We have several HP printers in our office and have to purchase different print cartridges for each printer. Then, when the HP printer breaks, as they often do, we are left with unused cartridges. It would be so easy and so customer friendly for HP to standardize their print cartridges so that the cartridges could be interchanged among different printers.

Have been very satisfied with the results, especially when printing photos. They are every bit as good as what you get from professional shops. HP free shipping is amazing and I can't find a better deal on ink locally.

I ordered the 564 black ink cartridge because thats what was required but there was nothing to tell me there were two different 564 black cartridges. I only found this out after spending about an hour online going to various forums and found literally hundreds of complaints. This was after opening the package and attempting to install the cartridge. No more HP products for me. I just wonder how many times something like this has happened with other HP products.

Called in to HP to get them to send working cartridges, initially they told me they will reship them to me. As of today, they are giving me the run around. I will not be buying ink from them anymore! I only gave one star because it wouldn't allow me to give zero! This is a $400 printer! No reason the cartridge should be empty.

I hate this printer the HP photo Premium. I am afraid to do anything with it as it runs out of ink so fast. These cartridges are lousy, but I feel I have no choice at this time. In the future I will be looking for a new printer after much research.

When my new HP printer said I was out of ink, that's when I discovered that the combo packs did not come with a black PHOTO cartridge, and I had to go buy more. When I inserted the old HP PHOTO cartridge just to get my work done, I received all kinds of messages about counterfit cartridges. It seemed HP was more worried about that than they are about helping me keep my business needs going. I tried to let HP know about how disappointed I was, I was sent an email to products but nothing ever happened. Please include the black PHOTO in your combo packs is my suggestion.

Had printer about two yrs old, used very little and order new ink because printer won't work if one ink is out. Ink jets go out, ink is a mess everywhere and just wasted my money on the new ink. I will not ever buy HP product again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drips on outside of cartridge? When removing the cartridge from the box the first time, I noted ink drips on the outside. After installation, I printed 2 pages of text, that's all. Then got a message stating that the black ink cartridge needed to be replaced. I took it out and re-installed it, hoping to "trick" the printer into thinking it was new. No such luck! After 2 more pages, the print was not readable (light, streaked). Email to HP did not offer relief for this problem. Also problem with color 564 cartridges.

After replacing the ink and NOT printing out any photos, my ink supply in the photo cartridge showed that it was 50%. I talked to a HP rep. and he told me that there was nothing that could be done and HP knew about the problem. I had to replace all the inks and I have been printing in just black, but the printer uses all colors just to print black. What a waste. I called HP and they were of no help.

I don't print hundreds of photos a day but some times more than other days. I use bo5h the standard and the XL except black because it expires bebore I can use it up. I get great photo copies with this ink and my printr. I have 2 photo printers and use the older one for general pictures I can use my memory card from. Not hookedup with computer.People I have given pictures to have said the pictures are really good and the color is really good. I never use outside company for my pictures any more.

If you buy the XL bigger cartridge to save money as black gets used the most, you can not use it to print pictures. Not a good feature since I bought this specifically for pictures.

Checked cartridge installation and noticed vents on new cartridges smaller than originals. Cleaned out vents as instructed by HP Printer Diagnostics. Printer still not working. Not sure if cartridges the issue or the printer, eventually bought new printer. Had no issue with previous cartridge purchase.

Once I finally figured out that I needed two different "black cartridges"....I was confused and then mad. This is price gouging. To have to order and pay for seprately a black cartridge for photo printing is highway robbery. Also these ink cartridges do not last any time at all...just more greediness.

I had the same problem with the black cartridges and I was talking with the HP rep at Best Buy and we both discovered the mystery of the different black inks. I knew I needed to replace my black ink because of a message on my computer, but I didn't remember which one and I couldn't buy until I had gone back home to check for sure which cartridge I needed.

You get so few prints from them that I will soon be able to buy a different printer with money saved by not using this one. Also the two black cartridges are so poorly marked it is easy to get the wrong one. They have a symbol to distinguish between the two, but the symbol is on the product on the inside of the package!!!!! I am not a happy camper with this product, but have been a loyal HP user for many years.

No, I actually lost money because I had to throw them away because they didn't perform correctly. I've learned my lesson now....always get HP ink cartridges if you want great photos/pictures for your HP printer. Now w/these, my print outs are perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smaller 564 Black cartridge I am having the same problem as mjj420 from Swedesboro, NJ; I can't seem to find the smaller black cartridge anywhere ( the one the has the symbol that looks like a bowtie on the cartridge). I have bought several & when I get home the are the same size as the 564 black XL but the box didn't indicate it was the XL. My printer is more or less useless without this ink cartridge. Why did HP stop including this in the multipack?

HP needs to return to manufacturing printers that employ this or a similar photo cartridge. It allows photographs printed with this cartridge to show more detail in shadow, black, white and highlight areas of a photo.

It is probably not the cartridges fault but my printer that cannot decide if I have a bad yellow or black cartridge. When I seem to repair one the other sounds an alarm. This Photosmart 7525 must be dead and to think that I have spent more on ink then I paid for the darn thing, what an idiot!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Questions, No Answers There are three 564 Black ink cartridges. The 564, 564 XL and 564 Photo. So what is the difference? From what I can tell: 564 - Standard cartridge, approx. 250 pages 564XL - Large cartridge, approx. 800 pages 564 Photo - For use when printing photos. Although the product description doesn't explain why, or how it is better, or how many pages/photos to expect from cartridge. Why don't the color inks have photo versions? Maybe the explanation is in the user manual for the printer. Or maybe somewhere else on this site. Or maybe someone from HP marketing could expand the product description to explain why we should buy this much more expensive ink to print our photos.

Also the many anoying "POP UP WINDOWS" it throughs up when I am in the middle of working is just not right, I wish I could turn them off !!! I do not need to be reminded to buy ink every few minutes, once theses windows start they just don't stop !! Plus the ink cart. are way to small and expencive!!! Also the "PHOTO BLACK INK" is hard to order your web store is very vauge on this product!! I have ordered this and gotten the large "Regular Black Ink" many times, in fact I have enough of the reg. ink to last me several years because of this. I will never buy a wireless printer again!

When ordering the packet of cartridges (color and block), only the larger black XL is sent. But the printer won't work if the smaller (photo) black is low on ink. It took me over three tries (over a period of time) to figure this out. Why isn't this cartridge included in the packet? You need all 5 to make the printer work properly! Couldn't find the Photo black in Office Depot, Fred Meyer or Walmart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not impressed I have 3 HP printers and got this Photosmart D5460 to keep it close to my desk for printing invoices and receipts, but I'm really disappointed with the short lifespan these 564 ink cartridges have. My network printer (Photosmart C6150) uses 02 ink cartridges and I get a much longer lifespan out of those. Then I have my little Photosmart 335 photo printer with one little tricolor 97 cartridge outlasting the 5 separate 564 ink cartridges, which really bugs me. I tried the 564XL and they are OK but cost so much more. I'm just not impressed with this predicament at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cartridge Fits Poorly In Printer Be careful when ordering this product! I just purchased four HP photo ink cartridges from Apple to use in the C309G printer. (This is an original product with the model number shown on the package above - it is the new thin model which is supposed to fit into the middle of the double photo slot). Three of the four do not fit in the photo slot, even after reading HP's advisory on fitting it in the middle of the slot (it does not seat in the slot at all and does not click into place properly) - it did fit loosely in the black single slot (did not click into place) but would not fit into the photo slot at all. This is the same model as shown on the package above. Now I will not be able to use the printer unless I can find an original larger size cartridge somewhere. Of course these products could be defective but three of four is unlikely.

This photo cartridge does not fit in the "T" slot of the printer---opposite side of the latch---, because the cartridge has the "T" upsidedown.

Others received in an order, including one like this, and those that came with the printer I purchased last year (Feb. 2011) had ink cartridges that didn't expire until Sept. 2012 and some until Dec. 2013 !!

Further investigation showed that the (photo) version is only for 5 cartridge printers, not the 4 cartridge type like the b210. The (photo) designation is not obvious on the package and, in any event, would not have raised an alarm. IT IS INEXPLICABLE THAT HP WOULD USE THE SAME MODEL NUMBER FOR INCOMPATIBLE ITEMS. THIS IS MY LAST HP PRODUCT. I am VERY UNHAPPY

Love the convenience of ordering directly from HP's site. But the last ink cartridges I ordered have me shaking my head! Bought photo ink. Used it a couple times and it's too low to print anything! Other colors seem to drying up or evaporating or something. I need ink - now - and am weary about ordering from HP. I feel like someone has burst my bubble.

At 2 different Staples stores in Manhattan the manager was called and said, " There is only ONE Black. The two are interchangeable. Period." In my current order with HP, I am not at all sure which or both I am getting as it is not clear to me from the HP picture. I appreciate this notice today. I loved my past two HP printers and recommended them to everyone. 7520 NO.

When I went to install the black photo, it did not fit - too narrow. When I needed the black ink, same story - it was too narrow. The store would not take it back because I bought it too long ago, even though their employee said I needed that size. Need to label box wide and narrow to help avoid confusion.

The only thing I am unhappy with is the cost of the replacement ink. I can get a NEW HP printer for the cost of replacement ink.

I purchased an XL and another which was obviously a smaller size. Selection was not on the shelf, and the clerk gave me a small and a large, but none for photos, which was the one that I needed.
