Good projector, misleading specs for gaming
Next to a window that gets full sun during the summer, this projector is plenty bright. With standard landlord special blinds on a sunny day most content other than dark movies or horror games works really well.
My issue is the marketing led me to believe this was a 120hz 1080p projector; this is technically true, but 1280x720 is the highest resolution that 120hz refresh rate is available and 1080p only goes up to 60hz. I was able to push it to 1360x768@120 on my pc (and 1080p@80hz), and I do think this is a decent gaming projector for pc gaming (the price is unbeatable for a high refresh rate projector with good brightness) but while modern game consoles like Switch 2 and PS5 can output 120hz and 720p they can't do both at the same time meaning neither can drive this projector at its full refresh rate.
It would be really nice if the projector could *accept* 1080p@120hz and downscale it to 720p in the same way some 1080p projectors accept a 4k signal and display it at half resolution, since getting it to work as a consumer requires chaining an EDID emulator into a downscaler (at which point you're spending so much on processing that there's no reason to buy a $600 projector anymore). If this was usable as a cheap high refresh rate projector for modern game consoles it would be completely alone in that niche.

Not recommended for ceiling mount
I bought this PA503HD projector. When I tried to install it, I realized about the following issues related to hanging it upside-down from ceiling:
- Projector has just 3 holes, not 4, ok, acceptable so far.
- The 3 holes are close to each other, dissimilar distances are 4. 5"and 5. 5", which makes a small triangle with sides of different length.
- The living room of the apartment whee I live, has a regular height, so I needed a maximum of 6" low-profile ceiling mount. Viewsonic does not sell low-profile ceiling mounts. Viewsonic sell jsut a 18"+ long ceiling mount.
- The so called "universal" ceiling mounts I can get on online market (like Amazon), describe a minimum distance between holes of 6 ". So they do not fit in this small triangle.
- The 3-hole-triangle center is not geometrically centered, neither weight centered. So the projector is being pulled out of balanced,
Long story shot, all these aspects does not make sense, it is not logical the position of these 3 holes.
It is like haveing a brand-new car with no wheels.
Not buying a viewsonic product ever more.
