Rated 5 out of 5 by Product performed as advertised. This printer did what the marketing said it would do. March 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outstanding Printer We've had this printer in place now since Aug and are still on the original high capacity cartridges. Staff love it. Big bonus is that it doesn't crinkle envelopes like the laser printer did. One of the regular print jobs involves several hundred letters followed by the envelopes all done without problem. The ink cartridges have triple the output of the replaced laser printer for the same cost per unit. How can you go wrong? It is slightly faster and a little quieter than the laser printer, which is a good thing in a small office. Though a touch screen would be nice (luxury item) it is by no means necessary to get the printer setup and running quickly. We really like this printer. February 18, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This has been a great printer for us. One of the first to exceed it's estimated page estimates with plenty of ink left to spare. A very fast printer and colors are fairly good, not as good vibrancy as toner but still good. One issue that has come up is printing from windows photo viewer, there is a thin line through the entire page, happens every time and only from that application. Easy work around I suppose. There are plenty of hacks to use generic toner in this, however HP seems to have gone out of their way to make the original toner fairly affordable already and I don't see a need to use generic in this situation. We now own two of these and they have both been rock solid.I'd really like the 'page wide technology' to be available for monochrome as well, I'd replace a fleet of smaller printers for that. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a printer for production envirionment We bought a couple of these printers. One work group sends 75-100 print jobs consecutively to the printer. Each job prints really fast, consisting of 1-3 pages; however, there is a 15-30 second queue time between each job. So what should take 5-10 minutes takes 30-45 minutes. We retired the printer and resorted to an old laser printer to perform this task. January 31, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by This printer is really good. It is designed for small workgroups with an amount of 500 - 2800 pages per month (max is ~50.000 pages).- fast (compared to LaserJets of same class)- quiet (compared to laser printers)- less power consumption than a laser printerNOTE: You can use "normal" paper for printing (and it works well). But, if you want to print black text/lines on colored background (i.e. spredsheets) it becomes blurred on "normal" paper. No problems if you use "ColorLok Paper" ... July 18, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Printer we have This printer replaced a color Laser printer that we had from another manufacturer. We only had it for 2 weeks but it out produces our old printer hands down. This printer is faster and easier to use and it is a LOT CHEAPER to operate. So what's not to like. June 27, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great product! Although the unit itself could be a bit smaller, the product performs very nicely. June 5, 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Other similar models are better value - LCD display is disappointing If you have seen or used the higher end versions of the new Office Jet Pro X series inkjet printers don't be fooled and think saving money on this is worth it.I evaluated this printer vs it's bigger brother and hadn't realized at the time we ordered it that the LCD is NOT a touch screen, NOT color and NOT easy to use. Granted, it isn't much worse than some other printers out there but for the slight difference in price of this vs the 551 I don't think it is worth it.This printer is slower and not as easy to use, setup or configure. Personally, I'd stay away with it and invest the few extra dollars in the better and faster units.Other than that the printing technology is the same and has all the same pros and cons of the bigger units.
