Avocent SV240H - KVM switch - 4 ports is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but needs updates to be great I purchased this KVM to switch between my work laptop, home PC, and server, plus one open for working on other computers. It is connected to 1 of my 2k 2650x1440 monitors and a USB Keyboard and mouse. The KVM it replaced did not support this higher resolutions I need. Pros: It works and switches quickly between computers. It stays connected to the computer even when switched away. (another display port KVM I purchased disconnected the monitor from the computer when switching. Then windows had to re-detect the monitor). My Keyboard and mouse work with it. No video or color loss. Buttons feel good and the quality of the case is great. Cons: None of the extra Media buttons on my keyboard work with the KVM. So no Volume controls no instant calculator. This is sad because my old KVM from 2004 allowed all of these functions. Very bright LED light runs across the front of the KVM and no way to disable it. They keyboard select feature is WAY to sensitive and uses the regular numbers and not function keys so I am constantly accidentally changing computers while working or gaming. There is no way to disable the keyboard switching functionality that I know of. The power converter is internal which has just now after 3 months of use started to hum loudly and make noise. It is now the loudest thing in my office. Very annoying. If the power was external at lease I could replace it easily. Now I am looking at finding a replacement KVM. Zero support from manufacturer. Price is high. Conclusion: Not a lot of KVMs support high resolutions and this one does. It is hard to find reviews on high end KVMs as they are costly. This KVM does work. It supports all the resolutions I need and does work well at switching computers. I am happy to have it but I am going to replace it do to the cons listed. I hope this helps you in your purchases.
