Rated 1 out of 5 by from The ASA does not live up to reasonable business expectations and is probably the worse purchase of my professional career. Some examples:--Captive Portal for Non Company owned devices is broken. (Think education, Hospitality, etc). It cannot present a traditional captive portal (like starbucks) without a SSL warning. (CSCuz37162)--Our Content filtering randomly disables itself, the box for content filtering is literally unchecked. I am the only one with access to the device so I know this is a bug. TAC is unsure what to do, as usual recommends random hotfix.New Bug Crashes the device after 213 days of uptime. http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/field-notices/642/fn64291.html--Our Identity Filtering Randomly stopped working. 4 Weeks later TAC is insure what to do. Everything seems fine in all the logs, it's simply not recognizing AD Logins.--Cannot filter by TIME. Our cheap Barracuda did this almost a decade ago. (Allow Netflix after 4PM).I could write an entire blog around this thing. It's certainly not an Enterprise product. Our organization is small enough that our Rep doesn't care. Oh! And we were lucky enough to have our Rep transfer out mid implementation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This router is absolutely bristling with features. You'll need a lot of in-depth knowledge of cisco ASA to get the full use out of if though, even connecting and configuring it initially is an arcane dance with a serial lead...Don't let this detract you, as it's a rock-stable reliable and time-tested platform, still supported after over ten years. If it wasn't good, would there still be so many of them in production use?Buy it and love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Cisco ASA 5505 is a great starter Firewall that allows you to manage your SMB for less expensive than the 5510 or up. It has plenty of features and with the ASDM wizards, it makes it easy it setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to install 1 in our Singapore back office for an MPLS connection. With the included ASDM interface you are able to set most of your rules and NAT settings. Device is running still after many years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Never had any issues with our cisco 5505. It's been a fantastic product for years at our co location.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cisco is one of the best out there for firewalls. The bad thing for me is that there is so much to these firewalls I still barely know what I am doing with them. It was amazing when we had our ASA 5505. If you are familiar with Cisco I would say ASA's are what you should go with.
