Product Reviews

Rated 1 out of 5 by These cards are bunk! These cards are probably the worst product I've ever purchased! I've had multiple cards just go offline and never come back. Others I've had go offline and required me to un-seat and re-seat them to get them back up but when you do that all your settings are gone. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Rated 1 out of 5 by Too much problems with this card It happens too oftenly that the card bugs and looses snmp capabilities. We must reslot the card, but when we've this kind of card on remote location, it's not a great thing. Also, lot of problems with firmware upgrades. One time, one of the card failed during the process and the card was scrap, nothing that support can do, we must buy another card! July 22, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good but needs work This is a great tool for monitoring your UPS. It can provide email alerts for such things as temperature, which is what we primarily use it for, however the email's don't contain the current temp so you have to log into the web interface which leads me to my next issue. This is a Java based web interface and in order to use it you have to revert back to old versions or make changes to Java's security files. Either method doesn't seem acceptable and a change should be made to how this interface operates. Who wants to get an alert, find out they upgraded to a new version of Java, have to uninstall that version, reinstall an outdated version, allow for all of the Java security warnings (which seems to only work in Firefox) and then hope for the best? Not me. Good idea, poor execution. I still would recommend it because I don't see a better option at this point. Change the web interface and Tripplite has a winner. June 7, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Overall unreliable, poor design and Java needs to die. I have used the Tripp-Lite SNMP Web Card devices to mannage our UPS for almost 8 years and have them installed in 20 devices. The latest firmware revision requires reboot every 6-9 months to keep it operational. Sometimes the web server dies, but you can still reach it from ssh/telnet. The only way to reboot the device and restore connectivity is to physically remove it from the UPS housing. First they need to make the device more reliable and is they are unable to do that, they need to put a reset button on it. Getting to the device at the bottom of the server cabinet is not easy and the dinky screws they use on the faceplate are easily lost. The requirement to have JAVA installed in the browser is unfortunate. With the inherent security risk of having JAVA installed, the steps browser manufacturers are taking to prevent it from running and Oracle's decision to EOL the plugin, Tripp-Lite needs to move to HTML 5. Rated 1 out of 5 by Too much bugs with firmwares We've 10 snmpwebcard and there's a lot of problem with firmware. At the beginning, we've to reboot the card randomly about 1-2 times a year. We update to the latest firmware, it all works on 8 cards but scrap one card (the card hang up during the process and become unusable) and the other one I've to call the support back to be able to access it again. Rated 5 out of 5 by Worthwhile accessory for Tripp Lite UPS systems web card is used to monitor and send email alerts for out of threshold conditions. The ability to add the envirosense and tie it to the same monitoring/alert system is very handy. The card has a lot of options and setup features and is not the easiest tool of it's kind to set up but once set up it works every bit as well as expected from a Tripp Lite product. January 13, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works great! This device does what it's meant to do. All the important information is now remotely available. The user interface is a Java applet so it's platform agnostic as long as your browser supports the Java plugin. The user interface is a little sluggish, but it's not a real nuisance since administration is not something that is required frequently. I must mention, I messed up the first firmware upgrade which required some assistance from support. It was a fault of mine, not the device. I submitted a support case via the support web application and the issue was resolved in a day. I was very pleased with the support teams ability to quickly resolve my issue. December 29, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Expensive mistake buying these We deployed 8 PDU's with these units to our remote locations hoping we'd be able to use them to hard reset frozen servers. Unfortunately they are just an expensive power strip. The web card interface uses outdated java, and the version on your computer has to match the version the card would like. So if you want to manage them, you'll have to uninstall whatever version of java you have (if you have it at all) and then install the correct architecture (32 bit or 64 bit) and version (last I was able to get to work was version 7) of java. Hopefully you pick the right one or you'll have to do it all again. Once you get java installed, you MIGHT be lucky enough to not have a bricked snmp webcard. After 6 months in the field, we have 1 out of 8 we can access remotely. We have started deploying another brand (that doesn't use java) and will probably throw these in the trash once they are replaced. November 19, 2015
