Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works OK, but... It works pretty well. I have owned mine for about 2 years now. The only persistent problems I have with it (even with the newest firmware) is that the router administration page becomes unreachable at least once a week, requiring a reboot of the router. Also, it doesn't work with Apple's Time Machine. If you hook a USB drive to either of the USB ports, you can indeed access the drives to read and write files to them, but, if you try to select the drive in Time Machine to be used as the backup drive, it will not be detected for use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally able to realize this product's capablities! As I write this review we are less than one week into service with a new cable ISP (100 Mbps). I've actually had the AC1900 for about a year, but haven't been able to give it a fair review as our old isp was incredibly slow (5Mbps). What I loved about connecting the AC1900 to our new service was that it was 100% seamless; I just powered everything down, put the TP-Link in-line, powered up, and in a few minutes we had a strong wi-fi signal throughout our house - brick, two floors with a roughly 2000 sq. ft. footprint. With the router on the main floor in a room in the middle of the house, we're getting a strong signal throughout the upstairs and the basement. We run two smart phones, two iPads, and two Apple TV systems. We use the 5GHz 1300Mbps band to stream videos and the signal and connection is exceptionally strong. I had to download a 2.5 gb firmware update for my phone the day after we got our new isp and had the router in place. Using Wi-Fi, transmitting from the main floor to the basement, the download took less than 5 minutes. We do not game, so no clue how this device would work for gaming. This is the first stand-alone wireless router we've ever owned, so I do not know how it compares to other brands, but so far I am beyond satisfied with how well it works for us!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerful Router! WIFI Everywhere! This was a gift for my girlfriend's family. They have a big 2 story house (2,100 ft^2) in San Francisco, CA and they often struggle with being able to connect to WIFI in all parts of their house. Once we swapped out the routers, they were able to get WIFI in all parts of the house! Before they had to rely on wifi range extenders, but now they don't need to even use them!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Router "This is a review of a free product received from TP-Link as part of the review program." The Archer c1900 is a really nice full featured router. The router has some really great features, guest networks being one of my favorites. The nice part is it has the ability to restrict guests from accessing your local network which is nice to keep those pesky friends from nosing around your network. Another cool feature of the c1900 is the ability to share USB drives across the network. This is great for setting a backup destination as well as a central drop box for files. The Archer c1900 also has printer sharing, while many printers now have WIFI or network connection it's still a nice feature to have. The parental controls are good too, this allows the parent to control what websites certain computers on the network can access. This is great if you have kids with tablets or laptops but don't want them to have unfiltered access to the internet. A big miss in my opinion is the lack of HTTPS support for the routers management interface, I wouldn't say that it's a deal breaker but it would have been nice to have the option. All in all this is a nice and fast SOHO router, with tons of advanced features and a smooth user interface.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tri-band router offering excellent performance The TP-Link AP500 is dual band. It offers AC1900 speeds on the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. This gives you the ability to reach 1900 Mbps. The design is black and offers a unique diamond pattern on it. The antennas are detachable and can be oriented to your liking. I like that you can detach antennas this is an excellent design feature and can allow for customization and even adding more powerful antennas. Setting up the device is really easy and does allow for a web based setup and doesn't force you to use a TP-Link app. Tri-band support is what makes this device have excellent range and performance. You will have three distinct bands that let all devices connect with no lag, dropped packets, or slow performance. I definitely recommend this if you're looking to extend your network or add more wired to devices to connect to your WIFI then this will be a perfect solution.
