Rated 5 out of 5 by from works flawlessly replaced a phaser 8560 which became a dog and had no longer worked despite the maintenance contract. The rebate and price convinced me to move to the colorqube and I'm very happy - although the ink is still expensive for a home office use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointing step DOWN from a previous Xerox I wanted to love this printer. I'd waited a couple generations of the Phazer solid ink printers before deciding to upgrade. I've previously owned an 860, and an 8860 which I still have (Thankfully.)Yes, the print quality is great. And yes, I love the solid ink cartridges, etc. All familiar things with this line.But... I would hardly call this a workhorse. The driver now has soo... many selections for how it handles paper, and it's incredibly finicky if you choose the wrong ones.First problem: it ALWAYS wants to print 2 sided. I had to get tech support to help figure out where... in the printer's settings... I could disable this.Second problem: paper handling. The old 860 and 8860 would work with pretty much anything I threw at them. But, for whatever reasons, this one can't handle certain things. Specifically, it will NOT allow you to print double sided to card stock. (Yes, the old ones did.) Second, I print hundreds of shipping labels for my business, the half page kind. Because of how it handles the paper, as it rolls through the trays, at the point where the label ever-so-slightly bows out in the middle where the seam between the two sides exists, the printer thinks the label has jammed and stops. I have to baby sit label printing, and yank out a label as often as every 5th or 6th label. This is a design flaw. The old printers handle this easily.3rd problem: speed. Yes, it 'can' be fast... but seemingly to help meet various energy conservation criteria... it's not. It sometimes takes 1-2 minutes to get the first page out... even if I printed a page just minutes before. It forces itself into some sort of 'sleep, but not sleep' energy saving mode that makes it have to do a little warm up EVERY time it prints a new job. Likewise, maybe because of some thermal thing, it might be happily printing the same page over and over... and then for no particular reason, it slows to a craaaawwwwl. And as best i can tell, most of these settings/symptoms are inherent in its design, and can't be bypassed with simple preferences.I tolerate this printer because it was a large investment... but find I need to use my OLD one when I 'really' have to get some work done.
