The cord was fine it just wasn’t what I needed. After chatting with a rep online he said this would work for a second monitor. The problem was the monitor did not have a DP input. I needed a DP to HDMI.

I ordered this cable assuming that the monitor did not come with one. The monitor did come with one however that one did not work. This cable does feel like it is of higher quality and I enjoy using my screen at 165hz.

I requested the part number for a DP 1.4 Dp to Dp cable. I made sure they understood what I wanted. The sales associate knew what I wanted. They sent me a cable for DP 1.2, which hinders the purpose of a DP 1.4. DP 1.2 came out in 2010.
Don't trust sales associates. They don't know what they are doing, or they lie to you to get the sale.
