This allows IT to automate redundant, low-value tasks by defining policies based on your organization's business rules. Now you can address storage challenges related to regulatory compliance and data security more effectively.

Novell lets you handle the growth of collaborative data with fewer incremental storage purchases. How? By automatically moving "stale" files from expensive primary storage to low-cost secondary storage, all based on customizable policies. Reuse existing hardware for secondary storage, thus optimizing your return on investment.

Storage management can be an expensive drain on IT resources. Novell allows you to automate tasks like managing quotas and provisioning/de-provisioning user storage. Then you can devote IT resources to more strategic projects.

Other solutions aim to manage blocks of data by size. Let the files of your most important users and groups be managed based on their relevance and value to your business. Direct other files to secondary storage and administration.

Novell's fast, scalable reporting capabilities provide exceptional visibility into the millions of files across your network. This gives you the information you need to plan for and deploy an efficient storage infrastructure.

VOLUME LICENSE AGREEMENT

The VLA offers a cost-effective way for organizations who want a low level of commitment to Novell to purchase licenses without a signed contract.

MASTER LICENSE AGREEMENT

Customers may qualify for the MLA in one of two ways: Make a qualifying initial purchase by purchasing any combination of new licenses, upgrade licenses, Software Maintenance, or services for any MLA product.

Transition from one of the other Novell Licensing levels (VLA or CLA). This option allows existing customers to apply the purchases from the past term of an existing CLA or VLA toward their MLA qualification requirement.

The combined purchases made by all of a customer's divisions, subsidiaries and affiliates apply toward making their initial qualifying purchase. In addition to the initial qualifying MLA purchase, the customer must submit a signed Master License Agreement to Novell.
