Product Reviews
Rated 2.8 out of 5 by 4reviewers.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Only works with few low end DLink cameras I bought this with a 850L and then a 5092L. It only recognizes and works with our old 942L. Dlink needs to list the cameras this will work with OR make it compatible with all the cameras they make.. 2/5, would be 5/5 if it worked with other DLink cameras. April 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great solution Does the job very well and it's easy to install / use.Real time recording is what I was looking for. I have 3 interior cameras and one exterior camera under management of the DNR-202L so I can see who's coming home and exactly when while I am away. . The fact that it is a standalone unit (not running on a pc) is a major plus since you can hide it anywhere. If someone break in, they might run with the pc but they will never see my DNR unit. Rated 2 out of 5 by Good idea, needs to be perfected The idea of a compact, inexpensive NVR that uses user selectable storage is great. The features available, if working, would make this a nice way to monitor your cameras and motion events from anywhere. Unfortunately, I could never get enough of the features to work and in the end returned the unit. In its place, the D-Link IP camera has most of the features without the NVR and is more reliable. What worked on DNR-202L: Automatic recording of the camera video and audio stream. What didn't work: Taking snapshots or video clips and selecting where to save. Also, accurately selecting the time segment to view from a recording. The time selected was different from the actual time of the recording the unit would play. At one point the unit would not take the correct password, even after reboot. This product is probably worth another look in one or two years assuming the bugs have been worked out. February 18, 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Good idea, poorly executed Short Version: Too buggy, dont get it.Long Version:Own a couple of D-Link cameras and must say they are a great value and works pretty much to my satisfaction. The cameras only have a few buggy features but nothing that you can't figure out yourself. This DNR-202L feels way too rushed, there loads of issues with this product and even though I think that a refreshed or updated version in 2015 will work as great as the cameras do, at the moment this product is a real pain to use.If you dont know how to setup your own FTP, or if you never heard of NAS, I think this product will just be too difficult to setup for u, and yes I have updated to latest firmware etc, but reliability issues still persist.
