Ordered the HP - black and the range of colors - and they worked immediately. I know that HP said to only order HP cartridges, but I thought that was for marketing purposed. And crazily, the price was not that different. I'm sold! Only replace with HP cartridges!

The reason I only gave it two stars is because of the expense of a small amount of black ink. My other printer is an Epson and I just bought a bottle of ink for it that was about 1/3 of the price And considerably more product. The Epson seems to be a better printer all around.

Lots of ink on my hands as I tried to protect the carpeted floor, although a ton of ink also got on carpet. HP said to send all 4 cartridges back and they would replace for free, but it looked as though they did charge for new cartridges. Haven't checked credit card yet, but I will not be happy if I had to pay double for one set of cartridges.

I used to use a generic cartridge set, and that worked quite well while saving me a bit of money. Then my wife purchased an HP laptop and tried to print something out. The laptop discovered the generic cartridges and shut the printer down. I had to purchase HP cartridges to be able to use my printer again. So be careful if you prefer to use generic cartridges.

When I replaced the three colors, I again had to replace the black XL. Since the end of my ink contract, I have had to replace all my XL cartridges twice. But this time, I loaded the new cartridge and got a "low ink" signal, even worse than the almost empty cartridge I replaced. The printer refused to print. Quality control missed this one.

The quality of the print sucks but when I need a quality job I use the HP Printer. Howeber I went for Epson because HP does not have a home printer that copies back to back and prints back to back because if the did I would have stayed with HP but the cost of ink became the biggest factor.

Ipurchased two black XL and the first one I installed threw codes of after market and not original HP. First time I shut down, restarted and it printed once Just to throw code again with no ability to print. After following through all directives on correcting, U bit the bullet and installed the second one which worked perfectly . Will HP honor their product and credit my account for the defective cartridge? I have it and the box I thought I had discarded. If you want it return for inspection, please send me a prepaid mailer. Rated 5 out of 5 by from delivery problems I have purchased HP ink twice in the last few months, both were delivered by Fed-Ex and left in a snowbank the last time (I had cleared the sidewalk and porch before delivery and it was dry, so I don't understand why delivery person threw it into a snowbank). Also, in October, a package of 5 ink cartridges was thrown down in the freezing weather. I couldn't find the package until 2 days after delivery. When I tried to use my printer with the new ink, I thought my printer didn't work, so I purchased another printer, to discover it was the ink ruined, and too late to return the ink cartridges. It was very expensive. I wasn't notified until too late to make a difference.

I do a lot of home printing and I find that the High Yield Ink Cartridge saves me time and money because it really does allow me to print more pages per cartridge.

The price never comes down despite the "economy of scale" in ink manufacturing. For an "inventive" technology company, HP can't seen to "invent" a way to wean themselves from extortionist ink pricing.

This is a dependable ink source and the print itself is always clear. The cartridge is easy to insert and really lasts an incredibly long time, especially considering how much I use my printer.

The printer has firmware that will not allow me to use any other brand of cartridge. I have tried it several times, to no affect. If you're going to purchase an HP printer, get used to spending for your ink cartridges.

I would not have tried the free trial if I knew you would brink $125 worth of ink. The print ink model was already a scam, now itis criminal. I will tell everyone that I can tell.
