Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and you do not need ETL What is our primary use case? Qlik Replicate is a product used to replicate data. What is most valuable? A valuable feature of Qlik Replicate is that you do not need ETL. It's easy to use—you choose two systems and it automatically replicates them. Even if there is no CDC available, if you insert it and update it, and there is nothing to find out, then you can use Qlik Replicate. It's a good product. What needs improvement? This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved. For how long have I used the solution? Qlik bought Attunity, and I was working with Attunity Replicate for more than 10 years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? Qlik Replicate is stable. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? This solution is scalable. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Qlik Replicate is not expensive, compared to GoldenGate. Which other solutions did I evaluate? The competitors of Qlik Replicate are Oracle GoldenGate and Sybase Replication. What other advice do I have? I rate Qlik Replicate an eight out of ten. To someone looking into Qlik Replicate, I would say that it's easy to use and Qlik Replicate is only one part. You should know the data to replicate it. It's a technical solution. If you are an integration consultant and you are using a replication tool, you should also know ETL tools to complete the picture. If you want to use Qlik Replicate, you should also focus on the ETL side. Disclaimer: My company has a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer:

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reasonably priced reporting and analytics solution, with good scalability and stability What is our primary use case? We use Qlik Sense for consolidating and bringing together data across multiple sources, so our business users can get access to that data more easily, as it's sometimes difficult to access because of where it sits. How has it helped my organization? Our team used to create all types of visuals and reports for the business, but since we rolled out Qlik Sense, we were able to train other employees on how they can do the visuals and reports on their own. We were able to move some of the responsibility to other employees, and we were able to empower them to use the tool and take advantage of its features, and Qlik Sense has been great for that. Our team now acts more as a level two, level three support for the business. What is most valuable? What we like best about Qlik Sense is its ability to get to data and bring it together in a cohesive way. I also like that the on-premises and cloud versions of this product are more cohesive, which means they can integrate well. What needs improvement? As Qlik Sense is filling all the use cases that we need it to do, the only area for improvement I could think of for this product is for them to provide better support. We'd also like to see more automations and more integrations with third-party solutions and tools in the next version of this product. For how long have I used the solution? It's our third year of using Qlik Sense this year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? My rating for product stability is an eight out of ten. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I'm rating the scalability of this product an eight out of ten. How are customer service and support? Support for this product could be better. The good part is we don't have to deal with support very much. When we do, my rating is a two out of five, because their internal support is not great. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We tried a different solution, and we went with Qlik Sense, because of its features and use. It checked all the boxes for what we were trying to do. How was the initial setup? The initial setup for Qlik Sense was a little complex because of our environment, but we used an implementation partner to help us with setting it up. What about the implementation team? We implemented it with the help of an implementation partner. They were a consulting partner for Qlik. They just do support and consulting around Qlik. Our experience with them was very good. What was our ROI? I can't share much about the ROI, but we definitely have used the tool to produce manual level of effort for some groups, e.g. some as high as we saved 40 to 60 hours a month for one group who used to do manual reporting. We automated all their reporting with Qlik Sense, so now they can focus more on analyzing and using the data to run the business, then try and figure out how to pull it together and make sense of it, rather than spending more time creating manual reports. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? The licensing cost for Qlik Sense was fairly low, and is similar to other platforms that we use. Pricing for it is very reasonable. The only additional cost we incurred was for the resource to support the product. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We evaluated Power BI. What other advice do I have? We use Qlik Sense a lot. We use it as our enterprise solution. I manage it on the environment internally. We use Qlik Sense Enterprise and Qlik Sense SaaS. The deployment for this product is hybrid. We run Qlik Sense Enterprise on-premises in our data center, and we run Qlik Sense SaaS that's hosted by Qlik, but I don't know exactly where that's hosted. I wasn't involved in the implementation, but it was very fast, as it was only a 30-day implementation. We have 50 power users of Qlik Sense, but we have hundreds of users who only use it in a view capacity. For deployment and maintenance, since it's a small team, we only have two people who are supporting it. This product is being used as widely as we originally anticipated, but in terms of increasing usage, that's up in the air, because we were acquired a year and a half ago. Whether there are other tools that will replace this product, or whether we would increase users remains to be seen. My advice to others looking into implementing Qlik Sense is that it's a great product. They are constantly adding new features to it and improving it. We're also seeing more cohesiveness with their on-premises and cloud versions to integrate together, which is good. It's a product I'm recommending to other people. We're happy with it. My rating for Qlik Sense is an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good replication and support but needs better connectivity What is our primary use case? Most of the use cases involve changing the data capture and dealing with data replications. The main use case is data replication. All real-time data migrations are happening through Qlik. What is most valuable? Its capability to replicate the data without impacting the source databases performance-wise is the most useful aspect. In terms of the databases, what they do is they don't actually connect to the database and capture the data, and so they go with the logs. They, handle logs and capture the changes from there, and push those changes in real-time. The delay is in milliseconds. Within milliseconds' time, I can move the data to other databases. It's almost real-time for handling my real-time analytics. The solution is stable. Support has been great. What needs improvement? They can do a better job in the performance. They don't do much compression on the data migration. That's the one thing they need to fix. We'd like better connectivity. Initial migrations are taking up too much time. They can improve on replicating to multiple targets. For how long have I used the solution? We've been using the solution for almost two years now. What do I think about the stability of the solution? The solution is stable and reliable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The product is not really scalable. However, we can scale it with a little effort. Mostly data engineers are using the product at this time. How are customer service and support? Technical support is good. We get all the support we need. They are open for making changes as well for any issues. How was the initial setup? I did the POC only. The implementation and everything was done by the other team. My understanding is that it's not too hard, however, it's not exactly easy either. Sometimes we need assistance from Qlik. It took more than a week to deploy as we had a lot of other things already. There were a lot dependencies, including databases. There are a lot of other dependent configurations as well. We had to change the data capture, et cetera. We have three or four people that can handle deployment and maintenance. They are engineers. What about the implementation team? We occasionally may need assistance from Qlik during implementation. We mostly handled the initial setup in-house, however. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? I'm not sure of the exact cost of the solution. It depends on how you negotiate. Most products in this area have a similar cost. They are generally flexible. What other advice do I have? We are customers. It's implemented on both the public cloud and on-prem. I'd rate the solution seven out of ten. I'd advise potential users to review this product and see if it fits their needs. If it does, they should try it out. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Hybrid Cloud Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Database replication software that is user friendly to configure and offers very detailed error messages What is our primary use case? We use this solution for data warehouse replication. It is used by three network developers in our company. What is most valuable? It's very user-friendly when it comes to settings and configuration. It also offers very detailed logging about warnings and errors. What needs improvement? We would like to see more details in messages about errors with the system. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using this solution for one year. What do I think about the stability of the solution? This is a stable solution. How are customer service and support? We use a local company for support and do not rely on Qlik support. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? Before using Qlik Replicate we used to use QlikView and Qlik Sense for data visualization. Our vendors recommended to use Qlik Replicate instead. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very straightforward. There is a recommendation on the Qlik website about database configuration and there is very good step by step manual for getting set up. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Qlik Replicate offers an annual subscription, but after five years a solution like GoldenGate offers a lower price. Overall, Qlik is an expensive solution. You need to pay for all additional features that you would like to use. What other advice do I have? I would rate this solution a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Public Cloud Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective transformation, beneficial data manipulation, but user interfaces could improve What is our primary use case? We use EC2 for the cloud service for Qlik Replicate. We generally use Qlik Replicate from SQL server source to SQL server source destination, or to the AWS RDS instance. Either a single server on-premise or AWS RDS Postgre Aurora. How has it helped my organization? Qlik Replicate has improved our organization because it has allowed each team the ability to do their own data replication into our single-source data, such as data lake or our AWS. All the data can be moved to a single location. What is most valuable? The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are data manipulation and transformations. What needs improvement? When you remote into it the Qlik Replicate UI a lot of times it just freezes. We set up the EC2, to allow them to go to the server and click on the Replicate icon, it just opens up and just sits there. At that point, we have to go into the EC2 and then reboot the server. This should be fixed, it is frustrating. When we do receive errors when the solution suddenly fails it will give a message of "Error." You have to go and figure out which setting you have to tweak to get the actual error. This could be improved by being more descriptive or more intuitive. They have eight different options of things the error would say, such as enhance logging, but you don't really know what that means. The wording doesn't tell you if it fails. It makes it difficult when trying to find the actual problem. In a feature release, they could improve the solution by making it easier to use two different destinations. If we want to do have on-premise and in the cloud, it seemed difficult when I was attempting the process. It would be useful to just have one source and then two different destinations, using the same transformations and other configurations. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Qlik Replicate for approximately six months ago. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? The scalability is very good because we are using Amazon AWS. We have approximately 10 people using the solution in my organization and most of them are developers, such as software engineers. The solution is moderately used in our organization. How are customer service and support? The technical support could improve. It is difficult to connect with them on the phone. There can be a lot of back and forth communication. Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch? We previously used SSIS and an in-house built product. We ended up choosing Qlik Replicate because we were doing a lot of transforms, and decided to list the data in one place. Qlik Replicate was a good product to get data over without turning on a CDC. We wanted a tool that was easy to use and we decided Qlik Replicate was right for us. How was the initial setup? The initial setup involved setting up the source and the privileges needed on every source. DBAs don't like that too much, but they have to give each team access privileges but that's the only way to use Qlik Replicate. Additionally but then the troubleshooting and stuff, it took about a month just getting all the stuff right, all the details. The initial additional troubleshooting and other aspects of the implementation took about a month to have all set up correctly. What about the implementation team? We did the implementation in-house. The solution has not needed a lot of maintenance, we do not have an assigned individual for maintenance. Which other solutions did I evaluate? We are evaluating other solutions at this time, such as DM, which uses Qlik Replicate in the background. What other advice do I have? Overall the solution is straightforward to use. It does a good job at what it needs to, but it's not as robust in the transformations, for example, the lookups. I rate Qlik Replicate a seven out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Public Cloud If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use? Amazon Web Services (AWS) Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great around replicating and updating records which improves performance What is our primary use case? Our main use case is replicating a source database to another database in order to have the information ready for our analytic users close to real-time and for use in different business intelligence software. I'm a solutions architect. How has it helped my organization? Replicate has improved our performance in the database source. It also has the ability to have many analytic users doing different SQLs against the target data source. We've been able to improve the performance in the source without affecting the operational users. What is most valuable? The most important feature is around replicating and updating records. We previously had to employ a programmer to replicate the difference between target and source and we no longer need to do that. What needs improvement? An issue we have is that it's not possible to replicate the QVC files in data analytics. It would be helpful if they could solve that. When it comes to metadata, the business name of the fields could be improved to have a catalog very close to the user to link the technical names to the business name. For how long have I used the solution? I've been using this solution for two years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? We haven't had any issues with stability. How are customer service and support? We're happy that we have access to Spanish-speaking support and they provide a good service. How was the initial setup? The initial setup is very simple. It's a matter of choosing your source database and then your target database. The configuration is easy. What was our ROI? We've seen an ROI in terms of time and money, particularly where workers have been able to turn to other tasks because they have more time. What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing? Licensing costs are reasonable and depend on your needs. What other advice do I have? We are achieving our goals with this solution. It's important to compare the products on the market to find which best suits your use case. I rate this solution eight out of 10. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? Hybrid Cloud Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Efficiently replicate data What is our primary use case? There were a variety of sources which we needed to replicate data from, such as databases and file systems. What is most valuable? Mostly the databases which we used were able to find the connectors for. So, I would say that a pretty good series of connectors is one of the best features of Qlik Replicate. What needs improvement? There is room for improvement in the UI. The UI and data version control can be improved. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Qlik Replicate for a year and a half. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? There are about five to six users in my company using Qlik Replicate. How was the initial setup? I didn't face many challenges while setting it up for the Qlik Replicate tool. What other advice do I have? It's a pretty good tool to use. When using it, make sure to check the connections, and it's great for full loads and implementation. Overall, I would rate it a nine out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A highly stable solution that can be used to change data capture in legacy systems How has it helped my organization? Qlik Replicate has allowed us to change data capture in legacy systems. What is most valuable? We use Qlik Replicate to change data capture of databases in production environments. What needs improvement? Qlik Replicate is a little fuzzy sometimes as to how it's priced. It would be better if the solution’s pricing were more obvious. For how long have I used the solution? I have been using Qlik Replicate for five years. What do I think about the stability of the solution? I rate Qlik Replicate ten out of ten for stability. What do I think about the scalability of the solution? I rate Qlik Replicate an eight out of ten for scalability. How was the initial setup? The solution’s initial setup is very straightforward. What was our ROI? We have seen a return on investment with Qlik Replicate. There was a reduction in database usage within one customer by 30%. There was a reduction in data storage by 20% because we're just changing data capture versus moving volumes of data. Which other solutions did I evaluate? Before choosing Qlik Replicate, we evaluated Fivetran and a couple of other solutions. We chose Qlik Replicate because the other solutions didn't have the same changed data capture capabilities as Qlik Replicate. What other advice do I have? Users should ensure they know what their use cases are for the short term and consider it for long-term use cases as well. Overall, I rate Qlik Replicate an eight out of ten. Which deployment model are you using for this solution? On-premises Disclaimer: I am a real user, and this review is based on my own experience and opinions.
