Product Reviews
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 227reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by The OS itself has appeared very stable and reliable. I've managed to keep servers running for 90 days + without many issues. The only reason why i haven't given this 5 stars is that awful start menu. I can understand it being in windows 8 & 8.1 because they might be running on a touchscreen and it's nice to use a full screen start menu on a touchscreen but when was the last time you had a business critical MS SQL Server running on a touchscreen or a tablet. Rated 5 out of 5 by Windows Server 2012 was a most welcome upgrade to this fine server OS. It brings with it some huge improvements across the board. Server 2012 also comes with PowerShell V3 built in, supported by a wealth of new cmdlts, and remoting enabled by default. Hyper-V is massively improved. August 14, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by After getting over the shock and to a certain degree of annoyance of the Metro interface it isn't bad for a first attempt. From a server perspective go with R2. You will save yourself headaches! August 5, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Pretty much hate the GUI and avoiding it because of the GUI in favor of 2008 R2, everything else top-notch. July 27, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Windows server 2012 and especially R2 has been a reliable and easy to manage server operating system. The GUI interface takes a bit of getting used to and brushing into the corners is not the best when running an RDP connection. But it is another sound OS from microsoft July 25, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Windows Server 2012 has some respectable under the covers improvements that are negated by the idiotic interface. The person who decided to put a touch screen interface on a server OS should be run out of IT. I should deduct a star for the aggressive price increases that came with 2012 and R2. July 12, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by As far as products in the Windows family go, 2012 has been easy to manage, and stable. A little bit of a learning curve for items in new places, but not too bad. July 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Coming from old environments of 2003 and even from the recent 2008 R2, this is a welcome update. Much easier management from a admin prospective, virtualization feels more like a breeze. GPOs and the overall management feels much smoother and more responsive July 8, 2016
