I bought this wonderful printer on amazon refurbished and was not sure if I'd be able to get ink based off a few reviews listed here but behold, on this website they have a link to take you to a list of stores that sale this ink bundle online. It's abundant. Don't listen to the bad reviews about that. Buy your brother printer because it is top of the line quality. I have tried many other brands with disappointment and aggravation. Brother has always been the best printer company there is to me.

Ink does not last
I bought this machine at Staples 2 years ago, the ink that came with it did last a year, I don't copy that much thru the year, but when I bought replacement ink, I ran 2 pages off & now there is no ink to copy my receipts, I have $100.00 dollars tied up in ink that I no longer can use.

ISO Yields sure, reality not so good
These cartridges are very expensive for how much ink you get. There is an enormous amount of wasted space and no high yield available (know more can fit because the black already does it). Also there are no aftermarket options available and Brother makes up an arbitrary page count that is not actually based on how full the cartridge is (must use an algorithm to determine based on print job how much it thinks it has used) and the cartridges are chipped to ensure that it is difficult to work around (like refilling). Find a printer with a more common cartridge with aftermarket ones available.

Wish I had read reviews before I bought
I have always had a Brother printer and loved them, BUT this printer is hard to use, no screen to see what is going on , not user friendly and the ink has run out much quicker than any other printer I have had from them. The replacements are Very expensive and there is no off brand available. Do Not Buy this one!

User error on ink cartridges?
For some reason, the colored ink isn't working. The new black cartridge is working well. Maybe, just maybe this is user error? Hmmm...

Ink lasts a lot longer than most
I love the fact that I don't have to replace my ink every few months. My first purchase of ink was about a year after I bought the printer

Terrible … better off with an HP
The ink is a hassle to order and top of that is more expensive than other brands and types i’ve used in the past. I’m considering just trashing it rather than spending more money to replace the ink at current rate, considering I’m only using it a few times a month and printing few pages but yet the ink runs out quickly. Avoid this printer all together.

bought a j1205w recently and an extra set of ink cartridges, i barely get 25-50 pages from a set of cartridges for a product labeled inkvestment it is a ripoff. to add insult to injury there are no xl cartridges that make use of the wasted space, and no offbrand cartridges to make up for brother's lack of honesty or consideration.

I have owned numerous Brother printers. So it was an easy decision to purchase this one. Wow, I wish I would have rethought this and read reviews first. Ink runs out horribly fast and I rarely print anything. Also, the ink is very expensive. My last Brother printer I will buy. Going to an HP

Great so far
Good experience with printer so far. I print out a LOT of papers for school including power points with lots of colored pictures and ink has lasted me a good while. I appreciate that they cover ground shipping.

NO SCREEN, NO WAY TO KNOW WHAT IS WRONG
This printer has no screen to communicate with me, and it will not keep connected to my internet, so nothing and nothing is nothing. I have called support, but they could not do it either. I think I need to send it back. I am 79 years old, and this is just too difficult for me.

The estimate for the total number of pages is totally wrong.
The INK catridges are extremely expensive for the number of pages that you get. I used to have another Brother printer that I was extremely happy with. But now, I regret buying this printer. I am moving on to other brands.

I would not buy again
Home use. Ink very expensive. Brother advertises 750 pages What a laugh.- lucky to get 50 pages before one of the cartridges needs to be replace. Complained before but all Brother did was offer a discount on their overpriced ink. This printer has been frustrating me for 2 years and time to look for something that is NOT a Brother printer

Ink doesn't last enough
Even with sporadic events of printing the cartridges does not last long enough at least as the way the ISO estimates. Not a frequent user of printer, still not yielding enough. The cartridges to replace are of high cost and not valuable at this point.

I have needed to replace my genuine Brother ink cartridges 3 times in the past few months. I print around 20-30 sheets per week. Why does it run out so quickly? Do I need to change printer or ink?

Cartridges seem to be dried up!
I purchased this ink and followed all instructions, it does not print correctly, some of the image is lighter than others, the colors are very faded. I have had to email my stuff to my husband to print at his work due to the very very poor printing.
