Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great unit !!!!!!!!!It just sits in our rack and does what it is supposed to.No false alarms. Power output checked w/ Fluke DVM is good. Shuts down equipment when we lose power. Have done nothing to it in 3 yrs. 24/7 use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, but with a few quirksMost importantly, this UPS gave me four years of flawless uninterrupted power, which in my experience, is pretty good. All past ones have given up sooner than that and/or stopped holding any significant charge. This UPS never kept my computer running all that long, but it always at least gave me time to finish, save, and properly shutdown, which is what matters most. However, when I say it gave me four years, I mean it no longer works; it finally failed its first and last time after almost exactly four years of solid service. And when it did die, it did it mid-session, and not during a power outage, so it does have exactly one failure. I don't expect a UPS to last forever, but simply not supplying power in the first place would have been much better. Avoiding unexpected power loss is the whole point.Otherwise it has great features and my only complaint was the loud beep it makes when the power goes out, regardless of whether the PC it's connected to is on. It totally makes sense to warn the user of power loss when the PC is on, not so much when nothing is on in the first place. And if you have your PC in your bedroom like I do, it makes nighttime power outages pretty annoying.Still, problems aside, I'll likely get another, it remains the best UPS I've bought so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Affordable high grade UPS that is completely silent! This unit is protecting a small HP Server with ease. 12gb Ram, single CPU dual Nic, 4x spindle HDDs. I love the fact it has no fan and is designed to cool the unit using only the built in heatsink and you can use all 8 outlets for UPS compared to others that are 4 and 4. My one dislike is the requirement to run java on the host. If you can get over that small detail, then why don't you have one yet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from good unit but smellsOur IT manager charged the system in his office so I received it about a week after purchase. It has now been in my office for a week and it still gives off a fairly strong odor. Reviews on other websites for similar TRIPP products seem to indicate it may take up to a month to "out-gas". Other than this, the unit seems to work well. Not all outlets are usable if you have several of the large plugs typical of external drives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Resolved a UPS problem when operating on our Generac! With decades of utility power interruptions we have used an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to protect some sensitive electronic equipment; a TV, a computer and an Internet modem. We finally got a Generac to provide power to keep everything working, as it was obvious that the frequent loss of power situation had not changed a bit in decades. However, once our Central Air-conditioning was wired in, it became obvious that our 'old' UPS was not tolerating what appeared to be a form of feedback from the AC compressor. The old GPS began a constant beeping and was no longer charging the internal battery. Our Generac contractor suggested that there were UPS systems that are made to tolerate the compressor anomaly in a generator power system. Ten minutes or so on-line led me to the Tripp-Lite site and specific mention of generator tolerance was my reason for purchasing the 1200VA SmartPro Line-Interactive UPS. After replacing the old UPS we made a twenty-minute power interruption test, and it was instantly clear that our UPS problem had been resolved, and I am pleased to say it was far less expensive and simpler than expected.
