Rated 5 out of 5 by from completely useless, and frustrating experience -- the cord to my XPS-13 laptop had some sort of problem; the laptop would go on battery status unexpectedly, and i would have to make sure the two halves of the cord (joined by an adapter and the prong that goes into the side of the computer were all tightly enough pressed together. in order to re-establish the connection, i had to disconnect the halves of the cord on each side of the adapter from each other, then put them back together, and take the prong out of the side of the computer and press it back tightly. i couldn't tell whether the problem was at the juncture where the prong goes into the side of my computer or the juncture of that half of the cord and where it goes into the adapter, tho i could tell that the problem was not where the cord plugged into the wall. so i ordered another cord FROM THE DELL WEBSITE using the selection tool on that page, and since i was ordering one, i ordered two, so i could have one at my house and one at my office and not have to remember to take the cord each time i took the computer to one or the other. much to my distress and exasperation, i find that the prong that goes into the side of the laptop is WAY TOO BIG for the hole; it is at least twice the diameter of what it should be. i can't even get it INTO the hole where it goes into the side of the computer. this is true for both of the cords i ordered. and these are the cords that the dell selection tool chose (and, indeed, none of the others looked appropriate from the pictures). i've gotten a replacement cord for this laptop before (so this is now twice in three years that i've had to replace it, the last time after only a year, a completely unacceptable interim), and this took me completely by surprise -- a very unpleasant one. now i have to return both cords AND call dell to see what cord i should order. i love my laptop, but i did not love this experience.

I was looking for a replacement power cord/charger ( out: 150.0W 19.5V DC 6.7A; in: 100-240V~1.8A 50-60Hz Barrel connection ) for my 10 year old Dell lap top and was having a difficult time finding the correct one since none of the Dell online descriptions gave all the specs necessary to choose the correct part. When I called Dell, the customer service rep was very helpful, but took a long time finding the correct part. The power cord/charge I received was: out: 130.0W, 19.5VDC, 6.7A; in: 100-240VAC, 1.8A, 50-60Hz. Since the power cord/charge I received fit MOST of the specs, I assume that it was the closest that he could find. While the charger does fit & my laptop does function, the 130.0 W instead of 150.0 W makes my laptop much slower. Also, every time I turn it on, I receive a notice to check the connection because the power is low.

Running Windows 10 x 64 began having issues and even replaced the battery, but alas it finally quit charging. I use a docking station and after speaking with several techies outside of Dell decided to try a beefier PA. Fixed all issues and now have a good spare battery.

This one I got only lasted for a few months and I had to get another one. The guy I called offered me a measly $5 discount when I asked for a replacement. Awful. Wish there was an alternative, but I'm stuck buying low quality garbage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It was a relief to get Dell's help and solve my problem with this Power Cord/Adapter Dell customer service was very helpful; I had already done my research but he helped confirm my thoughts, which gave me more confidence to go ahead and order this part, vs. try other more expensive options first, which probably wouldn't have solved the problem. The Power Cord came within a few days, which was only delayed a bit because of July 4th holiday. It worked perfectly and solved my problem of a dead, black screen that wouldn't come on regardless of all efforts. It turned out to be an easy, inexpensive fix; I was relieved and appreciated the personal guidance from Dell

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Appears to have design flaw I have had 2 of these fail in less than 2 years. In both cases the casing around the laptop plug has broken and the insulation on the wires underneath has cracked, leading to shorts. I would recommend avoiding this charger if possible.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Complete Garbage These adapters come with the 15 series Gaming laptops, I bought 3 laptops and two have connectors that are starting to seperate from the cable itself, Dell's response even though less than a yr old, not covered under warranty and I need to buy new ones. so they make inferior product and then overprice the replacement that again will have the same quality which is a great scheme to make money on replacement parts.

Otherwise the shipping and packaging was fine, it arrived in good condition. But I will be annoyed in 6 months when I need to start wrapping it in electrical tap and thinking about ordering another one, and they are too expensive to keep ordering.

The person was very helpful, quick and provided a link for me to click to be able to purchase the charger in Canada. The cable arrived quickly and works great. It is more expensive than some alternatives, but well worth the money to have the correct approved Dell product for my laptop.

I've had to replace both components of the charger over the lifetime of my laptop, which hasn't been that long (both sections of cable have failed on me). Additionally, the LED in the laptop end is cool, but it's fairly bright and distracting. For something with such a high power, I'd hope it to be more utilitarian, simple and not too clunky (at least on the laptop end). Having the wires fray despite how well I've been storing it is simply unsafe.
