1 year license renewal for the Barracuda Web Filter 310 Vx - virtual appliance. An integrated content filtering, application blocking and malware protection, the Barracuda Web Filter 310 Vx is supported on most popular virtual hypervisors like VMware ESX and VMware ESXi. It enforces Internet usage policies by blocking access to Web sites and Internet applications that are not related to business, and it easily and completely eliminates spyware and other forms of malware from your organization. The Barracuda Web Filter integrates with popular LDAP directory servers such as Microsoft Active Directory, for both authentication and group membership information. The entire virtual appliance, including hardware configuration, operating system and application modules are encapsulated for easy deployment. Once the virtual appliance is installed, configuration and administration is through the same intuitive Web based user interface as that on the appliance.

Product Reviews
Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 32reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by I worked for a local county's IT department prior to this job and we used this there. It was great, a lot of options for filtering, we used an option where people had to log in every 24 hours as it served as a reminder that "you're going out onto the internet, remember the agreements you have signed". It never failed us. May 5, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Unit is working great, and helping keep the network safe. The only issue we had was the unit initially not being configured right to work in a Xenapp environment. Once I set it up in a hybrid authentication mode, it has been smooth sailing. Their tech support was very helpful with any questions I had! December 2, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Would not recommend Barracuda web filters. To many sites are uncategorized, constantly having to maintain white list. Can't allow uncategorized sites because anonymous proxies are often uncategorized in Barracuda web filter but identified by OpenDNS. Looking at moving to OpenDNS Umbrella. June 22, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by In my opinion, this is the easiest solution to deploy. I've installed three of these units for a couple of clients and they just work. Very little configuration needed and you can literally just drop this into your network between your firewall and ISP equipment. Two cables, that's it. September 20, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by We have had this for 3 years. With one lab of 30 computers and 20 teachers classroom (elementary who really never use it except email) it worked fine. When we added 30 chromebooks and 60 ipad mini's and a great Ruckus wireless system it couldn't handle the additional computers setup with more than one subnet of 255. We needed three as we ran out of ips in the subnet 255.255.255.0. We expanded to 3 (192.168.1, 192.168.2, 192.168.3 ) and it just got very confused. Nothing in docs gave us any reason why it should work and no help online. So on our 150 mbps download speed, we have dropped to 2-3 mbps although upload speed is still fine at 70 mbps. So the Barracuda 310 is really either a trade in or replace at this point.John Fox September 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by We have this in place now. Works well. I would give it 5 stars but the interface is too freaking slow. It works great though. September 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by We have been using the Barracuda Web Filter now for about a year and lately it has become more and more a problem for us. I think most Administrators would agree that if you Whitelist or Blacklist a site you would want that to take precedence over everything else. In actuality, it is one of the lowest priorities in the web filter. Content filters and exceptions are higher. Therefore, like for our company, our corporate websites were whitelisted under URL Patterns and Domains and neither would allow traffic to pass because a web category for commerce was in the exception list so it blocked it. Worse, the troubleshooting section showed it would pass. Can't say that I would recommend Firmware Version 8.0.0.003 at this time. Perhaps if they fix it. September 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Barracuda Web Filter 310 is a good addition to secure network perimeter to keep malware out of network. It is easy to use and affordable for businesses of all sizes. March 25, 2014
