A very high quality color laser printer for any busy office or personal setting
Having decades of experience with laser printers, I chose this particular model because I needed both a small footprint and color capacity. Unfortunately, I did not read the fine print and there is no WiFi capability with this model, but it is located 2 feet from the router so that wasn't much of an issue.
The quality is supreme. It prints photographic quality images on a multitude of mediums and I've found it even prints on index cards without jamming.
My only issue has been communication and having to hard boot the printer in order to clear out the cache and allow printing to continue. That troubleshooting is outside my wheelhouse, so I will continue doing what I'm doing. It works.
90% of my printing is done on cardstock, 45% double-sided, and I've found the speed and quality to be within tolerances that one would expect from a consumer-grade color laser printer, if not slightly above. It was a bit pricey (and the toner is outrageous) but overall I think if it will accept after-market toner then I'm set for a while.

Antiquated software
This printer while prints fine, will not stay connected to to the server. You cannot program it to say on while inactive for longer than 59 minutes. Once it shuts down, then it needs to be reconnected to become available to the office computers. Claims it will AirPrint, but it will not. Spent hours of staff time and consultant time trying to make this work. We would be better served throwing this away and buying a more updated printer. This won't even make a good boat anchor as it isn't heavy enough, but probably more satisfying throwing it in the water than trying to print with it.

Not a Wireless Printer
Description said it was capable of wireless printing but its not unless you buy a gadget to hook up to it to make it a wireless printer. Returned and bought an actual wireless printer.

Econ mode is too much
As business we need to have it on always. It is always a delay, sometimes Windows can't connect back to the printer because printer was sleep. We should be able to disable this ECO mode completely.

firmware problem?
When I first received this printer it had all kinds of problems such as taking 40 minutes to actually print something and well as papers printing on opposite sides. My hands were tied and I could not work due to all the problems with this printer. I contacted HP support and they said it needed new "firmware." After the new firmware was installed, the problems disappeared. It is working fine now but very disappointing to have a new printer have so many issues from the very beginning.

Perfect high quality Color LaserJet for small office/home office.
Bought this to replace a comparable but much older HP CP2025dn. The M455dn is a very nice color laser printer that is enterprise quality yet is priced reasonably enough for a small office/home office. Keypad makes it easy to access the embedded web server to set a static IP address on your network and configure many other settings as well. Tip: enable IPSEC on the printer so that logging onto the embedded web server via a browser and https: does not ask you to bypass the requirement for a valid certificate. This printer is quiet, fast, and reliable. It has 1.25 GB of RAM for storage of large or multiple jobs.
