Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still Having Issues!!! Part of the reason I upgraded to wave was so I could have a wired internet in remote areas in my house. The wire keeps dropping out along with the wifi internet to an older PC and I need to reboot to get it back. I have ordered a new cable modem to hopefully resolve this issue. I also have cameras and lights that still run with 2.4Ghz that I'm having issues connecting with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It disconnects at least once every day When it's working, it works well. But it keeps disconnecting at the oddest time for 15-20 minute intervals. I don't know why yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BIG DIFFERENCE Upgraded from Wi-Fi 5 dual band to the mesh MK83 and there was a big difference in my download and upload speeds. Before I was obtaining 143 download and 9ish upload and now I am seeing 211 download and 11 upload. I have no dead areas in my house, pool house and backyard. Very impressed with this system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 1.75 Acre Coverage The satellites were a little annoying to setup, but once they were added to the Router I was able to unplug and move them where I wanted them. We are getting Wifi in our Garage, Barn, and entire backyard. The house sits on 1.75 Acres and we are getting Wifi everywhere including down to the mailbox.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent mesh LAN solution I bought the MK84 four pack on sale - a MK83 plus a free extra satellite were shipped. The setup process was made difficult by different sources specifying different procedures, not all of which worked. The documentation did not adequately cover normal questions. For example, there was no mention of how to ensure the 2.4 and 5.0 GHz networks shared the same name and password. (The system does his almost by default but that isn't discussed in the setup sections of the manual.) A frequent user problem - see reviews - is pairing satellites with the router. Just get the router up and running and use a wired ethernet connection from a computer to the router then forget their phone app; forget their documentation; create a connection from your browser to the router and login. On the basic page's top-level menu select the connect a satellite option and following instructions. That works. Once the system was setup and my three satellites were deployed things have worked well. But there are minor problems. Example: I transfer full backups once a week from LAN computers to one that stores them on an external disk. All computers are wired to the router or a satellite. Typical backup size is 100+GB. Transfer speeds vary from 17% to 65% of the 1Gb/sec wired limit even though there is little or no competing wireless traffic. (Flow control is turned off.) Basically performance is not predictable on a lightly loaded LAN. Overall the system works fine and its limitations do not call attention to themselves so I'm happy with my purchase. The best thing, though, is all the wiring I've been able to clean up. I now have room to put a cup of coffee on my desk and I don't have so many wires to separate from curious cats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Big 5 star First I have about 1700 sq.ft. to cover. This is perfect for a family of 4. My whole house is ran with wi fi. Very easy to setup and the modem was easy too. I called my internet provider to make sure the modem was running good and thumbs up. 35 minutes up and running. Running 1Gbps for my home and pushing out more than that with my setup. Using modem nighthawk CM2000 with this Tri-band Mesh WiFi 6 system. Big 5 star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good wifi network for the average home with a big patio area. I find this network device a very good purchase. A mesh system cured a lot of blind spot issues. I would recommend mesh wifi for anyone even if there old wifi was working well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This system is a game changer. This system is great. It’s easy to setup and even the additional configuration options are easy to get to and understand. Coverage is fantastic. I went a bit overboard with main router and 3 satellites, but as they say, go big or go home! I’m getting up to 900+MBPS in some areas of the house. Weakest signal I’ve seen at all has been 268MBPS, which is still more then enough for streaming.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TRASH.. Beware I bought these in October and they have been nothing but trash. They advertise 6k SF and my house is only 2500 yet I have a massive dead spot. They say you have to have the satellites within 75 feet of each other. Got it. It will not stay connected. Once it drops I have to reset the entire system. My husband works remote and we thought this system would be perfect… makes it almost impossible to work. Tech support is absolutely no help minus wanting to sell warranties and pro support. At this point I will be buying a whole new setup and it will not be Netgear. Do not waste your money. I read reviews and they definitely do not match the product that I received and how it works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Total Coverage for a great price I have been using the MK83 for a little while now and things are running smooth and flawless. I have tried to use the setup both wired and wired backhaul and I must say, I am very impressed with the results of both. I have a full fiber network and pay for 1024 down and 500 up. I get 942 down and 498 up. We are a have traffic household. I have connected, at any given time, 70 plus devices on our network. Plenty of hardwired and wireless devices running all at once. I have been able to run 2 Xbox, 1 PS4, handful of streaming, and my kids playing Roblox with no LAG or buffer. Even pulled speed tests and was still getting 728 down and 415 up. Our average usage ranges from 1-3 terabytes per month if that helps?! When it comes to coverage, I have a unit on each of my 3 levels of my house. My house is from 1914. I have steel siding and recently had my entire house dense packed with spray foam. Walls are old school with plaster, Sheetrock, and brick. Needless to say, I have lots of corners in my house. I feel like I have the worst of the worst kind of setup when it comes to network but these units still work great. I am able to feed all my cameras around my house with zero issues. I have placed on unit in my window to feed my backyard and garage with internet. The garage is little over 100ft away from the house and I can still pull around 700 down and 400 up. I have cameras out there as well and run them with no issues. Long story short, these little units pack a big punch. If you have issues with dead zones or you are using an ISP provided router, you won’t be disappointed with these units. They did wonders for our home network.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised Setup was easy. The system worked within a half hour of opening the box. My house is older with plaster walls, lots of metal in the walls. The system gives seamless coverage over the 4,000 sq. feet indoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from When it works its great Got this system to replace out existing netgear router which had issues extending out past out living room let alone to the door bell or thermostat that also needed wifi to work. Thinking this would be a better solution given that we don't stream all that much or play video games having a wider range more reliable signal would be better. Unfortunately, this mesh system works about 50% of the time. The 50% of the time it works its great I get full coverage out to the shed at the end of the yard. When it doesn't work it can take hours to get a connection back no matter what method of resetting we try. We end up just using the supplied router from AT&T which is better all around but doesn't reach certain areas of the house until we can reconnect the mesh system. Netgear tech support is useless, if you're not a member of the club they don't support their products issues. The second I can find someone who wants this system I'll be looking for a new company to invest in for my wifi needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not At All Impressed for the Price I’ve had the AX 3600 for nearly three months and am not impressed with the speed or connectivity. I purchased the mesh system thinking buffering and bad connections would improve throughout my home, which is 4400 sq.ft. I have the router and two satellites, which equates to one unit on each floor. The speed is actually slower than my older model NETGEAR and one of the satellites keeps getting knocked out of sync with the router for some reason, which creates connectivity problems. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve rebooted and synced the system. For the price, I was expecting more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Setup extremely painful Setup took hours, waiting for 'connections', timing out, satellites not adding. It took 5 minutes just to see IF there was a more recent firmware, not even to download and update it, go figure. At some point, the satellites just seemed to connect even though I'd been repeating the same steps - dropped out a few times but staying consistent. The app says I have no satellites, while the web interface says 2, so hoping it is working and stays that way? After moving one of the satellites, it seems you have to do the whole resync process and troubleshooting all over again. I'm setting this up for my parents, if they unplug, move one, or have a power outage, this could be a huge issue re-connecting, as even I am struggling with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reviews People should be skeptical reading reviews that are posted just a few days after a purchase of any product. I’ve implemented this system 3 months ago in my home and have had numerous issues that still are currently unresolved. There are other sources that have reviewed this system that reflect my concerns. My 2 cents!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GOODBYE DEADZONES!!!!!!!!!! I was privileged enough to be able to participate in the Beta Testing for this amazing system and, therefore, I did receive a free pre-production model. This, however, in no way has influenced my opinions of this device. Now that the legal disclaimer has been met, let's get down to the brass tax. I absolutely love this system!!! My property is 11,723 square feet with a 2,300 square foot home on it and I have not found a dead zone yet, since I received the MK83. I have a wife that has been working from home for the past year and is perpetually connected to her company's VPN, on VOIP conference calls, and video conference calls and she has experienced ZERO issues. This is also combined with my mother-in-law, who streams at least 16 hours of television everyday through Hulu, Netflix, Prime, or HBO Max and a daughter that will stream her video games, while watching her anime shows, and while video chatting with her friends. Do I wish that it had more ethernet ports? Duh, who doesn't, but I love that there are 3 on the main unit and two on each satellite. This way you can have wired connections in the remote areas of your house and if you set them up in your office or entertainment centers, you will enjoy two wired connections with less latency. The mesh system is amazing and seamlessly transitions to the next strongest signal as you walk through your home and/or property. I did experience some issues with my WiFi speaker system due to it being connected to one satellite or router and my device being connected to another; however, with the implementation of band-splitting that is now offered, no further issues persist. Now for the aesthetics. What can I say? Gorgeous!!! These devices fit in seamlessly with my decor and people are none the wiser about their true nature, unless they see the cables from behind. My congratulations to the Netgear design and engineering teams; as they have truly outdone themselves this time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kinda meh Just wish these satellites provided a better way to force connection and/or adjustment to force connection (have fixed Netatmo cams). Also the trial for security services would randomly block access to devices as well as impact the peer to peer communication that impacted HomePod comms direct to phone. Wouldn’t be so bad if the advanced panel actually had advanced controls and granularity to control security services etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not purchase without plan Sounds like a great offer then 6 months after the 90 day warranty expires I started having issues where it would drop connection. Netgear would blame my ISP, ISP blames equipment. When I connect my old Linksys AC device it would connect immediately. Save yourself the trouble and get something different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stylish and functional Wow this set really goes beyond my expectation! Here is why: - They are so stylish. They are very neat and compact sized, in almost a box shape (THANK YOU, with a modern geo surface that would pair so nice with my TV stand in the living room as well as my desk where I put them. This is the most decent design I’ve seen in the market place. - They are so easy to set. With few steps of plugging ins and adjusting, I have the system all set. I thought it would take me quite a while but no it is not. - They DO the job, in a GREAT way. This is the most important part – the functionality. I can totally feel the difference after I set these up. I tested my internet speed before and after the set up just so I know the difference by data and the speed goes beyond double afterwards. And connection is very solid and stable, never got a drop. - They cover widely! I have no problem using the wifi either at the back yard or even in the front yard, or at the basement. Very reliable connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome speed and coverage!! I received this product as a sample, and I have been using for a couple months now. I have received multiple updates while testing and before it became available to the consumer. It got better with each update and NETGEAR listens to feedback to make sure the product performs as intended. I work in IT as a software designer and I know how to use and setup technology, but I am no networking wizard. The setup was very easy using the Nighthawk App which is easy to find on the APP store. I used my Galaxy s10 and scanned the bar code on the router and followed the easy to follow instructions on the app. You can use the browser to access more advance settings once you have completed initial setup in the App. The App features and settings are fine for the most users. I like that I can see devices connected to the mesh and I have control to turn off access to the internet. There are multiple tools built into the app to show and help with your Wi-Fi setup with placement of the satellites. You can see your signal strength and see which Wi-Fi channels you are using compared to others around you. I appreciate the parental control built into the App which help me with making sure I protect my family. My house is approximately 4500 sq ft and I have 3 floors including a basement. I use this with Fios, and placed the router in the basement, one satellite on the first floor and the second one on the second floor. This system replaced the Fios G3100 and an extender. I still use those to my TV service but turned the Wi-Fi off, it’s used as a bridge for the Fios one boxes. The coverage is beyond an improvement, I used to have dead spots around the house and my wireless security cameras were the worst affected since I am not able to move them for a better signal. Since installing and suing this system, I can access the cameras faster through its app and the quality of the video is better. I can get a signal outside my home in the front and backyard which was always an issue before. The performance has improved drastically. I have over 50 wireless devices, a mixture of TVs, phones, cameras, laptops, google homes and plus multiple wired devices. The Tri-band and other features in this router makes a huge difference over my previous setup. The processor on the router is able to handle the traffic without any hiccups, with 4 adults and 2 teenagers there are multiple devices been used at the same time and no one complains about slowdowns anymore. The no longer have that issue with either wireless or wired devices, all my Wi-Fi 6 devices can truly shine, and non-Wi-Fi 6 devices see drastic improvement in performance and range. Streaming services are better with less buffing and I can take advantage of my 1GB service. This was the best mesh system I have used, which made major improvements to my network, both in performance and coverage. I would not hesitate to recommend this product to anyone and appreciate the work and continued support from NETGEAR to improve to product. I have used other Wi-Fi 6 routers and mesh systems and this one has the more features and control. Others I have used did not give you access to advance settings, like port forwarding and more through the browser and was only available through an app or was accessible through a wired connection. This product is perfect for every and anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very fast Setting this up started out shaky. I ended up having to unplug and restart the system twice before it worked. Once it did I got great speeds. Faster than my previous mesh system. I do wish there was a way on the app that I could see the signal strength for each satellite so I would be able to beat position them. The only reason I didn’t go 5 stars instead of 4 is because when I leave the system and come back, I often have to forget the network and reconnect. Which is a pain. Even if I’m standing right next to the router. I don’t understand why it’s doing that. If these two issues could work out I would go 5 stars. I honestly would go 4.5 if I could. This system has 0 dead zones. My other mesh system would have issues going from one satellite to another and the internet would drop off. Doesn’t happen here. Based on what I read online, they made some huge improvements over older systems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome setup, much needed for our home This system is top of the line, my family and I have constant connectivity problems due to multiple streaming devices at the same time. After setting this up and placing one cube in our office, our living room and an upstairs bedroom we have a better and lasting connection when streaming movies or playing video games. The speed is definitely better as well. The setup really is quite easy, if not the directions are relatively detailed, but our office is upstairs rather than downstairs and I know the amount of walls and the nodes can have an affect on the connectivity. I would suggest netgear, we also have purchased netgear products in the past and know its a very high quality and lasting brand. It has really made a difference in our home when our kids have devices and we have tv’s and computers in use at the same time. Anyone with a large home could really benefit from a 2 to 3 node mesh system to improve their internet strength, speed and connectivity. Awesome system!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Customer / technical support is the worst The NETGEAR Nighthawk AX3600 or MK80 / MK83 works ok. But technical support is the worst I’ve dealt with in 30 years. I bought 2. I was able to return one but I’m stuck with the other one and 2 unresolved issues. One with the app. And the 2nd one with speeds dropping to under 8 Mbps. Support will just close your tickets/cases without escaping them. After saying they would. I’ve called them back on it and at least with the app issue. There is nothing they can do. Just like that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Junk Complete junk. First I am a senior wireless engineer so I have ...some basic knowledge of wireless networks. I decided to upgrade my wireless mesh system from asus to this nighthawk wifi 6 system...biggest waste of $500. Constant wifi issues I don't think I've gone a while week without the wifi crashing. And no it's not my internet. I have Google fiber and all my hardwired devices are fine. Wifi not so much. App crashes or just doesn't work so I ssh into the router and see all the hardwired devices and wifi devices...but not of the wifi devices work. I've tried different channels opening up ports etc. Nothing works. Go back to my asus...rock solid. My satellites are hardwired in as well. Save your money go with asus

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong signals Really happy upgraded to this. It's the latest and greatest. The two satellites you get with this are really great and work very well. I am now able to cover all parts of the house including the garage. I don't have any signal drop issues anymore. Would strongly recommend this to anyone who is looking to upgrade especially in todays work from home mode of living.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightning fast The Netgear Nighthawk Tri-band AX300 Mesh WiFi 6 system provided me with lightning fast speeds and generous range in my home. You can really say goodbye to dead zones after installing this WiFi system, as it covers every area of the house. It was a breeze to set up using the Netgear app, it took almost no time at all. I like how it’s basically ready to go once you set it up, but if you want to tweak the settings of it you can. The two satellites that come with it work great, I was able to spread them out so I can maximize the area covered by the WiFi. Places where I usually had low WiFi signal now have full bars! I’ve noticed my speeds have improved as well, and streaming movies no longer buffers! It’s been very stable so far and has not lost connection at all. The design of the base and satellites is superb, they look very sleek and modern. I highly recommend this mesh WiFi system to anyone looking to future-proof their home or business and achieve full coverage and high speeds when it comes to your WiFi system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extended wifi I built an office in my garage and needed to hardwire my work connection there. I got the mesh system and it sends the signal all through the house with no issues at all. Thoroughly impressed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product - disappointed by defective satellite My order included a free Satellite speaker that was defective - tried numerous times to sync with system - even attempted to restore satellite speaker to factory default - think I was just given a defective satellite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good speeds, low reliability Throughout the day the wifi signals drop several time compared to my previous $80 night hawk. The speeds when it’s working are fast but not reliable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't fall for the speed I bought this as I just upgraded my internet speed from 500 over 500 to gig service. I know I will never ever get 1 gbps speed as everything comes with * condition. But, I didnt expect to receive WiFi speed of 400 over 300 after I setup this mesh service. And I didnt even keep one of the two satellites more then 15 feet away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do not buy Satellite connection speeds drop and have to reset frequently. Have put the satellites within ten feet of router clear of obstruction and this still occurs with default router settings and otherwise. I am an avid fan of netgear products and have used their nighthawk series for years. Extremely disappointed with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Thing Ever I have zero dead spots in my home. From my front lawn to my back fence. I have signal from at least one of the satellites. My speed in streaming and gaming is amazingly high. I have recommended this is about 4 people. This is a must buy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't assume, don't rely on "apps" so much. I'm still deciding how to rate this. In the beginning, I was suddenly experiencing dead-slow speeds on a daily basis. After applying the latest update, it helped, but it was still happening. I had to reboot the router every single day to keep it working. Since then, I found the Armor security (which should slow it down) and the WPA3 setting to the 5G service helped stabilize it further. I have not experienced speeds dropping below 100 Mbps since. This should have been clearly indicated on the router's settings pages. Also, the Nighthawk app should not ever be the primary interface tool. Not everyone has a smartphone or wants to use it just so they can set things up. Everything should be administered through the router's website. Overall, I think more work is necessary to make it work as well as it should.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally after a week of frustration. After a week of calls to tech support, I figured out my connection issues on my own. Tech support was no help. I accidentally discovered that the router and the satellites (2G 5G) had to all have the same name. Just adding _2G or 5G after the same name as the router.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup, Solid performance. Setup was easy, Phone app is easy to use but you can also access via local web as well. Overall performance seems good and coverage is solid in all rooms, Streaming and console gaming over wifi has been good (Have had this up and running for just over a week, no issues so far. The one thing I might mention, I am not a big fan of having the security portion of this device being subscription based. that said with the way things are it seems the direction everyone is going.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have had good luck with this system I purchased this system directly form Netgear and it has been operational for 3 months. It was easy to set up, although you have to be patient when setting up the satellites and give them ample time to get fully connected. Don't panic; just wait until the light on the front of the unit turns blue. So far, the system has been dependable and performance has been good. The satellites have fixed the areas in my home where I was having trouble getting a consistently strong signal. I cut the cord with my cable provider and switched to a fiber-based internet provider. I have been streaming content to multiple televisions. I have had very few issues with streaming; the issues I have had were not the fault of the router. I typically have about 20 devices connected to the system.
