Product Reviews
Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 217reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality The quality is just as good as a new Linksys router, bought the router refurbished but is works and operates as well as a new Linksys product. October 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 1000x better than my previous wireless router! I bought this Linksys router a few weeks ago when I decided to change my home internet provider from AT&T (Frontier) to Time Warner. Time Warner offers its customers one of its own wireless routers for $10 a month, of you can provide your own router for no charge. Since I knew I'd have this service for over a year, the cost to buy my own router seemed the more logical option - I'd save money in the long run and have the ability to choose the router that best fit my family needs, instead of the 'rack' router that the ISP was going to provide and charge me for indefinitely. I'd made that mistake before, and as router technology improved, my ISP didnt update/change my router. I was stuck for 4 years with a sub-par ISP router and was determined not to make the same mistake.Time Warner had numerous third-party compatible routers they promoted on their site; I did my research, and chose the Linksys WRT1200AC because of its high quality and performance ratings, and the great brand history. I've owned Linksys routers in the past and loved them because they were easy and reliable - never an issue. My experience this time has been equally positive. If I have any complaints, it is that the initial setup process wasnt as smooth as I would like. The router wouldnt recognize my ISP service, but I soon realized that was because there was a registration process that had to happen to active the ISP modem first, but that was only possible with my router active, so it was a little chicken & egg. If I had previously registered the cable modem before installing the Linksys router, I imagine this process would have been seamless. Eventually (within an hour) I figured it out and all's well or even better. Since the last time I owned a Linksys router, there have been dramatic improvements, including the Linskys Smart Wi-Fi app that allows me to monitor and control my router from my mobile device or web browser. The router interface provides more intelligence than before, and I love the dual-band options. I have some of my lower-use wifi devices at home (printer etc) operating off the lower band channels, and my mobile and streaming devices on the higher bands. I'm sure there is much more I still need to learn about my new router options, and am excited I have the ability to pick and choose the features that meet my needs. More exploring to come! Rated 5 out of 5 by Good features This router replaces an older Linksys and thought it was time to upgrade. October 13, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Linksys WRT 1200AC I always had a Linksys router. This is my third one. With each router being better and faster than the old ones. October 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Works as advertised I bought it to replace a ten year old low budget Linksys router that was failing. It Works as intended. What more could you ask for. It's a router. Automatic setup didn't work for me. I think that is a problem on the Telco end. Telco tech support helped with the addresses to input by hand. No big deal. I've replaced routers before. Rated 2 out of 5 by Very disappointed in this product. I've been in the tech world for 20+ years now and I've always bought Linksys routers for my home. So when I decided to switch my ISP I went with a new router as well. Well long story short, the wireless functionality of this router is deplorable. I have to reboot the router weekly sometimes more to get the wireless working properly again. This goes for both the 2.4 and 5 Ghz bands. My initial purchase was returned to the purchasing store as I thought I may have just received a 'bad' unit. The Second unit is no better. Same issues. I've even tried to set up specific channels and ranges for the different bands as to hopefully not conflict with neighbors to no avail. I do like the web interface to the admin console. Nice touch there as I can at least reboot from a remote location when my wife tells me she is having trouble accessing the web. But I have to say, having to reboot this device this often is unacceptable. I've come to expect more from this company, but I guess it's time to start looking elsewhere. September 20, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Stable at All the performance of this router is not stable at all, out of a sudden I get very slow speed and websites stop loading, the only remedy is to restart it. I have been using it for almost a year now and these stuff are becoming so frequent that I have to restart more than once a day, also if two devices are running youtube they connection become so slow (I have 32 Mbps connection) which should be adequate for video streaming (Not talking 4k of even HD)!. I have the latest firmware though. it seems its the time to say good by to Linksys product! September 17, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Its Just another Wireless AC with N and G The only reason most people are getting faster internet once installing this is that their old router would only put out at max 25 30 Mbps, however your modem was putting out 60 or 100 whatever you have. So by just swapping your router to a New AC Router that has the ability to have a max throughput of 60 to 120mbps in some cases where your old router was just the 25 30. September 13, 2016
