Keys have a nice feel and are very responsive, layout is comfortable. I like that you can remove the keyboard because I can put my tablet on a stand or a couple of books to elevate the screen and still have the keyboard on the desktop. However, I do wish you had the option of keeping it attached and folding it back when you are not typing and want to use your tablet as a tablet for reading or playing games. It pops off when you fold it back and you just have to set it aside. Another plus is the sturdy stand on the back cover that allows you to adjust your screen to any viewing angle. Overall works very well for my needs.

The case does add a bit of bulk, however its a protective case, stand, and keyboard. The keyboard is backlit, however its just around the keys, the actual letters on the keys are not illuminated.

I got the shipping notification and it was fine until my product got to a destination and sat there for 5 days before resuming shipping only to arrive 3 days later. For this reason I gave it 3 stars only. Won't be buying anything else ever from Zagg unless they fix their shipping issues.

It’s a great keyboard, and I would give it five stars if not for one inconvenience. My previous Bluetooth keyboard allowed me to place calls to my iPhone from the iPad. When I connected the ZAGG keyboard, however, that function was no longer available and I have to manually dial numbers from my phone. Keep in mind the two pieces come apart pretty easily (they don't fold backward on each other and stay together). So useful and I'm happy I can protect my ipad at the same time as having an easy to use keyboard .

After all the good reviews and tests I was really looking forward to receiving and using the Slim Book Go (9.7“) but using it for the first time was absolutly dissapointing. The operability is poor. The keys don‘t respond in the same was, some respond rarely, or not at all, when writing with 10-fingers. Therefore, texts are full of typos. Not only that the case has got an extremly acric plastic smell, what cannot be Health at all and didn‘t improve after more than three days out of it‘s Container, but also the relatively unflexibel plastic-cover over the on/off switch and the volume regulation make quick, easy and smooth handling and changes with one finger, even one hand impossible. Consequently, using the iPad with the case for listening tasks in school is impossible. Hence I decided to return the case and there the next frustration awaited me. Zage promises a 30 day easy return and redundant, but the expansive shipping the customers have to pay themselves. This is extremly uncommon for Germany and I made the decision to order from the company itself instead of amazon, because it’s more ethical and the manufacturer receives more of the profit. To me it is unbearable that customers have to pay the extremly high shipping costs. This has nothing to do with customer service and canvassing. I cannot recommend the product and the company.

It is easy to remove for using the iPad in other positions. The keyboard does not fold flat under the iPad. The design for the physical connection seems to be foolproof and should last. I do wonder a bit about how long the friction stand will last. Time will tell and I have confidence that Zagg will back the product. The keyboard has many features; however I find the instruction sheet to be lacking in explaining them. So far, googling and talking to others helps. Backlit keys are very useful in low light.

It even has a slot for the Apple Pencil, which seems to match with my 9.7 iPad Pro. This was the first model that apple released, with the Apple Pencil. The camera hole does not match up with my iPad’s camera and the case is not properly built to match with the four speakers. Truly disappointed since returns are paid for, by customers, and don’t forget that the customer is also responsible, if it gets lost in shipping. There are no intentions to buy directly from Zagg again, if this return and exchange policy does not change.

The keyboard is detachable but works via Bluetooth so it can be used ergonomically- screen at eye level and keyboard at lower level. I was fearful that kick stand would be flimsy but very sturdy and extremely handy for playing/taking videos and during workout sessions. Can be tilted to various angle. Delivery was extremely prompt.

It is lighter and more compact, and the keyboard is fully functional. The only drawback is that the the attachment to the case is flimsy and detaches too easily.

Also I can no longer use my angled L shape power cord as the frame is too wide at that point with too small a cutout. So it’s no longer as sleek and old straight in power cord pulls out easily. May have to do some modifications and make cutout bigger and maybe remove the button areas.

I am doing a warranty exchange but a product should last for at least a few month with very very moderate use. I read the reviews and thought, “what are the odds the one I get breaks?” Turns out to be very high. I may update this when I use the new one.

The case is still brand new and has not been used. I am very interested in being able to return this case, and purchase another ZAGG case that allows my camera and flash to still be useable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only keyboard folio to fit 9.7 Ipad I needed a keyboard folio for my iPad 9.7. The slim book pro was the only one that would fit. I didn’t want the heavier ones. The cord that came with it for charging the keyboard does not fit the keyboard receptacle. It appears that the receptacle is damaged. Disappointing. So far I cannot connect the keyboard to operate with the iPad.

I bought my first one around eight months ago, and have really enjoyed using it. Then, about a month ago, I noticed the kickstand was not as tight, and recently one of the plastic rotation pieces snapped. Had I bought this at full price, I wouldn't have ordered another, but at 20-something, it's hard to be upset. Luckily, I'll be able to recycle the broken one. All in all, a really good product (love the holder for the 1st gen pencil), just not as durable as expected. Happy with the keyboard, love the kickstand feature when it's working. Careful user, I take good care of my technology. I use this with the first gen iPad Pro for drawing, reading, surfing, email. Having the pencil holder is very convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Product until premature failure I switched to Zagg based upon great satisfaction since my 2013 Mini-iPad keyboard/case. When I advanced to iPad Pro 9,7”, I purchased an Apple keyboard - it failed to connect within one year. The warranty replacement failed within one year. Then I bought Slim Book Go. It failed at about 8 months. I purchased a Messenger Folio as a backup ($20). The Warranty Slim Book Go failed also at about 8 months and that was the end. However, due to the age now of my iPad, Zagg was selling the appropriate Slim Book Go for $24.95. I bought 2. So far, the keyboards are bullet-proof and have never failed before the stand. I know have a collection of bluetooth keyboards that work fine. Lesson learned - Warranty is only good for one year after original purchase. Problem with Slim Book Go - stand spring fails at about 8 months. Messenger Folio has a mechanical stand that cannot fail. However the Messenger Folio does not have a backlit keyboard. The Bluetooth connection is superior and more reliable than Apple keyboard. Zagg has great case/keyboards, just realize that they do not last long.

I’d tried one alternative sourced from the internet but it was bulky, did not physically attach and Bluetooth connectivity was hit and miss. The I found this on another search of the net and it is great; attaches firmly, good connectivity, not bulky and provides a great all round hard protection. Couldn’t be happier. Would have been happy at full price but the discounted price provides incredible value for money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keyboard case for my 9.7 inch iPad (2018) Too many great features to list, including the detachability of the keyboard from the case and very responsive keys. Zagg keyboards have consistently top notch (I owned Ultra Slim Book Case for iPad mini before). The reasons for the four star rating is three-fold: I don’t care for the rubberized keyboard base (not the keys themselves)—it’s a dust and dirt magnet, and rubber texture deteriorates over time. Also, as common to most keyboard cases, it’s not meant to stand in portrait orientation when detached from the keyboard. This one, however, can stand in portrait, albeit almost vertical (see the accompanying photos). If the support plate on the back was shaped a bit trapezoidal, it could stand in portrait at a more comfortable angle. Zagg missed a good chance to make the case even more versatile with this little engineering tweak. Moreover, the backlit keys are not bright enough in my opinion even at the maximum brightness. the leakage from the corners of each key is brighter than the letter on the key.

The price was about 1/4th of what I was seeing everywhere else, too. If you're considering this iPad cover/keyboard combo, do yourself a favor and just buy it!

This screen holder doesn’t rotate 90degrees, but it detaches easily from the keyboard and that’s good enough. Keys feel normal and the lights are helpful. If I had a complaint it would be that the keys are a bit too sensitive. All in all, especially for the price and service, a good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not functioning keyboard I have a Zagg rugged book which I love, but the keyboard hinge started to be too loose and a couple of keys had to press a couple of times to get to register. I went to the slim book go to have a proper keyboard however it is terrible worse then the zagg rugged book. There are multiple keys I have to press over 10 times just to get it to register. I went back to my old rugged book because it has less issues than a brand new slim book go. Very disappointed in this product.

Besides that there was a bit of damage by the time the product had arrived, a bit of the coating on the keyboard was torn so I had to use some hot glue to prevent any further problems

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ridiculous I decided that the slim book pro wasn’t for me because it wasn’t the correct fit for my iPad. There were no speaker holes for sound to come out which made the sound muffled when I wanted to watch a video. I think that’s because I got the wrong model but I’m almost positive I got the right model. So I proceeded to call Zagg and return it and they told me I am responsible for shipping. I went to the post office and paid $15 for shipping. This is ridiculous considering how much people buy stuff from Zagg. It almost wasn’t worth returning it because it was $25. I am very frustrated with zagg and in the future I’m going to use Amazon because shipping is always free for returns. Very disappointed.

Then ordered another 4 keyboards MESSENGER FOLIOS directly from Zagg. All of us are very happy with the quality of the keyboards. They work like laptop keyboards. Great value and no shipping charges. I was able to talk to CS at Zagg and get answers to my concerns before placing orders. I had researched for keyboards on Google before placing orders. Unknown sellers were offering pink blue etc keyboards from China and within USA at much higher prices and questionable quality because there is no CS and the purchase process is sterile and short-term. Buying from Zagg directly is even better than buying at a retail outlet like Best Buy because you can opt for an older model keyboard that does the same job, at a great price.

The only drawback is that is is much heavier than I thought. It is heavier than the iPad itself, so it more than doubled the weight when I put the iPad in the case, which I wasn’t expecting.

Also, when the keyboard is removed the iPad is heavy because of the case. My previous slim book made my iPad feel more like a mini laptop. That said, it was only $30 so I’ll deal with it.

Unfortunately that cannot be said for my experience of typing on the keyboard - it frequently misses letters out or will put several, so it is impossible to touch-type and be anywhere close to accurate. I have had to correct many of the words typed for this message, for example, so a somewhat disappointing purchase..

The backside of the keyboard and the topside of the section holding the device are not finished the same. The bottom has a rough surface so that it does not slide off my lap. The topside has a smooth surface so when I close the unit and set it aside, items such as my glasses or pen or phone set on top of the unit slide right off!! Also, the keyboard lights are not very bright, difficult to see. Overall the unit is well worth the cost. A very compact keyboard case for the 9.7” iPad. Glad I made this Zagg purchase!

The stand behind the screen is Good because you can adjust the angles. but the hinge recently cracked already. The keyboard is great except the fact that there is any mouse on it. That would have been excellent. The entire thing keeps the promises of being thin but a bit heavy with the ipad in.

Now, the 2nd one, the Apple Pencil holder is too tight, it's a dimensioning issue on production, after attach I can not remove the styles pencil using fingers. It's a great product but it's no cheap to have these Ki d of issues, like design problems and quality assurance in production. Please ZAGG, improve it.

I have had this case for less than two weeks and have never dropped or used in not the way it was intended. And the bracket to hold it on broke from just opening it. I am disappointed cause I do really like the case. The pencil holder, the detachable keyboard. The idea of the kickstand is great, but broke way to quick.

The big problem is that it constantly becomes disconnected from my iPad and it is a real pain to reconnect it. I wanted it for travel but it is so unreliable I am sending it back . I wish the return process was easier and less expensive.

The big gripe I have is the instructions were for a different model. It kept telling me to hit the Bluetooth key of which I had 2 and didn't know how to make it go into pairing. The online instructions were the same. Please fix because I still don't know what magic combination of hitting the power and bluetooth buttons made it show up on my ipad. Also no included charger these turn it from a 5 to a 4 but still a great product

As a long time Rugged Book user I was disappointed with the Slim Book Go for two reasons: 1. The Bluetooth keyboard takes longer to activate each time I open the Slim Book. 2. The textured cover is much harder to keep clean.

The case was way too big and bulky and the keyboard cover has to be fully detached because if you fold it back it will just detach itself. The keyboard isn't that useful either, because the keys are just way too mushy. I can actually get used to the cramped feeling of the keyboard (but that's something you should also be aware of). The mushiness makes it incredibly hard to actually type though and I find myself making frequent typos, more than 3 or 4 per sentence. If you're looking for a usable case or usable bluetooth keyboard, unfortunately this device is neither.

I had another Zagg keyboard that just attached magnetically and did not have to be charged. I loved it, but the key to turn it on stopped working. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good substitute for original keypad Needed new keyboard for IPAD Pro. Apple discontinued so went with second choice. Keypad is good. Only negative is it's a little heavier than original, and you have to charge it separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Problem with magnets not holding I like the Slim Book Go but have problems with the top (the iPad) separating from the key board as the magnets don’t appear to be strong enough. I believe I’ve fastened it correctly each time yet am willing to accept perhaps I’ve made a mistake. My experience with Zagg products in the past leads me to believe their quality is better than this. Would I buy it again? Only if I knew the magnets were stronger, or I was in error and there was a better way of assembling the two pieces.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I like this one I’ve tried many other iPad cases but this one is the best so far. I like how the keyboard is attached magnetically and is easy to remove. I like the firm stand. Mostly I like the keys are white and easy to see. With a nes diagnosis of macular degeneration, I cannot see the keyboards that are dark and backlit. It just doesn’t work for me. This keyboard does.
