I had 5 points and never once had consistent or strong coverage. Areas for improvement include greater configurability and built in parental controls. Google did a great job with this and I miss it with the Orbi. Given the tradeoff however I will take great coverage over configurability all day long. Overall very satisfied and feel like it was worth every cent.

However, only was able to achieve 50 MB unless close to main unit. Cable inter with 900 MB. New Orbi gives much better coverage with 500 MB coverage through the entire house and garage. Needed to upgraded older modem for compatibility.

I’ve used most any brand you can think of, and the one I recommend the most to my clients is the Netgear Orbi systems. I recently had the opportunity to have a client use the newest wifi6e orbi system and all I can say is this thing is hands down the best yet. Setup was quick and easy. The system provided excellent coverage around the house and outside and most importantly, we haven’t found a dead spot everywhere we tested. All throughout the house we were getting great speeds. No matter where we were. I would not hesitate to install and recommend orbi to any of my clients and friends. It’s that good.

I never had WiFi coverage in my backyard and my devices keep disconnecting from the WiFi. Very frustrating! I bought Orbi WiFi6E and my life changed. Not only do I have coverage throughout my home, I now have WiFi in my backyard and my front yard…all the way to my neighborhood’s stop sign! My entire family can be on the WiFi at the same time streaming shows, Zooming, gaming, listening to music on Pandora and the WiFi is flawless. Orbi rules!

My wife works from home so it's imperative the wifi stays working. We got so frustrated that we took the also expensive system and tossed it. In comes the new Orbi 960! Made the switch to a router and 3 satellite system into a pretty large home (>9000 sq ft) and there have been 0 issues and excellent coverage! very happy with this purchase.

To ensure the entire family had internet access all over the place, our house, our garage, our land, we had extenders. 6 of them. They worked. Most of the time. Sometimes when I taught online classes. Sometimes when we watched movies. Sometimes when the grandkids played games. Then a friend suggested I look into Orbi. I did look. And I found the Quad Band 6E Mesh. Orbi and I ate best friends. Together, we got rid of all those extenders. So easy to add satellites if needed. So reliable. So consistently there for me and for my family. No dropped service. No spinning hourglass or circle. No unplugging the router and plugging it back in. No frustration. Hardly a thought about my network except to realize it just works without me.

Our house has plaster walls so getting signal around evenly and consistently was impossible. I was getting spotty and dropped service at 10-30 Mbps. Now I get 400-570 Mbps and no drops. Kids are happy, I am happy. No more wasted time resetting and troubleshooting bad wifi and internet.

No longer bottlenecked by wireless throughput, my zigbee neetwork isn't clogged anymore, and I've got actual network ports in the back of my access points. Very nice system

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding System for Large Home After giving up with the never ending issues of my last Mesh System I bit the bullet and purchased the AXE11000 Mesh System. The Orbi System was replacing a 5 node mesh system that had “fairly good” reception save for one node but a system that experienced endless firmware upgrade issues!! The Orbi installation was straight forward, the satellite integration was unbelievably simple!! The whole process took about 10 minutes. The performance is OUTSTANDING!! I have solid connections/performance throughout the house. WiFi speed checks through all units indicate modem connection speeds, the System ROCKS! The only “Con” to the entire package is the “Orbi Armor” provided by Bitdefender. I use Bitdefender Virus protection on my computers but chose to add Armor as a second layer of protection. BUT, I’m tired of being nickeled and dimed (as only Bitdefender can do) for every feature, VPN, and “added layer of protection” Bitdefender wants to add to my WiFi and all the devices that touch it! Please, you have an outstanding system here with a descent Dashboard. You offer your Armor protection which I chose to enable but the endless “Add this for $1.49 a month” is ruining the entire experience! This system deserves 5 STARS, you received 4 because of the poor implementation of your App with the Bitdefender. You have a good package, quote a single price for the package and end the endless “For a dollar more we can add this”!! As I said, this is an outstanding system that provides exceptional performance which meets all of my needs BUT is distracted by poor salesmanship of “additional security software”!!

The signal is strong, I can game online with no issues and my download and streaming is great! I just got the router. Didn't need any satellites, just a strong signal to get through the dense walls of my home.

The IOT band for automation devices and cameras is perfect. Netflix actually works on all of my TVs now. This system is a game changer. My wife and I work from home and are in constant video calls daily. Worth every penny!

This newer system does not seem to have the same issues in our two level house that is about 3,000 square feet. Since installing, we haven’t dropped a video call and don’t seem to be plagued by pixelated calls. Four stars only because of the price and the fact that NETGEAR asks you to purchase their security after already dropping $$$$ for their expensive system.

The speeds are crazy I have a multi gig service and this system pushes it to the limits. Im so happy I upgraded to this system with iPads,gaming systems and streaming boxes this system more than delivers with fast and reliable connection at all times at the same time. But, my wife and I work from home and really need top tier connectivity and speed and I just wasn’t sure I was getting that from my old system. So, I upgraded to the Orbi and am sooo happy I did! The setup is very easy, I love that each unit has Ethernet ports for both a back haul and to connect a couple nearby devices, and the app and security tools are amazing. I now have unmatched speeds, much greater control, and way better security. I’m so in love with this system!

I’m getting more range than I’ve ever had before and the speeds are amazing. Only time will tell as this is to be expected with the antennas being so new. We shall see how they hold up once they have been beat up and stressed for a couple of months.

It was easy to install and the speed is awesome. Considerably faster then the other system I was using and no dead spots in the house.

After doing extensive broadband testing, I wasn't getting all my ISP bandwidth only 500mbps in the corner of the house. I set up both satellites. I noticed with only one satellite my speed was better than two. Bottomline is the more satellites you add, the worse your bandwidth will be. This brings the point of the 6e vs 6. I thought there is no delay with however many you add as they are non overlapping channels unlike the 6. Which obviously isn't the case. You would only need 3 satellites in a massive house, but I won't guarantee ISP chosen bandwidth in all corners of the house as the satellites decrease the bandwidth.

This system is covering it all well with no drops and the speed at the previous dead spot is 350 mbps. (Gig speed cable) That’s impressive as it’s 60 feet at least from the router. It’s relatively expensive but if it would have been my first purchase it would have saved me lots of time and money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coverage available Talking with an ADT installer inquiring about good mesh systems for larger houses, he had recommended Orbi as the product that came to mind. After extensive web surfing and product reviews I too came to the conclusion that Orbi was top of my list. After reviewing three systems ranging from $500 - $1200 I decided because of my square footage (8000) and the way my house is laid out (3 stories with some slabs and concrete block) I decided to go with the AXE11000 6E for range and use of the new frequencies of the 6E. I’ve used it now for over two weeks and undoubtedly made the best choice. Not only does it cover the entire house at speeds near what my router can max at (400mb) but It extends into the yard and detached garage near those speeds as well. Yes it’s expensive, but given the fact that using another brand I couldn’t even connect the satellite on the third floor, this product blew the competition completely out of the water. You get what you pay for and I needed fast Wi-Fi everywhere and that’s exactly what I have. Highly recommend

This posed a significant problem for all of our household IoT and smart devices. I was fairly skeptical of Netgear based on past performance issues and the price point. I’m excited to say The Orbi router with multiple wired backhaul works great for my large property and provides enough bandwidth to truly take advantage of my multi-gig fiber provider.

I bought the Orbi wifi 6e system after promising research seemed to indicate it was the best system out there for robust wifi coverage and a rock solid system. After all, it’s the most expensive solution on the market, so it must be top of the line, right? Wrong. The only thing that lived up to its marketing was the strong wifi coverage. We have a 3500 square foot house with a good mix of personal phones, computers and smart home devices, and I ordered 1 router + 3 satellites; more than enough. Like other striking similar 1-star reviews of this product, I work in tech and have a strong understanding of how networking / routers should work / need to be set up. From day 1, it was constant problems. Smart home devices either simply wouldn’t connect to the network (that had been perfectly fine on my prior router), or would connect to the network and have no internet connection. We’d have the whole internet just randomly go down for 10 minutes at a time, then just come right back up as if nothing happened. Mobile phones connected to the network would show connected but periodically have no internet connection. The amount of time I spent/wasted on this has been incredible; as I really wanted it to work. Between calls with our internet provider confirming it wasn’t them (it wasn’t), troubleshooting with our smart home devices that wouldn’t connect (not their fault, read to the end), it was wifi chaos for 2 weeks. As other reviews have mentioned, the Orbi app is the most unhelpful thing I’ve ever seen, surpassed only by the extremely poor Orbi admin UI in a browser. After 2 weeks I gave up and returned the system.

The speeds I get are consistent throughout my home (basement, first, second floor, garage, and patio) and coverage is optimal. This Orbi system solved all my problems. I get 3 times the speeds I was getting from the Eero. Teams calls and Remote Desktop now nice and smooth. I’m fully taking advantage of my fiber line thanks to this Orbi.

Me and my family got even more frustrated due to constant drops from my Google Mesh system and upgraded to the Orbi AXE 11000. Not only did the speeds improve exponentially but the only drops now are other Google Nest Hub products. I added an extra satellite for even more comprehensive coverage. I also discovered that the Orbi contains its own IOt 2.4 hz network that further cleaned up the 80 devices (security, etc I have running off our Wifi. Really an incredible experience so far. This product has very little drop in speeds from our ISP when it goes through the Orbi. Very impressive device and worth every cent!

So this single router provides whole home Wi-Fi with only minimal speed loss with distance from unit but it’s not as much loss as with the multiple system.

My house took 6 nest devices and had problematically slow speeds even w 2g service from the ISP. Just had bandwidth issues due to number of devices connected. Got frustrated and bought this system and instantly all wifi problems have gone away. It only took the 2 satellites but I added a 3rd bc I had already bought it and thought it would help for pool area outside. It’s expensive but is the best $ can buy and truly solved all of my issues. Super simple to setup and it just works

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing System We had a 5 node system from another very reputable company but it had too much trouble dealing with our 5000 square foot house constructed mainly of reinforced concrete. Signals just couldn’t get through certain walls. This new 3 node Quad Band system laughs at our house’s barriers providing end to end connectivity at top speeds. Sure, it’s expensive, but it is worth it. Rock solid and by all appearances built to last. Could not be happier.

I easily cap out at 980mbs down and 45mbs up inside and outside I get an astonishing 700-800mbs. So whenever I decide to entertain large parties with my projector I will never have to worry about buffering or slow wifi again! I know newer motherboards are supporting 6E as well so I have that to look forward to in the future.

We have an old farmhouse with multiple brick walls, so we purchased extra satellites to spread the signal out. Honestly? Our old Nighthawks almost seem to work better at times. Perhaps all of my settings are not entirely correct for our setup. If we find more issues, I will be contacting tech support to walk me through some solutions.

We recently had fibre optic high speed internet brought to our neighborhood and we now have over 500 MB. (I have died and gone to heaven.) I wanted to upgrad our wifi to take advantage of our new high speed internet. We had a slower Orbi mesh but I purchased the new 6e mesh system. Orbi mesh 6e delivers the speed (it is blazing fast) but I'm a bit disappointed in the coverage. We have a router and 3 satellites which Netgear advertises will cover 12,000 sq. ft. There are weak areas in our house and some of our devies (i.e. smart plugs) will sometimes disconnect. This is a very expensive mesh system. ($2k) Speed is great but I wish the coverage was a bit better.

As soon as I set it up, I decided to check what has been the most troublesome area, our distant room over the garage. I was pleased to have excellent up/down speeds. In the first week, there have been ZERO dropped connections, which had plagued us previously as we’d move around the house. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase, as they also offered a 15% veteran discount!

I had enough. I wanted the best of the best. And I found it: the Orvi router has worked FLAWLESSLY since I installed it couple of days ago. The app is also much better, simple and I can clearly see things like to which satellite devices are connected. Simple, fast and effective.. what else can you ask?

While the cost is huge ($3k), the ease of use and range is 100% worth it. We were able to reduce our ISP cost by $60/month and more importantly unify our network including the firewall security. This has dramatically improved productivity/efficiency. Our Wi-Fi now covers >5 acres and has made the ISP the bottleneck for both Wi-Fi and hardwired connections. It would be nice to have the ability to purchase a 3 satellite kit rather than a router w/2 sattelites.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster than 2 routers This Netgear Orbi Quad-Band had my iPhone speedtest over 900 mbps after an easy QR Code install, so I replaced 2 routers, numerous repeaters, and turned off the Wi-Fi capability of my modem. Previously, I’d only seen 250 mbps on Wi-Fi and 900 mbps on hardwire. Before buying the Orbi, I tried renting 4 Plume pods from my ISP, but they couldn’t even provide the range and reliability of my last dual-bad router. 100% telework in our smart home and running a YouTube channel has never been easier. The Orbi’s worth the money to have the fastest Wi-Fi we’ve ever had in every corner of the house with coverage in our yard.

I installed these in a star configuration at approx. 35' apart giving the two satellites clear line of sight to the router. I ran a 40' ethernet cable from the router to my cable modem. The setup using the Orbi app was simple and straight forward. Everything just worked the first time through. The separate IoT network works great, with no issues after adding 80 devices, which was the main issue for looking for a new setup. There are multiple computers, gaming systems, and streaming devices which have no issues when everyone at home is doing their own thing. I can easily recommend this if you can accept the high price point. Now I am trying to see if it is worth it to set up the wired backhaul...

The price for a router ranges from $50 to $1000 dollars, bottom line is you get what you pay for. This router is very advanced and will handle any internet speed out there with great range and still is easy to set up with a simple interface. This is a dependable router that’s not going to be outdated in a few years. Most people are paying around $75 a month for internet and tons of money for all there devices that connect to the internet, don’t get a cheap router.

I debated if the large difference in price between what I had and this one was worth it- but I’m glad I did the ‘upgrade’. Not only am I set with the 6E and future technologies, BestBuy offered me a 4-year program that would either allow me to upgrade during that time frame using amount of credit for what I paid, and/or get a full replacement at no charge if something happens again due to a surge.

For what this system cost I would have thought it would perform much better. It also allows others to connect even though I have new devices blocked? And when devices leave the network they disappear from the list all together so you can't look back and see what's been on your network

Having said that IF you have a large space to cover with solid WiFi this Orbi system is for you! The base and two satellites provide rock solid connections/throughputs on two levels of a 4,900 Sq Ft facility, this same area was “marginally” covered with 5 nodes!! This system performs!!

Just upgraded from a Google Nest 6E and I’m getting 67% more throughput and total house coverage (5,100 sq ft) with 3 routers versus 4 Google Nest 6E units. Literally plug and play with the net gear. This replaced my Linksys mesh wifi system which provided poor coverage. My house is 3000 sq ft and 3 stories. It took a few attempts at placing the nodes in the proper location but once I’ve located the best spots, I’ve had no issues.

I have a 3300 sq foot house, router is in the house, wired satellite in another building 60 feet away and the other satellite running wireless 130 feet away from the house. Replaced my Nighthawk R8000 with this setup and it maybe pricey, but it is amazing. I had an issue getting one satellite online. A simple reset of the system and then in synced up with no issues. Covers easily 9000 sq feet and then some. We have around 75 smart devices connected to this and nothing is slow low lags. Hope it lasts a good many years!

I replaced Nest Pro with system and the speeds are better with the same service at the routed and to each end point. No more poor QoS on zoom calls. Orbi handles the entire system effortlessly and without the video delays that I had with my other router that was provided by my internet service company. The setup was quick and easy. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi 960 Rocks! We were coming from an Apple Time Capsule and a Netgear Nighthawk repeater that were severely throttling our 500Mps internet speeds. After downloading the Orbi app, setting up the Orbi mesh system was super easy… you just click on the QR code, connect an Ethernet cable to your modem, then once the main hub comes online, I just powered up the satellite nodes and watched the magic happen. Then I renamed the mesh network so that it was using our old network name and all of our devices connected to it with no problem. After moving the satellites around I was able to get blazing fast WiFi speeds throughout our house and the backyard. It’s obviously not a budget system, but you do get what you pay for. Super simple installation, blazingly fast speeds everywhere in our house, and (hopefully) technology that will last us for years. Highly recommended product.

The AXE11000 is one of only a couple products on the market that is secure and future-proof enough that I know that it will meet my needs for years to come. Its backhaul is as fast as my 1Gig wired connects--so I dropped some of them, which cleans up my office a bunch--and its rock-solid reach to every device thoughout my house makes it worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Software lacking, but hardware seems good I have installed this quad band Orbi 960 series router with one satellite. The setup was easy, but instructions lack a little. Had to Google some stuff about IoT network. Also in the first couple days my app was not functioning properly, it would not show active devices in the device manager. Over all there are some good features, but I feel that the app still needs work. Example I should not need a subscription to a paid add on to blockba specific website. My previous D-Link router allowed that and it was 10 years old. I also wish it would show signal strength between satellites. Also for the hardware it seems to be good. I do not believe the range of the 5mhz and 2.4mh, reaches as far as my previous D-Link AC 3200 but I have not seemed to have any connectivity issues. Also with the router having internal antennas I question if it is truly a omni directional or closer to a flat panel antenna. All and all the hardware seems good, but they definitely need to have a better software experience. For the price point I feel the subscription services for security and parental controls is uncalled for. Plus I would like to see the signal strength between router and speeds for each device (which is swear it did do before an update)

VPN is more reliable, video conference never drops nor pixelates, streaming services launch in real time, etc. It exceeds my performance expectations. Setup was incredibly easy. It automatically configured for wired backhaul on first startup. Automatically accepting my prior network’s SSID and WPA key/password made a zero config for all of the devices on my network. Only negatives are the price and node size. The router and satellites are really hard to hide.

When i first got them connected, and began testing them with speedtest from octa, i was getting over 500mbs for download and over 600 for upload, better than the tplink i had, but now i am back down to below 300mbs upload and below 300 mbs download - they slowed down again - without cause. I have ran the speed test on my pc and my phone and the same - so $1k for no better router for my house

Was also able to eliminate an extender router due to the stronger signal strength with this new WiFi router. This was achieved with a wireless installation (i.e. did not hardwire any of the satellite units). I am completely delighted with the performance and ease of installation (only took about 20 minutes or less).

System was easy to set up and replace an 10year old NetGear WiFi system I had in place. only 4 stars because there is a sloppy process in setting up the IoT brand that needed you to log in using a desktop as it isn't available through the iPhone App. While it's nice to have an isolated band...you can't really see what's it doing nor can you allocate bandwidth to it.

My last one was the nighthawk 500 which was a great router but started to cause issues with bluetooth connections. After getting the orbi 960 I no longer have bluetooth connection issues and the wifi range is great covers the whole house without any issues. I would definitely recommend.

For the price, there is absolutely no reason that the app and the web based interface shouldn't be able to show me connected devices. No matter how many times I reboot and the firmware is updated, within the app I get the following in the photo I attached. This function has worked once since trading up to this mesh system from Netgear to accommodate the growing number of devices in our household. Go to the web based interface and shows absolutely nothing, no mater how many times I hit refresh. Sure I can see the devices in Access Control, but I would love to see the Mesh Points and their signal strength. Same as the iOS app, this function worked once.

We have a large property with another separate studio, and two Orbi's in the main house, one outside under a covered porch (in a waterproof enclosure), and one in the studio. Took a while to set up correctly but now very stable. Great system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong but finicky satellite installation I recently replaced my 7-year-old Linksys Velop Mesh system with this much more powerful Netgear Orbi system. Although the router was quite easy to set up, installing the wired ethernet backhaul to the satellites gave me problems for about a week. I found out that even though Netgear says that having an unmanaged switch in between the router and satellites, my satellite's kept dumping the connection, both wired and Wi-Fi, constantly, making it almost useless for the first week. I read on a forum that some had the same issue, so I direct wired the satellite via ethernet, from the router to each satellite, rebooted the system, starting with the router first and then the satellites, and once it came back up and reconnected, the wifi has been flawless. On the upside, it's a very powerful system with long range, and on Wi-Fi, I'm basically getting 900mbs download and upload speeds with my Verizon Fios 1GB fiber connection. With this system being so pricey, I would not have expected to have the setup issues that I had with a wiring configuration that Netgear says should have worked. The switches I was using were brand new, and functioning as expected, but with them sitting in between the router and satellite's, it created constant issues. I would suggest that Netgear get to work on ironing out those issues or remove that wiring configuration as an acceptable option. Aside from this set up issue, it's been a good purchase.

This represents quite an interference problem for whole house Wi-Fi. Having had good results with the original Orby at our home in California, we chose this product to deal with coverage issues here. For my house, I am using 3 router satellites (AXE11000) vs. 4 router satellites(AX6000) vs. 7 routers (Google Nest) to get acceptable wifi connection.

Sometime the mail router stops working and shows red light, and i have to restart the router. 2. I have reserved the IPs for most of the devices connected, but still it picks up different IP from the available pool, and because of that my Lifx bulbs and Nest Thermostat misbehaves. Given the price tag I would expect better results.

This was an upgrade from my Netgear Nighthawk Wi-Fi 5 router which was still going strong after several years but had some blind spots due to the way my building was constructed. The Netgear Orbi took my Wi-Fi to a whole new level. Not only are my blind spots gone but my speeds are crazy fast! Coverage is great too. I get a signal 50 feet plus away from my residence and I live in a densely populated area with multiple Wi-Fi signals from other area residents. I was worried the satellites in the mesh network would operate at a slower speed but that isn’t the case. This is probably the most money I’ve spent on a Wi-Fi router but it lives up to the hype. Setup is easy and Orbi handles multiple smart devices. I’m currently at 35 and growing. If you can swing the price, go for it. It’s the bees knees.

Why do I have to restart the router to apply static ip addresses, What is connection speed between hosts and router, what is connection speed between router and satellites. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blazingly fast I’ve always used Orbi’s for my home mesh wireless, but I felt it was time to upgrade my long lasting and stable RBR50 system. I chose the RBRE960 for its quad band and dedicated backhaul channel. I’ve been slowly upgrading my family’s cell phones so utilizing wifi 6E keeps my network updated to support the latest devices. Wifi connectivity is fast and stable. The router and satellites have fast boot up times and set up was super fast using the Orbi app. I don’t upgrade my wireless infrastructure often, so the cost of this system is justifiable given the years of use I will get from it.

My prior system was the ax4200 and after going with a fiber isp this upgraded has taken me to the next level. The AXE11000 is miles ahead of what I was used to and the change is noticeable. Netgear has me for life if the keep producing products like this.

This system was an upgrade from our last mesh system that could not keep up with the demand. When the old system couldn’t even stream the football game without major interruptions….it was time to upgrade! Setup is a breeze; just follow the directions. We have an L-shaped 1 story house so we went with 3 satellites to ensure complete coverage.

The 960 series installed easily through the app and after the annoying part, reinstalling everything in the house with the new system, the speed improved immediately! We were very pleased as the router brought devices up to their potential. We would highly recommend Orbi products and have been using this brand since 2016.

The reason for the change was due to dead spots in the home and constant WiFi signal drops on a daily basis for no reason. Needless to say, since I made the change I’ve not had one signal drop and the dead spots are gone. Setup was super easy via the Orbi app, no real tech skills needed, just follow the app prompts step by step and you’ll be up and running in 15 minutes.

We had to replace an entire system existing at our house to extend through our backyard to a second building. We’ve had the system for three weeks and I’ve had no issues! We love the app, and we have gone through a few winter storms, and it has made through a power outage and everything! Highly recommend this product! Well worth the money spent.

Note that some printers need to be pointed to the IoT in order to work. We struggled to learn what the problem was when trying to point to our WiFi. Another small negative comment related to the ordering process. The sale price on-line was not reflected in the cart. Both calls and chats with customer service reps did not resolve the discrepancy.

Putting it in bridge/ap mode required a computer and browser and could not be done through the app on the phone. Overall very pleased. It is very fast. Faster than my current internet service.

The speed is very fast (900MB download/800 Upload). Also, every inch of my 6500 square foot house (and a good part of outside) is covered. It is a vast improvement over the Verizon provided Wi-Fi router.

I would like it if it was the black one but I would have had to order it and would not feel safe left out side waiting for me to get home so I got the white ones from Best buy. It's still the same unit and it out performs all the routers I have had in the past. It makes my security system work much faster on live feed and streaming video is faster too. I now can take advantage of the full speed that I am paying for from my internet provider. So far so good. I noticed the difference and you will too. I think the Quad band dedicated line for communication between the nodes make a difference. Stop looking for the best, I think its here. You will need a fast internet speed good modem and the Netgear Orbi AXE 11000 will perform just the way you want.

They replaced the 850s and I immediately noticed their extended range and higher throughput. As I migrate to more devices using 6E the difference is every more pronounced. Would highly recommend. Def pricey but worth it if you wish to take advantage of higher speeds, range & multiple connected devices.

I needed to upgrade from my current system and chose the Orbi960 with 2 satellites. My current system did not need my ISP's Gateway/Router as it had that capability built in. It was connected via ethernet from the fiber ONT directly to the WAN input on the router. Unfortunately, the Orbi is not capable of that and requires the ISP's GW/Router to be the interface to the Orbi. (Strike 1). There was only a single card showing the contents of the box, and two pictures of the ports of the Router Base and the Satellite. That's it. The other side shows 3 pictures of a smartphone 1) download the Orbi App, 2) Secure the System with their Netgear Armor,

Except for some difficulties with older IOT devices, the setup was efficient/painless. Unfortunately, the speed loss has been significant. Verizon says the modem speed is above 900. Ookla SpeedTest says my wired connection to the router is 500, but that my strong wifi connection is only running at 50. I had expected smarter distribution of the capabilities to deliver faster speed to devices in use.

Home is 4000 sq ft and required 6 Linksys Velop router/nodes for coverage. With Orbi is only requires two devices but have three. The signal strength in all parts of the house is strong even with log walls. The app has great functionality and can test WiFi strength in all locations and store it. App is very user friendly and easy to set up. The one drawback is the cost but if you have a home with difficult layout or just want the best, it does cost a bit more but it is worth it. One thing I really like is the system when operating has NO lights or leds making router and satellites blend into background like knick knacks. Other systems have led lights on all the time. This system is all I had hoped it would be and more.

The Orbi’s are awesome and provide full Wi-Fi access across the house. One issue I ran into was connecting to VPN at my work on the main network. When a guest network is created, Orbi’s create a firewall between the 2 networks. The simple fix is to utilize the the guest network for VPN connectivity through work. Also, make sure to place Alexa, Google, thermostats, doorbells, etc. on the IoT network.

With “traditional” mesh systems you will sacrifice bandwidth with each hop. The Orbi system has a separate backbone that handles all of that. I’m experiencing 10x speeds in comparison to my previous mesh system.

The install was easier than previous installs. In fact the install only took this old Baby Boomer a couple minutes. My only gripe and the one reason why this unit did not receive all five stars, is that you are NOT able to hide or not broadcast the SSID (wireless network name) of your network. This is a total bummer, especially in this age of cyber awareness, that you are not able to hide the name of your network, so that others cannot see it in order to reduce the risk of hacking attacks etc.

After reading over 100 reviews, my mind was changed and I jumped on the Orbi train. My Nighthawk CM2000 and Orbi 6E combo is getting numbers I’ve never seen before on a speed check. It’s about twice as fast (700 mbps download) than what I’m used to!

So far I'm seeing 4-5 bars in all living areas of the house and 2-4 bars in the garage depending on location. coverage extends over most of my one acre and makes the idea of pulling cat6 or better a waste of time.

I have really just one complaint. It is not possible to setup a single point VPN connection. You can setup VPN from the router to an individual account. That might be a decent feature if one only cares about a few devices connected to VPN. The router is a single point device where I should be able to setup a third party VPN to control all devices. I imagine there can be a way to direct a device through a port that doesn't work with VPN. No single point VPN setup turns an amazing product into something less valuable. In this day and age this is a very big miss. Especially since Netgear does offer this feature on other Netgear Routers. Whats up with that!!!!

Getting excellent speeds across all devices, and this router has a much larger radius/ signal spread than RBR50. Wish I wasn't going back/forth to transfer the Armor subscription with the online Helpdesk. It's been over a week and still doing the back/forth. Netgear/Orbi Helpdesk is notoriously awful, so they are meeting my expectations in this regard. The system works great, though.

The finishing on the surface looks high-class, but it feels cheap as soon as you touch it because it is made out of plastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The WiFi 6E are solid. I switched from Google WiFi, and I must say, they were good. However, the 3-piece Orbi set covers what 5 Google WiFi units did. Not only that, but I also have more control over my network compared to what I had with Google. With Google, I faced limitations when it came to configuring many of my IoT devices. However, with my Netgear setup, the configuration process feels natural. Moreover, the Orbi network even has its own dedicated IoT SSID. The process of converting my network from Google to Netgear took about an hour, and for the most part, everything was working smoothly. I did encounter the need to delete some cameras and add them to the Orbi network, but overall, the transition was manageable. I am extremely satisfied with my Orbi WiFi 6E Mesh System. It has proven to be reliable and efficient. Thank you.

I've tried multiple other wifi systems in an attempt to gain reliable service, and this is the first product with the bandwidth and the device capacity to live up to its claims. Great job, Netgear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Performance and Range We live on 2 acres in the country outside San Antonio city limits and wanted a system that could broadcast our Wi-Fi signal out from the house to our detached workshop that is about 150 feet away. To our amazement, this Orbi satellite system accomplished that and more! Now we can get an excellent signal while working in the shop or walking the property for yard work. The house is only 1400sqft, the router is in the middle of the house, one satellite is at the back of the house facing the shop that is 150 feet from the satellite, the other satellite at the other end of the house facing the front of the property. I can walk down to the front mailbox almost 200 feet away and still have a signal. 100% satisfied!

Covers nowhere near the area that it claimed. It’s constantly dropping connection. This took a matter of minutes to set up, and my Wi-Fi is blazing. Worth the $$$

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi AXE 11000 review I have had a ransom ware attack on my computer and I need good protection from future attachs. I purchased the Orbi AXE 11000 AXE for that reason. I purchased directly from Netgear because I knew I would need support. When I received the router with 3 satellites and went to install the system I could only get 2 satellites recognized by the router. I also had difficulty getting my computers connected to my printer. The support people contacted through the phone number provided with the system were very helpful and walked me through the process of getting the printer and all 3 satellites connected. It took some time but the agents were very patient and understanding of my situation being hearing impaired.

Was able to setup quickly with no problems and tripled my speed to over 1Gb upload and download. Also customization was easy as well with clear menus and both a great mobile app and online experience.

Hooked up the orbi router and imidiatly jumped to a comstant 920mb all over our 4000 sf home with 15 devices connected. The satalite has pushed it so I can walk anywhere in our 3/4 acre property and still have service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi RBKE963 Quad-band WiFi 6E Mesh System I replaced my older Orbi AC300 with the newer Orbi RBKE963. I utilized the Orbi app by selecting “set up a new Orbi system” and followed the steps. I did use my previous name and password to avoid re-entering passwords for all my devices. Once the router was setup I added the satellites to the system. If you happen to swap out your modem you will have to reinstall your router. If you do this make sure you install the router WITHOUT the satellites attached (or anything else). Once the router is working you can add the satellites. If you try to connect router and satellites all at once it won’t connect! Learn from my mistake! Now it’s up and running I can say I am happy with the performance so far. The only negative is the price of $1499 and that you have to pay for app security protection. At this price point it should be free. You may be able to find an open box Amazon return that will be significantly lower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbi 960 wifi 6e I was a bit worried how this system would do as i had an orbi mini wifi 6 system that would not consistently cover the house and shop area as needed. I purchased the additional satellite to cover the shop, the others in the 960 system covering the house. I have been impressed as i have had zero issues with streaming or connectivity even inside the metal shop. I will give the mini system to my son as it would be perfect for his house. Speeds have been consistently higher than before.
