A month ago we had a lot of lightning and a 3 second power outage. I had one Trip-o-lite surge protector on the living room satellite tv only and it saved the equipment from the surge . The bedroom satellite box had none and was destroyed. We had satellite insurance and they replaced unit. I ordered additional surge protectors and put on all outlets in the house that had electronics connected including cell phone chargers, computers, TV's, radio's etc and have weathered two storms since. This is a small investment for peace of mind and maybe saving a a major repair bill.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice protective specs with one suggestion... I use this for my TV, DVR and Xbox. I assume it's working so I cannot say much about the electronics. What I can say is that it feels loose in the outlet. If I fill all the SWIVEL6 outlets, it might fall out of the wall socket. To that end, why not make it use both wall sockets and/or allow for it to replace the cover plate (with a screw for insuring it stays put)?

We have an electric recliner and mini fridge plugged into it, and there's still a ton of room left for additional plugs. Also, after we were effected by the tornados in TN, it protected our stuff against the power surges that happened multiple times! Love it!

Of course I also use it at home where I want/need to save space behind an appliance, and as a superior and adaptible powerstrip. AND, it's made by Tripp Lite, the company with THE best reputation in surge protection power strips. I've had surges ruin some of my equipment, and since storms are getting worse and more frequent, it won't be a matter of IF I get hit again, but WHEN. So, surge protection is necessary nowadays. There is one odd (though miner) thing about it - the 3 outlet prongs on the back are on the "bottom" rather than the top of the device. But, if most of the cords connected to it are positioned sidways to the face of the unit rather than in front of it, as is how I use it, then my hypothethical concern is less likely.

It supports all of the equipment that we needed and it's great that the plugs can be turned to the side so that we can push the fireplace tight against the wall. The other is for the living room TV. Love the swivel feature, to be able to swivel the plugins and still sit flush on the wall. It would be a great idea for home owners (DYI's) to have a screw, so it could be firmly attached to the wall socket, As plugging and unplugging, something requires two hands, or you could unplug the entire surge protector from the wall.

You can't really tell until your building gets struck by lightening etc. I am a pastor and have one at our home with my CPAP plugged into it and a humidifier. I liked the one I have at home well enough that I bought one for the church for its large screen TV and Blue Ray player.

There are several products that are similar with 3 outlets on each side but the competitors either a) they don't swivel or b) the plugs are horizontal which in my opinion defeats the purpose when you might have for example router block style ac adapters that would stick out away from the wall and take up space you're trying to gain & keep furniture closer to the wall by purchasing a similar product. Look up Belkin's pivot plug wall products and you'll see what I mean. Great price, black which looks nice along white walls and gets the job done. Great product!

One: a long screw with two grounded plugs and a physical interface to replace original outlet cover and present a more finished look securely mounted to wall. Two: an interface that allows installation to a switched receptacle. Could be combined with improvement one. Otherwise a solid product from a proven mfgr Tripp Lite

I like the unit but it should have a center screw to hold in place to the outlet. if your not removing the plugs often its ok. What I like is you can insert the plug sideways and not into the room, desk, counter. it does save space... if I could change the design, I'd put a screw in the center to go into the wall outlet for more support.

This is by far hands down the best, most versatile and cost justifiable surge protector I have ever purchased in over 50 years of purchasing electronic equipment. Living in the country we frequently experience electrical quick outages that often cause sensitive electronic equipment to lose their internal settings even when they contain batteries designed to retain the settings. Since I connected some electronics to the Tripp-Lite Protect It Surge Protector I don't have to run around updating electronic settings any longer. I love not having to see all the plugs and cords under my desk and it keeps them out of the cats sight. Definitely will be buying more.

I had an occasion where a previous Tripp-LIte surge suppressor took a hit and protected the equipment attached to it. I have every reason to believe that this product will have the same results.

I trust the Tripp-Lite name, this unit plugs directly into the socket for a neater appearance, and it was an excellent value. An added bonus is the swivel function on the two banks. I plan on purchasing additional units to eliminate excess cords under my other computers.

This is pretty clear in the picture, but somehow I missed it. No worries, it still works well for my needs. I like that it can plug in up against the wall instead of having a cord that gets in the way. If you do this, you have to plug it into the bottom one because there is a plastic prong that fits into the top plugin. It can also be plugged into an extension cord if you need extra length.

I can plug in things behind a dresser without having it stick 8 feet away from the wall as to not crush the plug or back of furniture. Definitely worth the money. Love that is a surge protector as well.

I bought it because it fits behind furniture where all my outlets seem to be, and I bought tripp-lite after reading reviews. One little thing I find (and that was mentioned in a few reviews) is the lack of a way to firmly afix it in the outlet at the top. Otherwise the shebang might come out. I intend to use a bit of velcro to correct this. Thanks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great! Could use USB ports I have this plugged into the outlet near my work desk to power my laptop, copier, shredder, lamp, modem, and cell phone charger. I wish it had some USB ports to free up outlet space, but it works great regardless. The swivel column is really convenient as I can swivel it out to easily access those outlets and then swivel it back to keep the plugs all flush and flat. Having the outlets run along each side really helps to make all the wires look neater and organized.

It provides protection to your electronic equipment while allowing room for electrical components to be plugged in and not interfere with the space allowed. I highly recommend it.

Most recent device was universal in features like movable plug in (side by side) for my TV and VCR in bedroom. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Design is flawed unless placing behind furniture The product is satisfactory, but if it is not placed behind something that is snugged up against it, it tends to easily fall out of the outlet. Has been slightly annoying. I do like that the plugs swivel, but think that since it's taking up 2 available outlet plugs anyway, it might as well use both of them, both for securing the unit and for utilizing 2 power sources (although they'd most likely both be on the same fuse).

Contractor place a double three prong plug outlet which would accommodate just two power plugs. Plug an play the Swivel 6 and had each string orientated so the plugs ran "flat" against wall. Sits securely against the wall. I ordered 3 of these, one for the TV wall mount, son's room and my computer and peripheals.

These multi-outlet suppressors are great and I can easily adjust the angle so that cords are separated from each other. I purchased four of these at one time and I am very satisfied on the functionality, appearance and durable construction. I would recommend these to anyone who needs a multi-outlet suppressor.

It also allows me to redirect the plug so that the cord does not intrude on a seating area. For me the surge protection is also a bonus. Also, this is one of the few such devices in a dark color that blends in with my decor.

The reason I only gave it four stars is I don't know if it will work in a power surge. Until a building gets struck by lightening etc. there is no way for me to know how well these surge protectors work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Surge Protector for Small Spaces I needed a surge protector to locate behind a cabinet that stays fairly flush with the wall to protect a TV, computer, and streaming device. This surge protector with its rotatable outlets fit the bill exactly. It has a very slim profile (narrower than the plugs themselves, in fact!) and hugs to outlet and wall fairly closely. With the rotatable plugs, I was able to plug the equipment in, including those with large transformer plugs with ease. Having the rotating plugs on both sides of this surge protector was also great for cable management purposes as it allowed me to "direct" cords to either side of the cabinet and to avoid entanglements. Well designed, well made, and easy to install and use make this a great device for low load-bearing installations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tripp-LIte Protection for Refrigerator Against Power Spikes Bought this unit to protect our refrigerator from power spikes after having the compressor on our previous refrigerator get ruined by one of those power spikes. I picked this particular unit because it has outlets facing the side which was important for our situation as there was not room enough behind the refrigerator to have the plug sticking straight out. I also like the swivel outlets on the right side as well as having 6 outlets on the unit for plugging in other appliances or electronic devices if necessary. We haven't encountered any power spikes as of yet since purchasing this unit but am counting on Tripp-Lite's reputation as a proven brand to come through and protect our refrigerator when those power spikes hit, which I know they will.
