The U444-06N-HGU-C USB 3.1 Gen 1 USB-C to HDMI DisplayPort Alternate Mode External Video Adapter supports USB DisplayPort Alternate Mode for displaying audio/video signals on an HDMI monitor, television or projector via your computer, laptop or tablet's USB-C port. It's an ideal tool for multitasking, editing documents, giving presentations at trade shows and conferences, or watching movies and playing video games.
No software, drivers or external power supply is needed. Connect the adapter's USB-C male plug to the USB-C port on your device. Then, connect the adapter's female HDMI port to a monitor using an HDMI cable (such as Tripp Lite's P568-Series) to enjoy full HDMI video and audio. The U444-06N-HGU-C supports high-definition video resolutions up to 1920 x 1080 (1080p) at 60 Hz.
The U444-06N-HGU-C includes an RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port. Connect to a network with a UTP cable, such as Tripp Lite's N201-Series Cat6 cables, and enjoy true 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet speeds.
The USB 3.1 hub port connects USB-A peripherals, such as a thumb drive or printer. It's backward compatible with previous USB generations, and supports USB 3.1 Gen 1 data transfer rates up to 5 Gbps.
The USB-C charging port supports power input up to 20V 3A (60W). It powers the device that the U444-06N-HGU-C is plugged into, as well as a peripheral plugged into its USB-A port, by connecting the charging port to a USB-C wall charger.

Worked great at first plugin
I needed a basic connector from my Mac to my external monitor, nothing big or elaborate I don't need a "hub". This HDMI adapter meets my need. Tiny footprint, no external power source needed.

This works well! My only complaint is that last time I used it to stream from my Laptop to my TV via hdmi it seemed to flicker off at the slightest movement, but I'm not sure if this adapter or the HDMI cable or my computer or any of the 3 connections between those and the TV were at fault so ????

Adding Tripp-Lite to my short list of trusted makers
This adapter works nicely with my 2019 MacBook Pro. Once was unable to recognize a thumb drive, but issue has not repeated. Light, well-made, just what's needed for Apple's one-port-fits-all laptops. Note this is power-only in its USB-C jack, not a USB-C hub. Presumably thats cheaper. If you need USB-C daisy-chaining, there are Tripp-Lite models for that.

I purchased this item for my Dell 2 in 1 but have used it for my Samsung Galaxy as well. I have been able to connect my phone to my television and transfer files back and forth. I would definitely recommend this product. No issues at all.

Bought this product as I switched to new Mac and immediately found that this is one of the best purchases I did. I can use it to view movies on my TV through HDMI cable. Need it most for my office work wherein I would need to use the projector for my meetings.
