Remarkable, as advertised.
Incredible storage capacity for its size. Unfortunately requires USB-C connection, which likely accounts for the slow file transfer speed.

Fast, convenient and vast storage
I have used this ssd to carry all my photos with me. Plenty of space and fast access. However at some point the device was no longer detected on any of my computers and I lost everything (good thing I had a backup). Tech support made a convenient replacement (except I had to pay to ship the unit back).

Was slow for SSD then died
I use this 4 tb drive for backing up photos on my PC. It is much slower than other SSDs I have that were much expensive. This one died after 60 days of very occasional use, the warrantee is 45 days. Apparently the manufacturer knew something I didn't.

I use it as my timemachine backup drive. I can't believe how small it is. Long gone are the days of massive drives.

Still haven't recieved product.

Storage Execute does not recognize this drive
4 drives in this system, 2 made by Crucial. Storage Executive doesn't recognize the X6 at all, and shows "firmware error" on the MX500. Support is useless. Can't update firmware or wipe. Pathetic

Buyer beware
The first device died after less than 4 months. Under warranty, I received a replacement, which just died with the same symptoms after about a year and a half. (At least an improvement over the original one.)
Symptoms start gradually: device will drop off USB at random times while being written to (during TimeMachine backup); those periods then get shorter, and eventually (after a few more days of use) the device won't show up as a USB device at all any more when plugged in.
Waiting for my second replacement. Though, no longer very confident in the quality of this product.

These bad boys are awesome
These are the sixth and seventh units of this product I have purchased. I am in the process of transferring all of the data on my aging HDD backups to these puppies. This includes the whole family's CD's, audiobooks & other audio that's been sitting on my 2006 NAS. (!)
I also purchased one for each family member to back up their laptops.
Easy-peasy to reformat (on my Mac, I used Disk Utility) and start using. Of course they work seamlessly with Time Machine.
No real idea what the lifespans of these units are, but I would assume they would far surpass that of any HDD.

Lightning fast, small device that works w/ MAC, IOS, and PC
Received SSD while on deployment to help store movies, music, and other files. This little hard drive makes working across platforms a breeze. It plugs right into my iPad to watch movies. Must Have!
