The DIR-850L Wireless AC1200 Dual-Band Gigabit Cloud Router lets you easily connect to, control and monitor your network using the future of wireless technology and unique mydlink. By downloading the free mydlink app you can monitor your home network remotely. Plus, with the included SharePort Technology, accessing and sharing your files, playlists and videos have never been so easy.

This router creates the fastest home network possible today connecting all of your computers and mobile devices to your broadband Internet connection. Concurrent dual-band 802.11ac brings you the future of high-bandwidth wireless connectivity, allowing you to stream HD video, make Internet calls, and surf the Internet without interruption. Gigabit Ethernet ports provide high-speed wired connections for up to four PCs or other devices. It's stylish, easy-to-use, and is IPv6-ready for a reliable network today and tomorrow.

The DIR-850L uses the latest Wireless AC technology, which can provide transfer rates of up to 867 Mbps. Faster gigabit wireless speeds allow you to download contents and sync files 3 times faster than the previous standard and provide you with whole home coverage. The router operates on both the 2.4 GHz band and 5 GHz wireless bands at the same time using concurrent dual-band technology and six internal antennas. This allows you to browse the web, chat and e-mail using the 2.4 GHz band, while simultaneously streaming digital media, playing online games, or making Internet phone calls on the 5 GHz band.

This router gives you complete control by allowing you to monitor who is connecting to your network, which sites they are visiting and block unwanted visitors. You can monitor your home network remotely through the mydlink web portal or by downloading the free mydlink app available for your iOS or Android devices.

Connect a USB storage device to your DIR-850L to create a shared storage space, making it easy to access and share files between computers and devices connected to your network. Plug in a USB hard drive to stream your library of videos and music to your laptop. Plus, the SharePort Mobile app for iOS and Android devices allows you to back up photos and videos stored on your device. You can even customise your shared storage space by creating separate accounts to control access to the USB drive, so you can share your music with everyone but keep your personal files private. This Cloud Router can also be used as a media server for your home to stream media stored on your USB storage drive to any DLNA compliant player like the Boxee Box by D-Link.

Get the DIR-850L up and running in no time right from your couch using the QRS (Quick Router Setup) Mobile app on your iOS or Android device. Simply plug in the router, open the app, and follow a few easy steps to get your home network connected without having to touch a computer. You can also set up a secure network with the touch of a button using Wi-Fi Protected Setup. Simply press the WPS button to instantly establish a secure connection to a device. If you have additional mydlink products, you can take advantage of mydlink Zero Configuration. Simply connect your mydlink-enabled device to the DIR-850L and the router will automatically link it to your mydlink account with no configuration required.

The elegant curves and vertical design of this Cloud Router mean that you don't need to hide another piece of tech clutter in your home. With all ports and connectors discreetly hidden on the back of the device, you can proudly display your router as a seamless part of any modern home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Only one option missing Excellent unit, only option missing is the ability to convert it into a WiFi Access Point. February 15, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worked for ~15 minutes, not its a brock I was exciting to get a new router as my previous router had been on the fritz. I followed the directions during setup and it worked fine. However, it suggested that I download the latest firm, which I did. Once I did that the thing never worked again. I've tried of combination of resets, unplugs, and power on/off I can think of...nothing, just a flashing yellow light and no internet...what a piece... December 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Improvement Before this Router I had a Cisco/Linksys E2500. Logging into the E2500 navigation was so slow and the E2500 is so slow in wireless performance. Also I wanted to upgrade my wired network to gigabit. I am one of those people that live by the wire. I only use wireless when necessary. Anyway, I have a Sony Blu-ray player in my exercise room which has wired and wireless, I used the wired connection. With my Linksys Netflix would fail to connect. With the D-Link Netflix is flawless. When I had my house built I had Cat5E wire ran to all my rooms (even the kitchen) and terminated with Ethernet jacks. I have an android phone, my wife an iPhone 5, we have multiple laptops, numerous desktop computers, an iPad, a Kindle Fire, 3 Tivos, numerous Blu-Ray players and numerous gigabit switches (with Verizon FIOS 75mbps Internet) And all these devices work will together. Rated 3 out of 5 by So SO To make a long story short we purchased this a year ago and after our laptops didn't connect to wireless we then decided to stick with our former router, which unfortunately "died" this week. So we hooked up the DIR-850L and our wireless devices (phone, tablet) picked it up but our lap tops still did not. We lost our password so followed the instructions on the Dlink site to reset to default factory settings. However, when we logged into the router we kept getting a login failed message (user=admin, password=blank). Although our wireless devices picked up the wireless it dropped the connection frequently over the past few days. So rather than get the Geek Squad or other person in here to assist we may just get a different router. As a note, we've tried to reset to factory default on three different days and a few times each time, yet we kept getting a login failed when we attempted this. It should be pretty straight forward but it's not. September 5, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really nice router I've had this router since December 2013. It does everything that Dlink said and does it well. I use it for everyday stuff like email and web surfing plus streaming Netflix to my Google Chromecast. It does a great job with the Chromecast. Netflix plays well with no stuttering or buffering. This is a product that is well worth the money. February 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Poor Connection and reliability While using bthe Xbox the router keeps dropping the signal. Thw signal strength is very week. February 24, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Internal antenna... are you serious? I used to have a DIR-825 which was great, but failed. Got a warranty replacement/upgrade to the DIR-850L. The software is great, lots of simple and advanced functionality. Speeds are good and the range is impressive too... but an INTERNAL ANTENNA??What are you thinking D-Link?That is the only, although a SERIOUS drawback of their new product line. No external antennas. There is not even the option of screwing in an external antenna. That mean no single or range boosting in either Omni or Directional. The circular design is a bit silly too. Its tiny but making a nice tiny rectangle would have been far better than a Apple-style mini-trashcan. The plastic feels a little cheap too.But it is a good product - really, it is... just that internal antenna... January 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best router I've owned I needed a new router to keep up with the demands of my home network. When I started using Netflix my old router could not keep up, I have a lot more devices connecting to my network now also and this router does the job no problems. December 14, 2013
