Easy to Connect and Use
Not much to say about this, except that it connected easily to our M402n. It holds enough paper to get us through the day, and we've never had any problems with jamming.

Good addition to HP M402DNE
PROS: Tray is supper easy to add to the printer. Basically place the printer on top of this tray. The M402 printer accepted it well and knew when to auto-select it. Was very smooth to install. The tray accepts most sizes, up to legal, and is well labeled for configuring it to a non-standard size.
CONS: First thing I noticed was that the back of this tray extends back a little further than the back of the printer. That means you can't keep it flush to the back of a desk next to a wall. The reason for it is that the tray allows for larger size sheets. It's not really a drawback, since it gives you the flexibility of different size sheets. The only other complaint so far was the price. I would think this tray would be a little lower price, especially if you compare it to the price of the actual printer.
Conclusion: If you want the flexibility to hold two different stocks at the same time, or don't want to fill the printer that often, this is a great buy. Overall, the cons are negligible.

Just what I needed!
I was a bit skeptical about installation when I received the feeder tray, but after a brief examination of the basic printer and this extra feeder tray, installation worries vanished. Just set the printer on top of the Feeder Tray, and SZAM! It only fits one way and works immediately. No further setup is required.

In the few months I have owned the sheet feeder it has done what I needed. Particularly a 500 sheet capacity so I don't have to change paper as often.

Perfect compliment to my M402n Laserjet Pro
Super easy set up. just set my printer on top. Electrical and mechanical connections fit together perfectly. Both the original and the new 550 feeder trays can be set up for letter to legal size paper. The beauty of this additional tray set up is that the original smaller tray built in the printer still works. I load it with legal size paper and the new 550 sheet bottom tray is filled with letter size paper. Very pleased with the total functionality of this combo.

What can I say except the feeder tray was so easy to set up and use that I do not see how a person could go wrong. Unpack the tray. Set the paper size guides inside the tray. Lift the printer and line it up over the the tray. Lower the printer onto the tray, and you're ready to go. The enclosed instructions were minimalist but sufficient.

Almost perfect
Easy to order, unbelievably easy to install (just set printer on top of the tray), and works perfectly. Someone warned me of noise on their older version, but this one is about the same noise level as without the large tray. Good job HP. My 'tiny' little wish would be to have the front of the tray always open so you could just slide more paper in without the tray opening process. Opening the tray makes it look cleaner so I get your choice. Oh, the software works well too.

Purchased this for shipping labels. Instructions in manual are not correct. For shipping labels you do the opposite of what the manual states (label pointed upside down in direction you need to print).

Worked great. Large capacity of plain paper is always handy. 550 sheet is perfect because when you are down to the last few you don't have to worry about adding a 500 sheet ream overflowing causing misfeeds.

I purchased the LaserJet Pro MFP M428fdn and couldn't stand that I was constantly running out of paper. This is a great addition to that printer. The printer would have been perfect if it held 500 sheets to begin with. Easy to set up and use the 3rd drawer.

Less paper handling
This is a great addition to my home office. I would have given it 5 stars but when it gets low on paper it starts clicking and not picking up the paper. I then I have to reboot the printer, fill up with paper and reset my printing order to continue.
