Rated 1 out of 5 by Setup doesn't work The setup states to open System Preferences and click on Bluetooth, then press all four buttons, and if the LED flashes blue, to look for "Expert Wireless TB" on the screen. I have tried this numerous times, with the dongle installed and not installed. "Expert Wireless TB" does not appear. Your "manual" and your website are both useless to try to troubleshoot this problem. I am about to return your expensive paperweight to the dealer. October 12, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Losses Wireless Connection. Bluetooth No Connect I have had two of the wired versions in my pro studio for years. Wanted a cleaner desk look and got the wireless for my 2015 iMac. The Bluetooth never connects at all and the wireless never connects after the computer goes to sleep. You have to reboot the computer or pull out the dongle and replug it. Annoying. I can't recall a wireless mouse of any kind that I've ever had this problem and this unit is not cheap. I'm returning it for a refund. September 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Scrolling is impossible It is unstable and almost impossible to scroll with the scrolling wringI have to grab the darn thing with left hand and press with right hand fingers to scroll.not good for work its usless. September 9, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Better than a mouse Just like another reviewer I was stoked to replace the older one that died after about a decade. Credit is due for how Kensington is able to display & describe their products to trigger the "buy" decision. My first suggestion after about 4 months of limping along with this product is for Kensington to reassign a good portion of their marketing budget to quality control. After installing windows 10, the trackball is only recognized as a regular mouse. Reinstalling drivers does nothing, TrackballWorks says no Kensington device is attached. (Despite the fact that I am using a Kensington Trackball.). What I paid $99 for has lost about 60% of its value to me within one business quarter. My previous Kensington TB was bought used in the early 2000's and died in late 2012. Kensington was the only brand I considered due to how happy I was. I will also 2nd the other comment on quality not being what Kensington had a reputation for. The old one was solid, smooth with no play in the ball. This one is much lighter (even though larger and has more features), the slack in the scroll ring makes precise work more complicated, the feel of the clicks on the buttons is weak, making me suspect the some interior component will fail within the year. Plus about 20% of the time when I come back to the computer after it goes into power saving mode the TB connection is missing. The solution is unplug the wireless receiver from the PC, deep breath, count to ten, plug it back in, finished up by appropriate swearing). For my uses on the PC I will continue to use this TB (better than a mouse IMO) while I am hunting for a quality replacement. Any suggestions? July 9, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by A superb trackball, but ... I used the wired version for several years and never found a better trackball.Recently I bought the wireless one. Such a pity it turned out it cannot be customized on a Mac under OSX 10.11. I got it working by downgrading to an earlier version of OSX, but this was not a practical solution, because I also had to downgrade other software. I had to return the mouse, with pain in my heart. Please Kensington, it must be possible to fix this problem. June 13, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Meh Big, heavy, clunky. You won't be tossing this into a laptop bag. The mouse tracking defaults are too fast, the scroll ring defaults too slow. I'd love to adjust them and also try different button locations, but TrackballWorks doesn't recongize the trackball on Mac Yosemite, either on Bluetooth or the annoying proprietary 2.4 wireless that Kensington can't seem to wean themselves off of. Rated 2 out of 5 by Kinda bummed out - loses connection Have a brand new one, and am using it but it is losing connection all the time - on my top of the line Mac Pro. Had a wired one that was perfect for 3 years until it died recently and thought - a wireless one would be cool but it stops working like every 5-10 minutes, and freezes, loses connection, for a good 10 seconds or so. This stinks when you are a professional video editor and you lose your flow. Ive also noticed that when it does finally come back to life it shifts the browser window or whatever application / window I am working on - like it zooms in on it, then it zooms out fast, THEN it works. So this little gadget it causing quite a mess. May 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best wireless trackball Pros:+ Excellent functionality/programmability+ Great feel, especially if you're used to the wired versionCons:- The scroll ring is too loose. Rattles and is annoyingly noisy in an open cubicle office.Overall, buy it if you like a full size, centered trackball. I do and love it. April 15, 2016
