The Smart Array 4200 Ultra2 SCSI array controller offers ProLiant customers up to four times the processor performance of current Smart Array controllers. This increased performance is achieved with the introduction of a new 64-bit architecture providing more processing horsepower and bandwidth.
The Smart Array 4200 is a 4-channel array controller offering RAID level 0, 1, 0+1, 4, and 5 data protection. With 64-bit PCI support, this controller provides the performance and bandwidth to compliment the powerful 8-way ProLiant servers while supporting Wide Ultra2 or Wide-Ultra HDDs in 2P and 4P servers as well. This extension to the Smart Array product family maintains the Compaq commitment to data compatibility between controllers for easy data migration and controller upgradability.
