Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good bang for the buck I'm still setting up & haven't had too much time to use but I am a little disappointed in that it operates on limited platforms ie. phone iPad. These limit you to these devices pixels. The Garmin app is cartoony and cannot be used on a laptop. Besides a projector you need a Chrome caster to cast the picture on screen. But for $600 it is the best deal for the poor man. Because all the others make you pay big$$ for the software play, this does not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The right tool Glad I went with the Garmin Approach R10. It provides great insight into my ball striking. It also allows me to practice more efficiently indoors. I would recommend it to someone who is trying to get better. It easily integrates into a indoor sim, while being a good feedback tool on the range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Value First a bit about me, I'm an 11 handicap player who has taken a couple of lessons. I play at least 2-3 times a week and at the range at least 2 days. When I decided to put a practice net in the backyard I knew I was going to have to get a launch monitor and thus started my research. I had narrowed it down to the R10 or the Rapsodo, and decided to go with the R10 and I'm happy I did. First, in order to get good numbers I recommend the Titleist RCT balls, I found they were much more accurate. For me, the distance was spot on, whereas the Rapsodo was off by 20yds or more. I was most interested in the ball flight path and when I started using the RCT balls and kept the monitor at 8' it worked very well. The amount of stats it records is staggering and for me they were pretty spot on. That is, except for club head speed, there's no way I'm swinging at 110mph and my son at 135mph. Definitely an issue there but the rest of the numbers look good. The other issues, the case is enormous and definitely a negative. Garmin, please make a secondary case that just hold the R10 and the stand, it would be nice and compact and much easier to carry in the bag. Also, the R10 only comes with a one month trial whereas the Rapsodo has a one year trial. That would've been a nice perk for sure. Overall, for the price you can't go wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accuracy and consistency? Not sure how accurate it is. I've used it now for about three weeks and keep getting different readings. at times it won't record my shot. it's pretty touchy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Invaluable Tool for Training I first bought the Rapsodo MLM and it worked fine. But, I had two issues with it. Our driving range faces where the sun come up so I had a hard time seeing my iphone sitting on the Rapsodo, and then after a while my iPhone overheated. With the R10 my iPhone is attached to my golf bag with a sun shield over it. In fact I use my iPad instead of my iPhone attached to my golf bag for the R10. Now I have a much bigger screen to view my shots. I take the R10 every time to my driving range now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits the bill for my @ home training and fun. I've had this a little over a month and It definitely does what I need. I primarily bought it for driving range like practice and simulator fun in my garage. Primarily to keep my swing in shape and to give me and my boys some fun things to do. I took it to my local Trackman to test its accuracy and it was mostly spot on. The distances were within 1-3 yards. Let and right it was a little different but definitely close enough I can see an accurate shot shape. I'm looking forward to using it on a real range this summer and think its going to help me dial in what I need to work on. Glad I bought it...100%

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still the one I have been using this device for two months and at least 20 sessions. With proper alignment the feedback from this device is constructively instructive. Spin, face angle, club angle, launch angle, club speed, ball speed, etc. Benchmark your start numbers and work to improve at a reasonable ‘greatest economy on earth’ at 20% inflation this device stayed the course in price. A real bargain for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin R10 Bought R10 a few weeks ago and very happy with the product. Really liked Home Tee Hero along with a few courses from E6. Using the practice range a lot and confident with accuracy of stats that launch monitor provides. It’s fun playing Home Tee Hero courses and E6 has really nice graphics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device to help you improve Bought this device to help me understand and improve my swing. After using it for 3 weeks i can say it is just what I needed. The feedback from this device allows provides instant feedback and i can already see the improvement in my game. I’m a high handicapper but i feel this will be useful as my game improves. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a cost effective launch monitor to understand an improve his/her swing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like the product The tool provides great insights and is easy to use. But the fact that it doesn't us USB-C is ridiculous. The shortest little micro sd charging cable makes it a bit more challenging to keep charged.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great sometimes I bought a month ago and love the feed it gives me. Club face & path are the best. Bad thing is I’m using in doors so I use ALMOST GOLF practice balls, for when I hit worm killers, and sometimes it doesn’t pick them up. It seems that if there’s no side spin it misses them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from seems to work as advertised Distance is really bad, but better with the RCT Balls. The Garmin App is terrible for accuracy so you'll need to get Awesome Golf or some other App for real data.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great device but app needs to be better The device is great. Setup was easy but a bit finicky to pick up RCT balls at first. The Garmin Golf App is atrocious however. Yardages are significantly shorter than E6 and Awesome Golf (which are pretty dead on with yardages). Also the app should have an iPad version to help with simulation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for winter time a little let down on accuracy I love having the ability to play virtual in the winter time that is a huge plus. My unit seems to miss pretty often below 60 yards or so as well as when driving. Overall I’m happy with the purchase but the missing of shots (not just accuracy but not reading at all) leaves more to be desired. Great value

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trying not to embarrass myself It’s been 25 years since i played and want my Grandsons to play. Hitting into a net doesn’t tell me anything. The Garmin changes the game for me, I have my phone mirrored to my 40” TV on a table outside, with the information and graphics it’s Awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Practicing and Golf Simulation I have it set up outdoor using a net. Having a great time practicing and playing rounds of golf with my friends and kids. Overall it seems very accurate. Chip Shots, Drives, fairway shots. I was able to easily find the golf courses that I frequent and pay in the golf simulatior.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent , especially for the price! Had it about a month and having lots of fun with the grand kids in the garage on simulation projection. Have spent some solo time on the range on projection screen, watching ball flight, checking metrics of distance, face angle, approach angle, etc. Have found this practice has truly improved my results in the real world on course. Only thing that can make it better is for Garmin to improve the realism of their virtual courses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good for direction, spin, etc.-not distance I like using this for practice sessions into a net, but the distance figures are about 15% low compared to what I see on the course. I have tried everything that I have seen recommended. It is still a great tool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A lot of features for the price For the price point this device can absolutely provide insight to improve a golfer’s game. Issue with the distance accuracy of the unit and the need to have 16 feet of space to use indoors may be a deal breaker. For a portable outdoor launch monitor it’s tough to beat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Alignment & Distance I purchased the R10 2-weeks ago and have only used it afew times due to severe rain storms in California. I recently updated the R10 firm ware to 4.3 version, which has really improved the distance gap and the side spin has improved quite alot from the 2.03 firmware. It's very accurate with irons 7 thu SW. Fairway woods and Driver seems to be off 8 to 15 yards but I'm still tweaking with it and once dry warmer temperatures return I'm sure everything will be fine. The side spin has been the most help to me improving my alignment addressing the ball. I'm really impressed overall and excited about playing the Golf courses. I use it outdoors for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great to Dial in and Fine Tune I bought this to help me figure out everything about my shot and it did not disappoint. Was able to correct multiple aspects within in a couple practice sessions and it has paid off nicely. Club distances, launch direction, club path, attack and launch angle are all able ot be fine tuned thanks to this little guy. Also fun to play in the virtual golf courses with friends and challenge others in competitions for some added value. Highly recommend for a starter tracker to improve your game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate, portable, and easy to use I picked up my Approach R10 around Christmas time. I have been using it nearly every day, and have seen major improvements in my swing. It is compatible with many different simulator software systems: Home Tee Hero (Garmin's Virtual Golf), E6 Connect, TGC 2019, Awesome Golf, GSPro, and more. The accuracy is the R10 for the price is impressive. The statistics that it gives you are what you would expect from a top-tier simulator. You can use this in an indoor simulator setup, at the driving range, and also on a real golf course. Overall, it's absolutely worth the $600.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far so good Just started using the R 10 and so far, I’m enjoying it. Ising it with the E6 app for iPad and have only been on the driving range. Also tried Home Town Hero and played a few courses that are near me. Great fun

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Quality Has a launch monitor, but sold it to upgrade. Glad I did. The set is REALLY easy. When I’m on the different sim apps, sometimes have to waggle the club to get the red light to come on. But pretty accurate. Took to the range and measured shots w monitor and range finder pretty accurate. Screens freezes sometimes on Garmin golf hero. E6 and Awesome Golf work great. Only use the free apps for E6 and AG though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Approach R10 Home Driving Range After using the Garmin Approach 10 for a little over a month, I could not be happier with this product. I had a driving range mat and net for the back yard but would only use it to hit 15-20 balls. Since adding the R10 both my son and I hit balls 3-4 times a week. It has increased my swing speed and I am now hit the ball better than ever. We are currently using only the driving range feature and it is unbelievably accurate! I love the swing capture feature. It has caused me to make several adjustments to my swing, all with positive results. My son has been using it to get ready for his High School season and I can’t believe how far he is hitting the ball. The data really helps you to understand your swing. We can’t wait to set up the garage for the winter and play Home Tee Hero. Great product Garmin and thank you for making this affordable for the average golfer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not happy I’ve owned it one month bought this to practice at home during the winter so far I haven’t got an accurate reading indoors yet. I bought metallic stickers, turned of ac unit, fan, lights ect still get ridiculous numbers. Took it to the course an the numbers were a lot more accurate outside but that’s not what I bought it for. The home tee hero course down load was somewhat accurate from my home course but I tried to play a neighboring course that I’ve played a lot an it was totally off. So far it’s been a total waste of money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely accurate results so far! Very happy. Golf simulator room isn’t fully set up yet so I’ve only done the driving range and I am impressed already. Looking forward to playing the courses next.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works and is really good When the weather is cold and can’t get outside, hitting into a net doesn’t tell you much. But using this really allows you to see distance and whether pulling it or pushing, etc. and you can figure out why—it shows if clubface is open or shut and the club path. So you can make corrections. I was also able to cast it to my tv so can see it big screen. Wish they had some more explanations on what the data means and how to use it to correct. Well worth the purchase price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Closest thing to a simulator you’ll ever get. The range mode is awesome and if you’re feeling fun get the membership and play whatever course you want to play. The accuracy is out of this world. I am very satisfied but also shocked at how great this product is. I was very skeptical.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME TECHNICAL ANALYTICS A shoulder injury stopped my golf 10 years ago. I just started back 4 months ago and the Garmin R10 is getting me back on track rapidly. Once you have it set up accurately - it provides incredible swing statistics that accelerate learning. For the price - it is the closest thing you can get to the very expensive launch monitors and it provides me about 95% of things I need to know. Things that you can't see like spin, ball rotation, swing path, attack angle, launch angle, and smash factor can be the key to playing great golf BUT they can also be the factors that stop you from playing good golf. The R10 solves these problems by presenting the factors that can help us all improve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Working Great We purchased two for our golf team to use and so far, they are working great. We've have only used it indoors on the range setting, and we have not played any of the courses yet. I'm sure we will be utilizing this down the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of Equipment I bought this product and have used it 10-15 times now and I love it. There is a little bit of a learning curve to getting everything set up and the setting adjusted just right. But this is a great way to be able to understand your game. I just wish the base was easier to align properly and that the Garmin app had at least 1 free course to play without having the membership.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Doesn't work indoors despite claiming it does I bought this to use in my basement in the off-season. While it works at the range, I cannot get it to work indoors despite consulting with customer service. The indoor readings are ridiculous. Attached is a screenshot of a descent sand wedge shot I hit. As you'll see, the R10 said it went hardly anywhere and yet I supposedly had 159 mph clubhead speed.....with a sand wedge.....at age 71. I'm pretty sure that's way wrong. And it's not a flyer. All the other readings with other clubs are equally bad. The room is big enough. Distances from ball and net are correct. Alignment is correct. If Garmin had some other secret sauce that makes it work indoors they need to detail it in a manual.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple setup - more fun than range I’ve only had this a month but already I’ve played about 20 different courses around the world. The extra $100 bucks was well worth it to have tens of thousands of courses available. The ability to SEE the numerical difference behind a good and poor shot has made a huge difference for me. I was too far from the ball. LOL Club head speed and angle have continued to improve now that I am aware of the little details.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the price the Best you can Get I take it to the range each time. After a perfect straight shot I adjust it and its great. Great distance readings. Does not show you flight shape but for the price that's OK. Shows you where the ball went, great. Sooo many readings, great. I think the battery life is great. I hit for about 1 hour each outing and after 5 outings it wasn't low but I just charged it to be safe. This product has helped me improve my practice time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Having a little trouble syncing with me phone I bought the R10 to use at the range for practice. So far I am on my third unit . The first two would not sync with my phone. Garmin has been helpful in sending me replacements . The latest unit appears to sync now I just need to get to the range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Approach R10 won't stay connected on the range I bought the R10 about 6 months ago. The features are very cool and accurate. However, each time I bring the device to the range to practice, after about 20 minutes, it loses connection to the phone and wont stay connected. I have to reset it and reconnect and repeat. I have called this into support and they tried to help me, but without success. I have sent the logs in from the app and the device weeks ago and still have heard nothing. So, there is a problem with the device and support cant seem to fix it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrible Worked very poorly, didn’t trac 90% of shots. Either indoor or outdoor I was out door 99% of the time, for whatever reason I would recalibrate would register 4-6 shots in a row then have to recalibrate when no variables had changed. Do not recommend if you’d like a monitor just get a big one for indoor in your home or go golfing. Not worth the price at all

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dissatisfied. Still trying to set up for accuracy Even after watching all the videos and calling customer support, I am still not getting accurate readings, and have lost all interest in this valuable game improvement tool, while it does read some short irons accurately anything longer than a seven iron will produce almost the same distance under 170 yards Yes I’ve tried setting it 9’ + from the impact screen outdoors. I have also set up device at 6 to 8 feet behind the ball and still nothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Learned so much in such a short time Have been playing and training for years but using a launch monitor really spurred things up a lot. Finally understand what it means to twist and tweak things in set up and swing, seeing the result … at first disappointed as the feedback is numbers and pretty harsh (you think you do well… guess what, you don’t), but then you adjust and you see and feel your performance go up. I have 6ft11inch behind my mat and equal distance from ball to net. Lighting good, height 9.5ft. Fitness flooring tiles. Only when I make a hit that causes a very low flight (practically rolling) it may not measure, but that is ok because I know what I did wrong. In all other cases the accuracy seems to be really good now that my swing got better… before it was off I felt, but I now know that it was likely more with me than with the radar… value for money for me, addictive too… 30 balls a day, each day another club and then occasionally 9 or 18 holes… fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from R10 - Exceptional value. I did a lot of research before I decided on the R10. Setup and pairing was very easy. HOWEVER, the first time I used it, I set it up next to my instructors $25,000 launch monitor and the results were amazing. Distance was within a couple of yards, ball speed with within 3mph, club path and face angle were within a couple of degrees. Really glad I got it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to set up and use. Got this as a gift and was hoping to use it in the basement. Installed an impact screen and bought the mat to hit from etc. First few shots with wedge were almost as expected but seemed to measure short. Then went through all the clubs and found them all to be consistently, noticeable short. I normally hit a wedge about 100 yds , 7 iron about 140, 5 about 170. I am not able to hit anything close to that! i normally hit a drive 230-250. With the R10 i am not able to hit over 200 yds I have messed with the distances, elevation, etc but have still yet to find a set up that seems to be close to accurate. Still trying, but this will need to be corrected if I am ever to get decent use from the R10 and playing courses, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great but Wedges are awesome feed back. Pw thru 4 iron distance is off .According to your web site pitching wedge loft are 48* thru 49* . My PW is 44* , that mean all of my iron are off by 4* . I wish there was a way to adjust loft . On my Swing Caddie you could adjust lofts . Garmin is better I agree but you should be able to adjust loft for today’s iron . Then Garmin R10 would be 10 out of 10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Launch Monitor I bought my R10 three weeks ago and absolutely love it. The only regret is that I didn’t buy this years ago. This has totally changed the way I practice. Now I have real imperial data at my fingertips telling exactly why and what my ball flight is doing on every swing. I know my path, my club face relationship to path, ascent and decent angles. Now I know what I need to change and where I need to improve. Absolutely everything all for a fraction of the cost for the other brands. Now I am going to build my own simulator studio using my R10 on a projector and retractable impact screens. Cannot wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A break-through for senior golfers. I stood on the sidelines trying to justify the price… big mistake. I am so glad I bought the R10. Several reasons. I don’t have the capability to create an indoor simulator. My usage will be on the driving range. Sometimes I struggle to see the ball, unless I have a clear blue sky as a backdrop. This is no longer a problem. I can see the shape and launch patterns of every shot- this in itself becomes a strong learning tool. I can now coach these tendencies into better shotmaking. Also, my carry and total distances can now accurately calibrate all my clubs. This is largely due to my purchase of the Awesome Golf software. Its compatibility of the R10 compares favorably with Trackman for accuracy. So now, compared to beating balls all day, my practice sessions have become purposeful. I had my doubts that the R10 could benefit a 74-year-old golfer. I now I wonder why I didn’t make this purchase sooner. I am really motivated to dial in the accuracy of my shots not only to lower my scores, but to bring the fun back into my game. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to improve their game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is what it is Gives you a good starting point to get your distance dialed in to with in 5 yds. For the price you would think you would get a few more numbers such as ball speed and swing speed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy. The Garmin R10 has performed as well as I was hoping. As far as accuracy I think it is pretty to close to the numbers on the course. The one downfall so far is chip shots is chip shots of short bump and runs. It takes a few chips until the Garmin will pick up a shot. I will admit it is very annoying when this happens. Everything is aligned like it is supposed to be. I hit off a mat in my garage. I also have updated and still misses the chips. Overall it was a good purchase for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tool for cold Midwest Winters! I've used the R10 at the indoor driving ranges, and it stands up well against the Trackman for total distance and launch direction. The R10 does so much more - not just ball and club speed, but club path, face to path, back and side spin, and you can film your swing as well! What a great tool!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Statistics feel consistent with ball strike. This is my second launch monitor. The data produced feels more consistently accurate than my previous monitor. I like the options of data to have available following each shot. Easy to review data. I used the monitor for 13+ hours before needing to recharge the battery. No more batteries to buy! Love that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything You Need 1. Easy to set up and use. With in a minute you can be hitting golf balls. Some PLMs are slow, difficult to initiate. 2. Compact size. Easy to carry around. 3. Great battery life. You can hit hundreds of golf balls and still have battery life. 4. More than enough technical date than you will need. 5. As accurate as PLMs get. Data is reliable enough to give you the feedback you are looking for. 6. Indoor/ outdoor usable. Had no issues with either option. 7. No special golf balls to use. Works with all golf balls and accurate. 8. No subscription (annual charges) to access data. 9. Game play is available. Don’t really use this feature but has many differ game play options. (Some require subscriptions). 10. Does not require too much distance to use. I hit into an outdoor net and device unit to the ball and ball to the net distance has never been an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I expected More than I hoped for! Was looking for a way to make my backyard into the net sessions more worth while from a learning standpoint. This does that and more! I absolutely love it! Very easy to use and it appears to be pretty accurate based on comparisons to actual driving range numbers. Easy to set up and use too. Like I said, I love and would recommend it it to any one looking for an entry level shot tracker and simulator.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ups and downs I bought this last year and it has gone through alot of changes. Pros: Having multiple courses to go to in the nation and getting use to a course in my area. The software update to the driving range has been good, the landscape change has been nice and I can use it wherever I want. Cons: sometimes it is inconsistent with finding the ball at the range, it needs to be level all the time and cannot be unlevel areas. Would be nice to have it be more consistent when hitting balls at the driving range. At home it works great, but sometimes it will not catch some balls closer to dusk. Cannot putt on the garmin and wish they would add putting to compete with other simulators. Overall its a good product, but they need to add more features to help out the average golfer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing device for your money Gives plenty of swing feedback really more than an average golfer could use. The big issue I have is the distance accuracy very annoying that it’s consistently 50 to 80 yards off from the distances I know I can carry probably wouldn’t recommend buying due to this

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool piece of tech, but Garmin app is inaccurate I bought this a month ago and have mixed reviews. The garmin app it comes with does not give accurate readings. I would flush a 6 iron and it would say it went as far as my 8 iron, sometimes shorter. There are other apps with simulator software like awesome golf that work very well, but require an expensive subscription. Doesn’t make sense why the garmin app can’t be as accurate as the other ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just learning after 20 years I like the features such swing speed, the left to right deviation, back and side spin. problem is in my garage distance seems to be 40 - 50 yards short. tells me I hit a 5 iron 90-100 yards. I'm not a long-distance hitter but at the driving range I get around 150 yards. I'm waiting for it to get warm enough outside to use it to compare numbers. My garage is cement floor and it does say that affects the radar. So, I'm working on covering floor with indoor outdoor carpet. Then I will be able to get a more accurate reading. For now, I'm more interested in just learning to hit the ball straight. It does that fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from APPROACH R10 IS AMAZING I spent two hours on the driving range my first time using the Approach R10. I'm very data driven. The Garmin is awesome. It provides you with all sorts of data regarding your swing and you can play many courses if you get bored with swing statistics. Worth every dollar and is comprable to the Bushnell, which cost close to $5k. Great value, all in for a total of $800.00 bucks. $610 for the Garmin and $60 bucks for an extended warranty and $100 for the 1yr subscription to 42k courses and I also bought the leveling/mounting stand for $30 bucks recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Budget Launch Monitor This is hands down the best launch monitor for anyone on a budget, I have less than $3500 wrapped up in my entire setup, that includes a R10, Country Club Elite Mat, Spornia SPG-8 driving net, 6 dozen RCT balls, 65" TV and wall mount, ipad, and automatic ball dispenser. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool but lacking some accuracy Its a great tool to practice with however I question some of the metrics. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I wanted After my R10 arrived I followed the recommended way to set it up and started hitting in to my net. I love that it gives the same results as the Golf Galaxy equipment where I started taking lessons. I just took up golf again after my retirement and I can listen to the recommendations my instructor gave me after a lesson and can quickly see if my club path and attack angle are where they should be. I haven’t had it to the range yet, only into my net. I really like.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really? I purchased the R10 about a month ago - and I have to say......It's worth the price of admission !!! Lots of analytics therefore if you are between a high-end weekend duffer and somewhat trending towards scratch - this is a great tool to add to your golf tool bag. I am a Pelz guy, meticulous with my short game and wedges and subscribe to the 3 positions (7:30, 9:00 and 10:00) with my wedges - I can now hone in to "see" the carry distances for my four wedges (P,G,S and L), let alone the driver characteristics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great home simulator I have had the Garmin R10 for about a month. I have figured out how to properly use it and set it up. I would highly recommend David Maxfields videos on YouTube to help you get the most out of the unit. I have been hitting balls mindlessly into a net in my basement for years. Now with the Garmin R10 I know how far I hit each shot and get instant feedback on what I am actually doing when I hit a shot. Practice is fun now and I also like playing the golf courses on E6. I can’t recommend this unit enough. It’s been a total game changer for me. I live in the northwest and getting to play golf from November to March is almost impossible. Now I can practice and play some golf and not “try to find my swing” in spring. I am a +2 handicap so this is great unit for better players as well. Bottom line is I wish I had bought this sooner.

Great bang for the buck. The bad: It just doesn't read every shot. Also, the unit needs to be 6-7' feet behind and level with your ball. It's hard to have that setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Looking Forward to Garmin Software Upgrades I tested the R10 vs a Trackman at the local Golftec. Measured variables such as club speed and spin rates compared well with Trackman. Carry distance and other calculated variables did not compare well. Carry distance on the R10 was short compared to Trackman by 30-40 yds with driver and 10-15 yds with a 7 iron. My hope is that the Garmin software team will include a variable in the software that allows a manual adjustment for carry distance both on a shot by shot and club by club basis, but also on a global basis as a percentage increase. These adjustments to the software would greatly increase its utility as a performance tool, as well as, its enjoyment as a golf gaming app. I would be happy to test any future beta versions of the Garmin software when they are available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love hitting the range with the R10! I've had about 6 range sessions with the R10 and love the feedback the unit provides. On my first session I set the R10 up next to a launch monitor that cost about 10X the R10 price. The distances were +/- 2 yds, the speeds were within 5 mph and the Garmin provided some metrics the other unit didn't offer (such as angle of attack). The spin rates were way apart (+/-1000 RPM). Love the ability to capture associated video. Also love the ability to provide voice feedback after each shot. I feel like I've only scratched the surface of this units capability. I'm excited to continue to learn more about the unit and play better golf because of the feedback and if nothing else, the R10 makes practicing fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price point I just got the R-10 as a gift from my wife. I purchased the complete hitting bay and from there, it's off to the golf course in my garage. So far so good. I have only used it a few times but I think it's pretty accurate regarding distance and L/R fade/draw info. I did find that it had some trouble with shorter chip/pitch shots but the more I used it the better it responded. Not sure if it was me or the R-10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny Swing Data Junkie Delight I only use the R10 for swing analysis, not for games. About 1% variance to my $20K Trackman. Detailed data gives instant feedback to quickly fix swing faults. Discovered that max accuracy requires lining device's red center line directly behind and level with the ball. Would like more than blinking LEDs for device and battery status; should be included in the app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I started to get back into playing golf again. I bought the R10 to help get me back into the swing of things. I used it on a range that had Top Tracer installed, and the the data that the R10 captures compared to the Top Tracer was by far the better product. I really like the video capability that Garmin has integrated into the R10. Extremely happy with the Garmin R10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Diatances off indoors I bought this to be able to use indoors as an indoor sim more than taking to range. It works well at the range, but in my garage, I am getting very short distances. I have an impact screen that is 10 feet from hitting surface and have 8 feet from R10 to the screen. I have tried all types of things to correct. Please help as I feel I need to return this if this is the only solution. I will gladly update this review if able to get a solution to this issue as the device would be perfect otherwise. I read on the garmin forum that this seems to be an extremely common issue. Please help

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for indoors, outdoors--not so much yet. When using this in an indoor driving range, everything works well. It appears to be tracking and projecting my shots. It makes me think I'm a better golfer than I am. When I take this outdoor, the unit only picks up about 12 shots out of a bucket. I've brought out a tape measure, a laser level, tried sunny days, cloudy days, and moved positions around the range in case the backdrop was causing interference. Nothing seems to be working. I may try the mounting plates people are using online but if one is needed, why doesn't Garmin just include it? I'm not picking on Garmin either--I almost exclusively buy Garmin products for anything requiring GPS. Maybe I got a dud.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No PC only application is a big downside! I am still on trial mode and the fact it holds my cellphone hostage is a big downside. Also distances seem over exaggerated even after calibrating. On the good side, I like the other stats like spin, club path, etc. For the price it does OK.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for the price I bought this just before Christmas and haven't had a chance to check it out until now. You just can't beat it for the price. One thing I was looking for was the spin direction and revolutions that isn't available in units in this price range. This unit has that and much more. I've only used it indoors, but based on what I saw there, it's a keeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin Approach R10 Launch Monitor works great I bought this 8 months ago and am finally writing a review on it. I use this when I was going to the range to see how accurate it was in measuring the ball flight and distance. It did really well and I was happy with it. I really like the club path, ball path, and the attach angle to show me when it's a good hit ball vs a poorly hit ball. I use a couple of different apps with it. For golf range simulation I will use the standard Garmin golf range but will mainly use Awesome golf App. It shows you a lot of info in regards to club face, club path, ball flight and of couse carry and total distance. Awesome Golf Launch monitor for the cost. Much cheaper than those more expensive launch monitors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s Got Potential, But Not There Yet The R10 really has potential as a cost effective launch monitor, but it has some deficiencies mostly with the software app that, for now, give it a lower rating. First, good, it’s small, light, easy to setup and fast. It tracks shots quickly and accurately (compared to stats from my SkyTrak). Where the R10 fails is the iPhone (only!) app. First, there needs to be an iPad app to use the larger screen size. Next, the driving range functionality is limited. There are wonderful stats for each shot, but getting to those stats from the range view is a 3-click process, it’s terrible. Furthermore, only the default range features allows the iPhone screen to turn horizontally which is a must for indoor ranges with a screen projector. All other features on the app are vertical only. Even the very nice course-playing features (with LOTS of courses included) is vertical only, which limits the experience. MAKE THE SOFTWARE BETTER, FAST! Also, while the R10 picked up every one my swings (47 years old, 4 HCI, 95 mph swing speed), it missed a lot of my daughter’s 3W and driver swings (19 years old, college golfer, 85 mph swing speed). Not sure why, but I have videos capturing the problem. Overall, I really want to keep the R10 and sell my SkyTrak because I see the R10’s potential. It’s just not there yet. The software needs a major upgrade first. Maybe next year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Distance always short. I bought this a month ago and the distance is always short. I’ve watched videos and bought a alignment stand and laser to try and correct and still having issues. Tried moving back device and net and calibrated multiple times with no success. The positives is you can play courses before going out and get an idea with the hometown hero. Always have to club up 1 to 2 clubs though. Overall it’s fun but wish the accuracy was better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from not as good as expected I have had the Garman R10 now for more than 3 weeks. It has not given the correct or even close readings for hit balls. The Garmin shows each hit between 20 and 30 yards short. We have changed the distance from the unit to the ball and the ball to the hitting screen amny times and distances without changes in distances. We checked our hits on the range with a range finder to make sure of what we hitting 90% of the time. Also the courses are pretty much one dimential. You could play any course over and over with the same viewing results as changing them up. To pay $10.00 per month for this service is unrealistick. I am dissipointed with Garmen for this unit. I have a Garmen Aproach S60 watch which is wonderful as is my Garmin for my Bike. I do have GPS's made by Garmin as well. They are wonderful, and that is why this really dissapoints me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Avg. club distance I wish the garmin had an easy way to show the avg distance for each club. As of now, it does not and it’s kind of annoying. You pay $500 for the data of your swing and it calculates the avg distance during your driving range sessions, but it won’t roll up the data and put it into an easy to read format. They have the “my bag” screen that is perfect for this and would be wonderfully easy to see avg. distance, but as of now, you have to go back into each driving range session and see how you hit your club that specific day. Recommendation: Just total up all of the sessions and put it as the avg under the “my bag” screen!!!! Simple. I know this is due to them wanting you to buy the garmin watch and club sensors, but come on!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fun and elevates your skill level This thing has changed my game in a short period of time. There’s something about setting up in your backyard and hitting balls and figuring out your ideal swing without distractions….the home tee hero is super fun and allows you to play your favorite local courses virtually - I play my local courses in just 30 minutes therefore I can play a few courses per day. Before having this I never practiced, just played once a week. Now I’m hitting 100 balls a day and really starting to dial in on comfortable swing that feels great. This thing makes it fun to practice and for that alone it’s well worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is small and easy to set up. Only had the r10a couple of weeks. Had difficulty connecting to the e6 demo. Now resolved. I have used the driving ranch set in my garage and outside of my garage. Also took it to the range. The range had the better results. My garage had poor performance. The distance measured was reduced from 20 to 50 yards from the driving range. I have checked and rechecked set up. Removed items I thought could interfere to no avail. Moved outside and the results were the same. I contacted support. They wanted pictures of location and set up. Also shot data. I have data from range and home both garage and outside. My problem is getting it so it can be reviewed. I am using IPad. Another thing I found was moving around the games and exiting a game before finishing. Instructions a little flakey. Help.

Not a knock to Garmin but I wish someone would work on making it so you can get somewhat accurate numbers with Almost Golf Balls. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great except for driver I setup everything in my garage to Garmin specifications and everything works as expected except my driver. My driver only registers up to 225 yards but my 3-wood averages 240 yards on the r10. Typically my driver is 270 average on the course but it is not picking it up. Not sure why this is the case other than the ball is traveling too fast for the r10 to register.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent Unit For The Price The unit is great for practice and working on your swing at the range. In this price range I can't complain. The only issue is that it does not accurately pickup Driver, Woods and long irons. The distance is roughly 10% off when shooting with a laser. My indoor golf Sim setup is probably closer to 20% off. Still a lot of fun though and great for spin and club face analysis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Golf Investment! I have now had three range sessions with my R10 Approach. It has been a great addition to my bag! It is so helpful to hit a shot and get instantaneous feedback on how you are putting the club on the ball! I am already hitting my irons more flush and look forward to seeing how the range sessions translate to my play on the course. Can you spend more for a piece of equipment that might be marginally more accurate? Yes - but why? The amount of data generated by the R10 is remarkable and when it does miss a shot (very infrequent for me), I just tee up another ball. I wish I had bought this sooner!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected! It works great! Only problem I am experiencing is with the driver, seems like either my waggle of the club or how I approach the ball, but it misses 50% of the time. Wedges and Irons however are great! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well indoors (Outdoors is TBD) It's January in WI, using this outdoors won't happen for a while. I set up a net and mat in my garage for some practice. The net has a black tarp behind it so the R10 (I'm guessing) will see the ball more easily. I seem to miss around 1% of the shots I take, could even be my fault. The issues I am seeing and trying to correct are rather consistent with things I experience during game play. I also take this to my buddies house and use it in his simulator. The numbers don't always match up between his photo launch monitor and this radar based one. The two units will usually agree on data, just the specifics might be off: 16L vs 9L, or 3450 spin vs 4275, etc. There are more time of the numbers being so close that I accept the differences. Looking forward to taking it to the range once the snow melts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does not work inside I bought this to use in my basement in the off-season. It works fine at the range but I cannot get it to work at all in my basement despite consulting with Garmin customer service. The readings it gives are ridiculously off. Attached is a screenshot of the data it gave for a well struck sand wedge shot. I know my swing speed was not 159 mph! And if it was, I'm sure it would have gone farther than 38 yards carry. 5 stars for range but 0 stars for indoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is it me or the R10 Hello fellow golfers! The Garmin R10's features that work correctly and are great are the stats it provides; club head speed, ball speed, club face angle at impact, carry, total distance, and on and on. Another great feature is the auto swing video, when you set up your capable phone or iPad. My problem is distance numbers are not correct. I believe it's just a set up issue but I don't know. I say for the money it does a lot but not all the data is correct.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Desyncs and Needs 'Wake Up" It rarely works. It takes me longer to set it up and get it to actually read my shots than it does to hit 50 balls. I hit in the small amounts of free time I can find and don't have the time to waste setting it up. I have to 'forget device' and reregister it every time I want to use it and even then sometimes it will not read. Sometimes I have to uninstall the app alltogether. So the thing just sits on the shelf. I've managed to get it to work MAYBE 2 times in the year since I bought it. They want you to purchase simulators and course packages...and I might have if the thing worked reliably. I just don't have the time to debug and troubleshoot this thing every time. Similarly, I have a Garmin watch that sits unused for similar reasons. I wanted to like Garmin - local campus and everything. There is an almost zero chance I ever purchase another one of their products and that actually makes me sad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great So Far Have used the R10 exclusively indoors so I haven't really had a chance to compare its performance with an outside driving range session. It does appear to be more accurate using the Awesome Golf App vs the Garmin Golf app. I get more consistent results with fewer times that the app didn't record any data. But again, I haven't used it on the range to judge accuracy.

I have used different distances between equipment n R10. Still experimenting... I have had more trouble with pairing and missed shots, which always seem to be the best ones. Once I get my impact screen setup, I hope for better results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still working on it Doesn’t do well with short irons, maybe 1 out of 3 shots gives feedback. Inside vs outside, doesn’t matter. Bought the 12 month golf package but have tried to use other compatibility apps. Same thing. I’ve calibrated and tried different “tricks”, nothing has helped. If I had to do it over again I would save the money and buy the Bushnell. It’s a shame too because I felt like my next purchase would be a fenix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good features but lacking in one area The unit works well. The wealth of information is impressive. Now, if I can put it all together that will help me with my swing mechanics. Two things need improvement. First, the instruction manual is grossly inadequate. I went online and got the "more" detailed manual but it still leaves a lot to be desired. This is a complex device, it needs better documentation. Secondly, alignment of the R10 is somewhat problematic. I try and follow the directions but even then it is not clear to me whether the data I am seeing is correct or if their is an alignment issue. It would be nice to have a laser pointer type light coming out of the front of the device which would be pointed at the ball so you knew when the Rq0 was correctly aligned.

I use it as my home simulator as well as a launch monitor when I’m at the range. My swing and ball statistics are always withing a % point or two of the foresight, track an and other monitors used at fitting for 10-20x the cost!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy So far so good. I have used it multiple times since my purchase a month ago. Works great and the numbers seem to be very accurate. I have only used it outdoors at the range. The visual ball flight and distance matches what the numbers being displayed on my iPhone. I hit to flags at set distances that I have used my Bushnell V5 range finder to ensure are correct. I am getting the same Flight distance not sure about carry but I am sure it’s accurate. I love it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazed! I have owned mine for a bit less than a month and I am amazed by what I am getting in terms of data and performance at this price point. It will get stuck on some misreads occasionally, and I need to restart the unit but overall I am very happy with the garage set up I now have. Getting club path and face angle is critical and to get that for less than $600 is fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product I bought this a month ago and it’s been great! We’ve played numerous rounds on it. My cons about it is that it has a little issues in the garage switching from left handed golfer to right handed golfer. My only other con is that it’s about 10-15 yards off. But I, as a competitive golfer, bought this to take legitimate reps throughout the winter when I can’t be on the course. I wasn’t looking for something crazy accurate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin R10 I bought this a month ago to use as a simulator in my garage over the winter. So far it has been great! It’s picked up every single shot taken and I believe it’s accurate. I’m about a 17 handicap and feel like it accurately tracks my good/bad shots to what they would be on the course. I like that you can play almost any course via Home Tee Hero even though it’s a video game type feel and not ultra realistic view, but E6 provides a more realistic virtual golf simulation. I feel other simulator putting isn't very realistic so I’m not yet missing that feature in the R10.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solutions Architect I recently purchased the Garmin R10 golf GPS device, and I couldn't be happier with my decision. As an avid golfer, I've used various GPS devices and smartphone apps to improve my game, but the R10 has truly exceeded my expectations. The Garmin Golf app that pairs with the R10 is a game-changer. It allows me to track my shots, measure my stats, and analyze my performance over time. I can also compete with friends, join leaderboards, and participate in challenges, making my golf experience more interactive and enjoyable. The battery life of the R10 is impressive. I can easily get through multiple rounds of golf on a single charge, eliminating any worries about it running out of power during my game. The device is also lightweight and comfortable to wear on my belt or clip onto my golf bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For the Price its pretty nice.Just one problem I have been using it every day for last two weeks. It will not pick up your shot. It will freeze up some times too and I will have to restart the unit. These 2 things are very annoying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not so good and terrible customer support from Gar Bought the R10 based on YouTube reviews. I knew my carry distances for my clubs, playing weekly and having been fit by a professional using Trackman technology. With the R10 I kept receiving odd data in distance and club speed. I tested it side by side in a Trackman studio and confirmed the R10 was significantly off across the entire bag. Called Garmin help center because I thought possibly the software was not current or perhaps my setup of the device was wrong. Garmin offered ZERO help. Told me I must be getting atmospheric interference from metal, concrete or the surrounding buildings. No offer to replace, repair or exchange. Luckily the retailer provided a full refund. I was dumbstruck how little Garmin help center even cared about my issue. Needless to say, I'll never consider purchasing anything made by Garmin again.

Furthermore I will be able to post a final review, for now I can’t really give much credit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome launch monitor I love so many things about this launch monitor. Portable, easy to use, love all the stats and being able to video capture each swing. So easy. The only negative I can say is I wished you could view on a PC vs only your phone. I gave the CT sensors and like to use Desktop to interact with Garmin Golf. Since I have the CT sensors on all my clubs I wish this device would recognize the sensors, really no big deal to manually change each club. Using this at the driving range is why I bought it. It's so nice having all that info easily displayed. This will soon be my house

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Consistency issues After much reviewing and comparing, I bought this launch monitor to use during the upcoming Winter/Tourist season in South Florida. When the tourists invade our local courses it becomes harder to play during the week and impossible on weekends. My thought was this is a good time to start practicing at home. While the launch monitor is impressive at its price point with its features it’s extremely inconsistent outside hitting into my Spornia net. It only picks up one out of every three drives on average and sometimes even less than that. I’ve tried everything including adjusting the height/distance of the R10, changing backgrounds, using different balls and even putting metal stickers on them with no luck with consistency. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to continue to play with this over the next few months due to the unreliability in recording my shots. I was also planning on having friends over and playing different courses throughout the world through the E6 app but that also has been an issue. I’ve only used it twice but it was consistently inconsistent in registering my shots both times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Garmin r10 I bought this 3 weeks ago and I’m loving it. I always wanted a launch monitor but it was out of budget for me. Thanks to Garmin for the R10. Anyone can afford to have one. I use mine outside with a net. I place it 8 feet between ball and impact screen and 6 feet between ball and device. It works perfectly each time. Make sure to recalibrate each time you use it. I can now play any golf course in the world anytime I want to at home. No more expensive bucket of balls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent entry-level launch monitor I purchased this for hitting in my garage over the winter and have yet to be wowed by the product. I have setup the monitor and hitting net per the specs recommended and many times the distance is way off from my actual stock yardages (unless I turn up the elevation manually in the app settings) and the shot shape is off as I typically slice driver (which is main reason why I purchased). I even use the RCT ball to better calculate spin. Very frustrating when you hit several shots that do not register on the monitor. I am still on the fence of selling and upgrading to a more expensive monitor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good launch monitor with mostly accurate data Very good launch monitor for the price. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good Information I bought the Garmin R10 about a month ago. I set mine up for outdoors hitting into a net. Initially I thought the yardage was short. As I kept using it, the statistics captured allowed me to better understand how to tweak my swing to minimize pulls and pushes. Then my yardage went significantly higher, which seemed to translate onto the course. As other users have commented, there are times that the R10 goes to sleep even before I start my sessions. Although frustrating, the R10 eventually wakes up and I have always been able to record my driving range practice sessions. I believe the R10 has really improved my game and am glad that I purchased it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value simulator on the market that I've seen It's not exact every shot, but its darn close and at this price for this technology, its a steal. You can pay a lot more to get small incremental gains in accuracy and consistency. My larger problem is that my room is slightly small giving me inaccurate distances from what I know I hit my clubs outside. The good news is you can just adjust the altitude on conditions and pretty much true that up. I love this thing. I can easily play 36 holes in my house in just over an hour. The settings allow you to adjust so you don't waste a lot of time putting or with short chip shots and just move onto working on your full swing and pitch shots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of my favorite Garmins I've only had the r10 for a month, but it's one of my favorites. I have Garmin:watches, dog training, dog tracking(saved my butt more than once) and sonar(several). This is definitely one of the coolest. The only thing is - it's not as accurate as others out there. I'm sure more updates are coming, but maybe you can use one of your other technologies. How about combing the r10 with your camera stuff to create an upgradeable system that would incorporate optical with your radar techs? It would be just as accurate and probably cheaper than what's out there now,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from R10 is ok Garmin launch monitor in Garmin app is unacceptably incorrect. Doesn't measure actual distance outside or inside even with RCT balls. Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far...so good Purchased a few weeks ago. Had it to the range twice (weather hasn't been cooperative). R10 distances are pretty spot on. I shot the various flags with my range finder and the R10 is very close most of the time. Shot shape is good but falls short in comparison to unit 30x more expensive...but that's the point. This $600 unit gives really good shot data at a fraction of the cost. The value very much exceeds the price paid. I would recommend purchasing a Garmin R10 leveling stand (eBay). Those stands assist in ensuring proper distance and direction for unit placement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Its a gem for the price! If you want a backyard or garage sim setup this is the way to go! I use it into a net and run it through an IPAD that is hooked to a TV. It certainly satisfies my golf addiction as a father of 3 young kids that cant get out enough. I use awesome golf for the driving ranges and swing stats and E6 for the simulator. Both lack accuracy in distance on the driver and 3 metal but its pretty dialed in from there down. Both of these apps require a membership, awesome golf is 350 lifetime and E6 is 300 for a year +/- but E6 has a demo version included. Be prepared to consider a drive of 250 an absolute bomb! I also would recommend you have 7 feet to the device and at least 8 ft to the net. I use RCT ProV1x balls but cant tell a difference really. It is a great product that use almost daily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it Received for Christmas, and have been really pleased across the board. Had some concerns about indoor usage but am pleased to report that I have had no such issues. While I dont think it is as accurate as the $3k up versions, I found it very close to the launch monitiors at Golftec. The information is robust, the integrations work great, and the ease of use is as good as it gets. Highly reccomend if you are looking for something to give feedback indoor and out without breaking the bank

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Connection issues and inconsistent readings I ended up returning mine out of frustration. I was having connection issues and it was hit or miss (no pun intended) on whether it would read my shot. Especially on chips. It made playing courses vs my kids extremely frustrating and my kids’ patience waned. Lastly, I was consistently hitting draws and hooks. I haven’t hit a draw or hook in my life. I’m a slicer! I confirmed it at the range the following day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value launch monitor on the market This launch monitor is the easiest to use that I’ve ever owned. I’ve also had Bushnell Launch Pro and SC Swing Caddie 3. The Garmin Golf phone app is simple and fast to use. It gives you rich virtual ball flight, Club and ball data, and video swing analysis. The data is accurate enough for most golfers. May not be enough for pro or pro am players. I can play 18 in about an hour. I’d strongly recommend this product to anyone in the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blown away by this little unit!! I’m continuing to be surprised how awesome this R10 is. I honestly can’t believe it’s been out for a couple years and I missed it. I just recently got into shopping for a launch monitor and first tried a smaller basic unit from another vendor with less than impressive results. Inaccurate reads or complete misreads. A month later I thought I’d give the Garmin a try and was completely blown away by the results. I purchased the recommended Titleist RCT golf balls for added accuracy and realism. The R10 is now reading much more accurate spin and side spin rates. The RCT balls introduced my ‘normal’ fade on most every shot which tells me the R10 unit is reading quite accurately. I have the R10 paired with E6 Connect and it is quite close to my real course results and quite fun to play. I’ve since put a large driving cage with impact screen in the garage and have a nice simulator set up. The only downside of this is trying to keep everyone else from playing the darn thing. I’m about ready to begin issuing tee times to family and neighbors. If you want a quality launch monitor and a good sim experience, you can’t go wrong with the Garmin R10

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little tool, with some minor cavats I wanted to wait several weeks before giving my thoughts, in order to fully give this device a solid evaluation. I came to this monitor from a Flightscope Mevo (not the Mevo+), as I didn't want to spend the $2000+ for the Mevo+, and I went all in on the Garmin Ecosystem, buying the R10, S62 watch and the CT10 sensors. Living in the Northeast, I've not yet had the opportunity to use this outside, so my thoughts are based on my experiences with indoor use. We have a golf simulator in my apartment building with foresight technology, which is highly accurate. I've been using this monitor largely with Titleist Pro V1 RCT balls for the best results. My experience thus far has been mixed; the numbers for all of my clubs (even after calibration) are consistently off by anywhere from 10-15 yards. The spin numbers with the RCT balls are pretty accurate, usually within 200rpm of the GCQuad, which is impressive. It's possible that once I'm able to practice outdoors, the numbers will be more accurate, so I'm adopting a wait-and-see approach for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best value for the money Got this a few days ago & finally got the chance to use it. Initial setup was very easy & I had no problem getting it to sync with the app on my phone. Once I started using it I kept getting a message saying there was interference with the unit, and finally figured out that it was the fluorescent light that was directly overhead in my garage. Once I turned that off, the message stopped popping up. Alos found it was having difficulty picking up just a regular golf ball. I found myself having to hit several shots to get one to register. Sounds like the use of the RCT balls by Titleist will fix this, so I ordered a box and hopefully that fixes the problem. Overall, very happy with the unit, and when things worked right it seemed to be very accurate with how my clubs should be performing. Had a lot of fun shooting a simulated round of golf at my local course from my heated garage. Looking forward to getting a lot of use during the winter months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decent but bit awesome. Had high hopes but somewhat disappointed. Distances are pretty short compared to real life. I have been experimenting and have improved them some but they are still short. I feel this could be corrected with a software update. Ball flight seems to be pretty realistic though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goods value I have been using the garmin R10 for 3 weeks and so far I am pleased with its performance. I have only had one occasion that it did not pick up my golf shot, could have been my fault. Accuracy is good most of the time. The cost/performance compared to others cost/performance, this is a gray but.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First time user Finally purchased and tried out the Garmin R10 after reading several youTube videos on golf simulator devices. The Garmin was well-recommended based on flight results and price point. By no means a scratch player so precise accuracy was not an issue. The access the Home Tee Hero program and the fancier E6 Connect capabilities was the main reasons. Easy to set up and still experimenting with HTH options. Haven't figured out how to record your swing during a driving range session, but I have time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!! Do not waste your money. Maybe it works great outdoors but like most people, I bought this to use in my home. I was very excited to use the driving range features and the simulated courses. Unfortunately, this experience has been a nightmare. First, they don't tell you that you can't use wiffle or foam balls. So I bought the Titleiest RCT special balls and indoor net. Now it picks up the shots but everything is about 50% the correct distance. They said to move the net back and I did to the safest possible distance and used a 5 iron to make sure I didn't go over the net; distance was still 50% off (on the pure shots, it said my average carry with the 5 iron was 110; while it should be around 160. My 8 iron was only carrying 90 yards according to the device. Additionally, the app is not using to use. When trying to check you driving range session stats, the interface is either poorly designed or buggy. You can't click on a shot and then see the stats for some reason. Please buy something else and don't end up like me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just okay i bought this about a month ago and when i first got it everything was ok and the second time i used it everything was going exactly how far i hit the ball and the other times i’ve used it everything is coming up about 15-20 yards shorter than normal. if it worked how it did the second time i used it i would give it a 5/5 stars but i would like to see it a bit more accurate. if it was around 5 yards off like it advertised then it would be okay but 15-20 yards is a lot and can mess up your game on course a lot because you think your hitting it a lot shorter than you actually are.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value, underwhelming feedback Bought a couple weeks ago. Have played 20-30 full rounds. So far it’s fine my only real complaint is actually the Garmin app. The home tee hero gives underwhelming statistics on rounds. I would love to know where my shots went and what I used to get there. But all you get is a scorecard and a few basic statistics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this device I reviewed many launch monitors at varying price points and decided to give this one a try. It's reasonable price helped, but it sure looked like all of the data points I was looking for at this point in my game were included in this device. I questioned some of the data at first, but verified the accuracy on a professional system so I am confident that most of the data that comes from this device is accurate and helpful. I am using the data to improve my swing and the apps that come with the device are incredibly helpful and provide a variety of options to analyze and improve your game. I may move to a different device in the future, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. This has everything I need right now at a reasonably affordable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really is worth it! I’ve owned all the others. I purchased this a couple years ago for my golf room with iPad to projector set up. Worked great. Had no issues at all and then when rapsodo came out with their mlm 2 pro … I got all excited golf could better! Then returned it within a week. Too many issues. Back to using r10. Nothing wrong with it but figured if it can get better, why not? Then when skytrak came out with their new plus version…bought that. And returned it within a week. Waaaay too many issues. The r10 just works. Consistently. Awesome golf is a nice range set up and kids use it for practicing. E6 also is pretty awesome for full simulation. Don’t waste your time trying to find the perfect one. The r10 Is as good as it gets if you want a simple set up and reliability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall quite happy! Bought ir a month ago and i am quite impressed overall with the unit! Rated 5 out of 5 by from It’s fine It is a good low level monitor. There are certainly shots that misfire and read incorrectly. There are also many shots around the green in chip shots that don’t get read at all. Room to be improved but good for the value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Launch Monitor I love my launch monitor. I built an outdoor range with a 10 x 7 net. With the R10, I’m able to practice all my shots. I synced the R10 with my iPad and have it mounted at eye level across from me. It makes it easy to see all my shots. I also subscribed to Home Tee Hero. There’s still a few kinks in the course software for Home Tee Hero but it’s a fun way to add to my practice routine. I would definitely recommend getting a stand for the R10 and an alignment stick to help align the R10 with each use. I’ve also taken it to the range to compare the results from the R10 with my ball flight in the range. The flight trajectory and distance are pretty accurate compared to my actual shots. I’m very happy with my purchase. I also have the CT-10 sensors on all my clubs. It would be great if the sensors would work while I’m using the R10 so that it automatically detects which club I’m hitting with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! Bought a couple of weeks ago and been using it extensively in a makeshift sim in my garage, so still haven't used all the features and functions. Until the weather breaks and I can get out on a range and verify the numbers I'll assume it's accurate. Nevertheless, I find it easy to set up, connect and use. I use the Garmin app with it, and while the analytics are terrific and already helping to identify swing flaws, I wish it would allow for more than three to display while in range mode as I need to select the shot, hit the analytics tab and see the whole thing there, then go back. But, that's only a minor gripe and not really a big deal. Overall, very pleased to find an affordable unit that is already paying dividends for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Can't be beaten for the price! I went back and forth on buying this or not but I am thrilled with my choice. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for hitting into net outdoors I bought this to use in my backyard hitting into a net. Unfortunately it's accuracy hitting into a net is off by at least 30 yards. I found others online that had the same problem and Garmin wasn't addressing the issue. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely a terrible product Can't use it in the basement, it disconnects every time the furnace or A/C kicks on. Disconnects on the Range and takes forever to reconnect. Misses half of my shots. I would never buy this again or recommend it to anyone

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not for inside use I purchased this for winter use in my garage. I have 6' to 8' from monitor to ball and 10' to 12' from ball to target and net. I installed a black tarp as a background.. and covered the concrete floor with carpet remnants. I installed two 6000 lumen ceiling lights for illumination. The monitor would only record 150 yd max drives... I normally drive 200 yd average . Very disappointing.. really wanted this to work. Returned to store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun product to play with. Overall I’m fairly satisfied with my purchase. It allows me to play a round of golf I’m my backyard any time. That’s pretty cool. The major problem is the distance calculation. It’s about 30-40% short on all of my shots. So it is frustrating to play some of the games when I can only hit my driver 100 yards, on longer corses a nice drive will get me to the last tee box lol. I’m not a strong golfer I can usually only hit it 175 on a great day. That’s really my only complaint. All of the other readings and trajectory seem accurate. It is easy and quick to connect to my phone. I did find if I change the elevation a few thousand feet it will show the correct distances of my shots so I’ve been playing with that at the range to figure out what is accurate. Somewhere around 2000-3000 feet elevation more than my location. This still doesn’t help me if I wanted to play online because that is preset so I am at quite a disadvantage unless everyone is having the same issues. Other have said 10-15 yards but sometimes it’s even 50% short. I have 8’ of travel for the ball and 7’ behind the ball to put the r10. If the distance was accurate I’d give it a 5 star but it’s way off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Launch Monitor It is incredibly easy to setup and use. I used to have a FlightScope Mevo+ but sold it because I rarely used it because the setup was such a pain because it creates it's own WiFi network which you must then connect your phone to. Then to mirror that on my tv screen I had to have a cord because you couldn't use AirPlay because the tv was on the home network and my phone was on the Mevo network. A very poor design. My one complaint is I have to aim my R10 about 10 degrees to the right, otherwise all shots go 20 yards right on the app. I've done the calibration multiple times and have the latest software updates but those haven't helped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tool for improving your game I have used the R10 for a few weeks religiously and it allows me to look at the data and focus on correcting one swing error at a time. I am a beginner and really have be focused on swing path and am starting to dial that in. I also have made improvements in club face and attack angle and these metrics have led to great improvement in my irons. It really has helped the practice time between lessons every one to two weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Inaccurate! The distances with every club are way off. With a driver my distances are 30 plus short. With a 7 iron they are 20 yards short. I cannot get the video feature to work. Chat with customer service was a waste of 20 minutes that I will get back. I think the reading comprehension skills of the agent were poor. He was reading things that was not even typing, like so you are using in indoors, when I typed I using it on the range and on the course. I wish I had not spent $599 on this device. Zero stars would be better!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Game improver I've had mine a couple of years and it still works great. My game has improved so much since purchasing the R10. I have it set up in my garage so I can practice or play year round. I love the selection of courses it offers. All of my local courses are available. It is actually quite accurate. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Oh Well….. Really hard if, not impossible, to dial this thing in if you have an outdoor hitting cage. Yardages are way off. And not the way that makes you feel good about your game. For instance, I’m pretty sure I hit my 7 Iron more than 65 yards on the golf course. Buts that’s all the R10 gives me in my back yard cage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for the price. 4/5 accuracy: I've put it up against a $13k monitor. The Garmin always reads about 8-13% slower, but I'll hit the price that's fine. 3/5 set-up: It looses Bluetooth connection every time I back out Home Tee Hero or the driving range/other islan holes. 2/5 Home Tee Hero: It seams they have put their entire budget into course quantity but app development got the scraps. It's usable but not great. I still give it 5 stars because of its value. The app is still usable & the Bluetooth connectivity is tolerable gor the price. A v2 would be great if it had better Bluetooth, a built in laser for alignment, adjustable legs/feet & a digital level that showed up on the app.
