JetCore ASIC chipset delivers industry leading switching and routing features along with bandwidth management, accounting, policy-based routing and network management capabilities.
Foundry's JetCore ASIC chipset features advanced switching and routing functionality including integrated support for IP and IPX, Policy-Based Routing (PBR), multicast, and the ability to configure dynamic VLANs based on port, protocol or IP-subnet. Integrated granular bandwidth management features include the ability to apply bandwidth policies at wirespeed based on port, port plus priority, or Layer 4 session flows identified by source or destination IP address, source or destination TCP/UDP port numbers and protocol type. Foundry's JetCore ASICs' integrated bandwidth-provisioning functionalities, including Committed Access Rate (CAR)-like bandwidth control features, support wire-speed rate limiting at any frame size. Hewlett Packard Company's Extended RMON (XRMON) technology is integrated into Foundry's JetCore ASIC chipset to provide extensive network monitoring, accounting and statistics capabilities while providing wire-speed switching and routing. Building on the functionality, performance and scalability advances of second generation ASICs, Foundry products powered by third generation JetCore ASICs will deliver unparalleled port density, switching and routing capabilities and price/performance.
The JetCore ASIC chipset family consists of different ASICs that provide various combinations of 10/100 or Gigabit Ethernet ports. Built on 0.18 micron technology, Foundry's JetCore ASICs pack performance, functionality, and density into a compact design that provides a high performance ASIC building block for Foundry's next-generation products.
