Took several calls to get it to connect wirelessly to my Mac so I could print. Still trying to get the scan function to work. Have had an older Canon printer/scanner that worked fine until it started displaying error code for wiper almost full; turns out you no longer support it so I bought this one; last time for Canon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great allo in one printer for the price. Good prints and the menu for printing is much moar expanded than the TS9020 I had before. I doubt I will use the Fax functionality but the scanning works equally as well as the printing. The ability to print in draft saves ink on documents that you will only use once. Hopefully that means less frequent ink changes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Home Printer This printer satisfies all of our home requirements. The document feeder is useful for multiple Pdf files and presentations. The printer works with both of our computers as well with our phones and has performed without an incident or any issues. All in all, it has been a great value and a sound machine that is easy to use. We have used the machine for about a month here in Arizona and would recommend it to others. This printer replaces the TS9120 that we had and we have used Canon printers for more than 15+ years. For average users like us this printer is an efficient and welcomed unit. In addition, the support group is awesome and have helped us with any question we may have had.

It also allows wireless pairing which is an excellent way to connect to my computers in my home to avoid all the cable lines. If you are tech savvy and understand internet connections then you will probably prefer this option as well. The color quality was perfect from the print quality as well. I would recommend this printer to others.

It is quiet and very quick while printing. I love that the touch screen is very big and easy to see/press the buttons when needed. The print quality is amazing. We have been using it every day for other a month and still have barely made a dent in the ink.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Flimsy Toy I had 2 Canon Mx 922 the last of which only lasted 12 months. SAlthough slow, It was sturdy and well built with an excellent fax auto feeder. Canon replaced it with this TR 8620 under Warranty. The TR 8620 is a bulit like a flimsy toy. The Plastic bends in your hand and the contol panel will not stay in place when you enter numbers on the keypad causing constant errors in entry. The auto feeder is tiny and the fax is extremely slow. I would run away and not purchase this unit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWESOME printer! I've been using this printer daily since I got it. It was super easy to set up! I didn't need any cords other than the power cord. I have synced it to my android phone as well as my laptop and airprint and bluetooth print works spectacularly. It prints clearly and and crisply and I've never had a printer print as fast as this. The fax works great as well and the copying is really nice because it does 2 sides. I love scanning documents as well for record keeping and I also print pictures on card stock and photo paper and have been very happy to do this. Canon is a great brand and this is a great printer. It retains all settings as well if you have to unplug and move it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and performance This has been a great printer! It has many options, and all have worked just as they should. It has front and rear paper feeding options. There's also several ways to connect. I prefer the wireless. I'm able to print quality documents, labels, pictures, and more. It comes with ink and sample picture paper. I was set-up and printing within 10 minutes. It did take me just a second to figure out how it works as it's different from my last. Like any product change though, there will be some differences. The front flap has to be up during the printing process. It is a quick and easy proccess.

The printer has many great qualities that I cannot find any problems with it. Setup was a breeze using the app on a smartphone. The device can scan, copy, print, and fax. The printing is fast and double side printing available.

Would not accept touch commands. All "fix-it" online remedies were attempted to no avail. Canon website instructions followed - still touchpad refused commands. Returned unit to retailer; rep stated this is a common manufacturing defect for this particular model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unit is now in the trash I bought mine from Staples. I do not have a wireless internet connection so my choices were limited. Hook up was straight forward and it seemed to work acceptably for about a month. Then, the scanner would not scan. A call to the Canon help line revealed that my computer must have updated which negated the auto scan features. The only way I could scan was click Canon Utilities (part of the software download) and manually tell the machine to scan. Then the black ink started to malfunction and would not even print a simple black and white document. A change of ink cartridge did not solve the problem. Then a similar problem occurred with the other colors. I've had the unit less than 6 months and it won't print and won't scan. I will never buy a Canon unit again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from PIXMA TR8620a Deficiencies The PIXMA TR8620a is a good printer, but there are a couple of deficiencies that disappoint ... - The front control panel must be open/raised in order to print. - The printer is set to wake up if I print a document, but if in the meantime it has taken a nap, the Canon Inkjet Smart Connect utility can not obtain info from the device. I must wake the printer first. - When using the Canon Inkjet Smart Connect utility to scan something, each time I click "Scan" then I must select whether I'm scanning a document or photo. The utility I previously used for my Pixma MX922 had separate buttons to click for scanning document or photo, so a single click was sufficient. OK, only one deficiency identified for the printer, but two for the utility. So far the printer seems to work well.

Speed is up there, but you would expect it from a printer at this price point. All in all, this printer does exactly what you need it to do. Haven't had too many issues with jamming. Only concern is when i have to replace the ink cartridge... will cost me fortune.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does everything! I love this Canon TR 8620a printer/scanner/copier/fax, it does it all, and makes it easy. Setup was surprisingly easy, I set it up on my phone and computer, and it was about the easiest setup I’ve ever done. You can use a QR code for instructions on your phone, but the printers display had them too… and they were clear and comprehensive, a lot of companies could learn from Canon on this! I set the printer up as wireless, again it was very easy and required no thinking it just did it for both phone and computer. I love photography, and I’m really impressed by the quality of the photo prints, I wasn’t expecting much as I thought this is just a office printer, but I was wrong, all the images I’ve done with this are amazing, beautiful colors deep blacks, I’m very happy. My wife is very happy because she finally can print her phone photos really easily with the app. Scanning and copying are done with the touch screen interface, very easy, the scans get sent over to the computer and ‘pop up’ in the documents file window. There are loads of settings that you can use to tailor the job to what you need, but ultimately you don’t need to bother if you don’t want, so it’s a perfect balance of wry good user interface, ease of use, and ability. Scan and copy quality are very good in color and black and white. It even has a function to copy photos onto photo paper… very handy for those old family photos. This isn’t a massive high volume printer for a big office, but if you are looking for something to do normal home-office and family volume scanning/copying/printing (a.k.a. Not 100’s of sheet per day), that is versatile and produces top quality results, and all in such a small size. It does everything I can image I need in my home office and again it’s user interface is so easy, I highly recommend this combo printer/scanner/copier by Canon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge upgrade from our 10 years old printer Our ten years old printer has been having a lot of issues lately so we decided to replace it with this Canon TR8620a all in one printer. Canon is a brand we really trust so we decided to stick with the brand and were not disappointed. We wanted a new printer that would be compact but has a copier, scanner and wireless printing option and this Canon had it all. Setting it up took me about 20 minutes but once everything was configured and set up, I was able to easily print from my phone using the wireless network. The big LCD display touchscreen is also very convenient. When it comes to quality, everything I printed came out very sharp, even the pictures. I love the fact that if I need to copy a document, I can quickly make a copy at the press of a button. The difference is really night and day compared to our old printer. Replacement inks are not cheap but I will stick with the OEM cartridges as I feel like the generic ones usually do not last as long and the quality of the ink is not as good as the Canon ink. All in all, I am very pleased with our new all in one Canon printer which gets a 5 stars rating from me.

The menu is easy to unstand and see where you need to go to do different functions like copy, scan, fax. The pages with color come out beautiful and neat. The scan works great even on to your phone. Amazing

I've only ever owned a basic wireless printer before and I thought this might be complicated to use but this printer was easy to set up and use. There is a QR code right on the box that I could scan and it made set up a breeze. It did not include a USB cord but I had one laying around. I was actually impressed with the size of the printer. It did not take up any more room than my previous printer. I really liked the big and easy to read touchscreen and the fact that the paper could be loaded from both the front and back is very convenient as well. I leave one with photo paper and the other with regular and I no longer have to switch out the paper depending on what I am printing. Everything functioned as expected and I am very pleased.

You can download the Canon printer app to your Iphone or android and Wifi. You can print stuff from your phone or tablet from anywhere.. It also had copier,scanner,and fax built in. Easy access SD card slot on the front to print pictures off your SD card. The paper cassette had adjustable guides for all of your different size and types of paper,including Canon photo paper plus glossy II 4"x6" photo paper. I like how it can fit all your faxing,scanning,coping,and printing all in one little machine makes it great and easy to find spot for in the home.. Im very happy with it..

The speed is incredibly faster than our old one, the color quality is amazing and most of all, this was super quick and easy for me to learn and maneuver. Rated 5 out of 5 by from All you'll ever need Multi function printers have been a thing for a long time now but it's rare to find one that really makes utilizing each function easy. So far, my experience with the Canon Pixma TR8620a has been just that: easy. If you work from home, have a home office, or just need a good functioning all-in-one printer it's right here. Print, scan, copy, fax - and you can do it all wirelessly. I found set up a little difficult at first but I do believe that was all user error. Once I realized what I was doing, it was a breeze. The instructions are clear enough anyone should be able to set up and have their Pixma TR8620a running in no time. I don't work from home or have a business or home office or anything like that but I do have a lot of little kids in my house. They always need something printed or scanned or copied for school and I can do that for them with ease, usually right from my phone! Wireless capabilities make using the Pixma TR8620a that much more simple. We have not yet had an opportunity to use the fax function but I do find that having that capability brings this printer a step above your usual all-in-ones. It's also compact, doesn't take up a ridiculous amount of space, and can be put pretty much anywhere. Plus, it's Canon. I've always trusted the Canon brand to bring me quality products and the same is true here.

I read some reviews on this printer before I set mine up and was expecting to run into some trouble in the setup process but I gotta say, this has to be the easiest printer setup I have ever had to do in my life. A lot of times, printers are so hard for me to set up so I was dreading doing this one and I’m so happy that it was SO EASY! I set it up to my iPhone by downloading the app and it walked me through step by step on the display screen and then in the app. When I went to print a photo on some of the free photo paper that was included in the box, I wasn’t sure how to put 4x6 paper in so I referred to the app and it showed me how to use the rear paper loader then the display showed an animation on exactly how to do it. SO. EASY! The print quality was awesome on the photo, too.. maybe even better than when I send it to print at the store. I’m so happy to have my own printer downstairs in my office, been using my husbands which is upstairs and i was not a fan of having to run upstairs to get my papers constantly lol. I highly recommend this printer, I can’t wait to start printing more things!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not what we wanted This PIXMA TR8620a is NOT what we wanted. We do not need or want the ADF. We do not need or want the FAX capability. We told the sales rep that we loved our PIXMA MG7720, that it was the best printer we ever owned, we wanted the nearest thing to it, since it is no longer available. This is NOT it! The color definition will not approach that of the 7720. It frustrates and irritates us that Canon, like so many other companies, decided to change things that work very well. There are many bad reviews of nearly every machine made today. The engineers responsible for these kinds of decisions should be fired. Hopefully, I'll find out today, we can return the unopened, unused product for a full refund.

I'm in computer IT school and have never had this many problems with any printer in my life. I hate this thing

Almost afraid to try the scanner. My first Canon printer was the BEST, my second okay and this one? I'll get rid of it just as soon as I can.....losing the cost would be worth it vs the aggravation it causes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My New Canon Printer-PIXMA TR8620a The actual printing looks good. The paper catcher is cheaply made. Not nearly as good as my 25 year old Canon this replaced. I have to print wirelessly. LAN won’t work because there are no compatible drivers on my iMac. I’d asked if this would work with my MacBook, just like the one I was replacing. This isn’t a buggy. The customer service people have been the best ever, however. I’m ok with this printer, because I only print once a week for my Sunday school lesson.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far So far the printer is working fine. I wasn’t aware it did not use the photo blue ink cartridge like my other canon did. I think the color printing is not quite as good, but it will be ok for basic needs. This one has fax which I didn’t really need. I went with this model as it used the same inks that I already had on hand from my other Canon printer which were individual cartridges . I didn’t want the combination cartridges that canon has on its newer models as I think the ink cartridges are not cost effective.

When it is off, one cannot start a print job without walking all the way to the printer and turning it on. The previous PIXMA I had would turn itself on. Saved me a lot of trips upstairs.

This TR8620a model was recommended by the Canon rep as the perfect replacement for my PIXMA 720 that died after ten years of operation for our home office, homeschool and personal use. The TR8620a's networking features perform better and the menus are more user-friendly. The physical setup was quick and easy connecting the our home's LAN. The power-off/on features are an improvement that will definitely extend product life. The TR8620a is the perfect AIO inkjet printer for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The PIXMA TR8620a So Far, the PIXMA TR8620a is working vowel well. I only have it connected to my computer by a usb cable. It works well scanning and double sided printing. Photo printing is very good. We'll see how long they last in regular sun light. So far, so good. My only real problem has been trying to connect to Canon's computer. I finally has to place a phone call to get my unit registered.

I sometimes print from other rooms so I have to assure the panel is up. That's uncool. Price was good. Only have printed about 50 pages so far. Print quality excellent, no paper jams yet.

After reading the reviews I was very worried, but.... - The quality of the printer is very cheap - For a month the printer worked perfectly. Very easy to use and to set up. After 90 days it just stopped working they immediately sent me a new one because of the 1 year warranty. Good product for the price, I just hope it last longer. I had to call few times to fix issues.

Really happy with it so far, but haven't set up wifi yet. The print quality is so good, I printed out a photo of my dog, and he attacked it.

However, I recently bought a new laptop without realizing that the Canon 640 was not compatible with it. So I purchased a compatible Canon printer - Pixma TR8620a. It's design and operation is different from the 640, and frankly, I find the new printer to be less user friendly as well as comparatively flimsy and cheap in construction. It would be much too easy to snap off a tray. I would not buy the Pixma TR8620a again.

I bought theTR8620a printer about 6 months ago. It keeps getting off line, paper jams, The ink cartridges are always empty and ecpensive. jams, it keeps stopping bevausr the ink level is low

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Horrible scanner / scanner utility I've had this printer for a few months. Printing is just fine. But I hate scanning. I don't like using the teeny screen that's on the printer. Clicking on the printer's icon on my display brings up a window with all the options grayed out. Another time it wasn't but it asked more questions than are necessary compared to my last one, the TS6020, You can't name the scan. You can't tell it where it's to go. You can't put something on the plate, have its scan light go on and take its picture when you press scan. And right now I can't even find what it just scanned. (not in Pictures, not in Docs, not on desktop). Oh wait. The scanner just turned itself off and the scans popped up in Pictures. So, apparently you can't see or use what you scanned until the printer's turned off. It's nuts. Bottom line is Canon has added features I find useless and took away what I need. So. if these features are important to you, forget this printer/scanner. I wish I hadn't bought it. I've been a happy Canon user for years. I loved its easily accessible customer service. That's gone. (I learned that when my last printer declared it was in use when it wasn't.) And I liked its printers. But not this one. Bye bye Canon.

The LCD screen guides step by step throughout the set up process. Functionality and attributes: This all-in-one printer features everything in a office printer thanks to its sleek and modern design it is suitable for my home. It is a nice s size. The intuitive 4.3 inches LCD screen display size is perfect and touch sensitive. This canon printer had a feeder that can hold up to twenty pages making scanning document fast and easy. It also offers the option of double-sided printing making saving papers and have more storage spaces a bonus, it prints fast and the quality of the printings both text and graphics are amazing. When printing of making copies or scanning it gives you the option of choosing color of black and white. The paper feeder can hold about one hundred sheets of paper and there is an additional tray at the bottom front to hold about one hundred pages giving more opportunity to print in style. Sustainability: I love that there is an app to allows remote printing, scanning whether is documents or photos Experience: This printer PIXMA TR8620a suits my busy life whether on the go or at home. Great for small business, for home office, or working from home. I love the style and the size. I love the print. I print a lot I make greeting cards, flyers, labels. I use mainly for the print and copy features.... but it was nice not to leave home to send the 1 fax a month I needed too. It's compact but the height is pretty tall it wouldn't fit on my standard desk shelves so sits on a table for now. Ink seems to be lasting a good while too. Overall it's a good quality machine. Many buttons to learn and maneuver but once you learn how to use it, this machine is awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fast and easy to use The Canon PIXMA TR8620a printer and copier is really easy to set and use. It only has a power cord and works wirelessly with your internet. I then was able to set up my laptops and phones to the printer by going to a website and app to link them. The printer uses multiple cartridges and prints a quick, nice and clear page. There is also the option to make copies as well as other features. I have been very impressed with the printer.

It can print, copy, scan, fax and the most important thing for me is the wireless printing that I can do from my smart phone because I do probably 90% of my printing from my smart phone! This printer is very easy to setup and has a nice touch screen as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worst printer I've owned.....(I've owned 9 in the last 30+ years) Where to start: size is ok. Footprint/volume fits well in my home office set-up. Thats about it for the PROS. Cons: Ergonomics are awful. You have to flop the faceplate up almost to horizontal position in order to A. get the thing to print and B. to open the outfeed ramp. Time will tell but feels really cheap (ie the plastic is even thinner than previous models, which is really saying something. Everything flexes when you touch it. I feel like whatever I touch (the platen cover, the faceplate, the outfeed ramp, rear feed lid) all feel like you have to treat them w kid-gloves or they will break. Performance is beyond pathetic! Simple one page printout takes 30"+. 8x10 photo - 3 MINUTES. I just printed 5x7 photo that took over 5 MINUTES!!! (Using my brand new 24" iMac...it's not my computer). Same computer printed photos w my last printer faster by a factor of 12. Loading bottom tray takes more effort than my old Canon as well. Absolutely hate the thing! Combine all this with the fact that the thing wasn't cheap either. At this price point I figured I'd get some semblance of quality...I figured wrong!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Printer For the Price I bought this printer to replace my 12 year old Pixma MX870 when it died. The TR8620a is smaller and lighter than the 870, a plus. It also prints noticeably faster than the 870. It was very reasonably priced, especially with Canon's discount as a replacement for the 870. Cons. The operation panel containing the screen on the front of the printer has to be raised in order to print. It requires a light touch or the panel tends to move. Doesn't feel sturdy. The paper cartridge has a partial cover that has to be removed when loading paper. I think a better option might have been for it to be hinged. Canon's technical support is outstanding. It was easy enough to connect to my computer via Wifi. However, I had intermittent problems with it not printing and scanning. Also, initially I had to turn the printer on before I could print, but it would turn off by itself. It took a couple of phone calls, but it now turns on when I go to print, turns off when I want it to and I no longer have issues with it printing and scanning. (The support person assigned a static IP address to eliminate the connectivity problem.) Overall I happy with this printer.

Also I prefer having one place for paper when you print text or pictures. Really don’t need front and back paper holders. I have to pull mine out to get to the back one

Although the display is nice when shut along with the printed paper receiver, I found it awkward to open the paper tray. I first have to shut the paper receiver and be careful also not to accidentally pull up on the display (I am always changing the paper so it just makes it tedious). The display is nice, like I said, and the print quality is excellent so that makes my other issues seem to take 2nd place with this printer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Replacing a Canon MG7720 Replacing a MG7720 which I had for ten years with the TR8620a. Set up was very easy and straight forward. HOWEVER, when it came time to connect to my computer, was another story. I made several attempts to connect printer to computer using the link provided in the getting started manual provided and was not able to get them paired. FINALLY, I read where the instructions was for Window users and I have a MAC! Then I attempted to manually connect printer to MAC by using the add printer feature in my system preference and after several attempts I finally got them to pair. Printing is a lot faster on the TR8620a than the MG7720, however, it is nosier. I like the display window where it displays if there's a new firmware to download. I do not like having to have the front panel open for printer to function, guess I got spoiled by the MG7720. Another feature I do not like, the TR8620a does not automatically shutoff when not used for a period of time, as did the MG7720. It appears to go into standby mode. I would have purchased another MG7720, but, that series have been discontinued. Overall, it does serve my purpose and A LOT cheaper than the MG7720.

Even allows machine to automatically turn off after an interval with no print jobs and then to turn on automatically when a print job comes along. Have to dig a little in printer's menus to set this up.
