Rated 4 out of 5 by from Plain and simple, Cisco efficiency and manageability, and well suited at the Cisco SMB point on the price/power curve. Happy overall, but it's just a switch, really.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lacks SNMPRMON has no ability to import into CactiBeyond these, the switches have been stable, they offer the power needed to our phones and access points.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This device is well priced, but is missing SNMP. It seems to be a re-branded LinkSys product. It should function fine for a small office that doesn't need to monitor the device.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid switch My first thought was that there's no CLI but it's a GUI so I had to watch a few youtube videos on how to navigate the GUI. That's why I gave it a 3/5 for ease of use, because I was initially thinking that with a GUI it would be simple to set. I was wrong, and coming from a guy with both CCNA and CCNP certifications it's a little embarrassing. I would have preferred a CLI option for these but on to the switch its self. It's solid for what it does, using simple VLAN's and STP it work's fine. Though it doesn't have any VTP features so you'll have to manually configure the VLAN settings as opposed to having it populate. But it's web access interface is both a blessing and a curse. You have to be on the same subnet as the switch to configure it via the web interface . So either you're going to be directly plugged into it and still have to change your TCP/IP settings to the switches IP's subnet or be on it via anywhere in the network. So that can prove tricky when you're on a different VLAN with a different subnet. So that and with lack of VTP to populate your VLAN's this switch will demand a bit of work. But if you're on the same subnet then no problem for configuring the VLAN's. Now as for STP one thing that I found nice was that portfast and rapid STP were turned on by default. It has a fairly easy STP setup tab where you can assign the value to the switch for your networks architecture and be on your way. Other features that this switch has but I haven't used are Multicasting and QOS. I haven't used them in this instance so I can't comment on their features. Aside from that all interfaces are 1gig speed and you have 2 fiber card slots that make this a decent switch for a small office environment.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I had one of these. Hated it. Dropped ports, wouldn't keep correct time, no SNMP, etc. +100 to Procurve switches.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I got two of these to replace an old 80 port switch. I like the capacity that these switches have and most things seem to work well. I find that they require an occasional reboot. The most frustrating part is that they are not SNMP capable. I want to monitor them like my ProCurves, but I can't.I recommend ProCurve.
