Designed for quick, simple installation, the SRCOOL12K plugs into a standard 5-15R outlet with no adapter required. A directional exhaust duct safely removes hot air from the room. The built-in dehumidifier expels condensed water through the exhaust duct, with no need for a drain tube, drain pan or water collection tank.

I bought this product to cool our old server room. It does have an option for a window unit or a split air .
Went for this and it keeps our system running 24x7 for over 5 years.
Recently bought a couple more as a back up unit. I prefer this product that has a water outlet its more efficient and sturdier.

Works well for our needs
I have an enclosed office that has 2 air inlets, six sets of florescent lights, and no air return in a building built in 1937. There is no insulation, the thermostat for the entire floor is located outside my office, and there is a 12" drop ceiling. With the 2 servers, 2 UPS units, five PCs, networking equipment and a laser printer in the room, it gets very hot, humid & stuffy in here. This unit is set at 69¡F and is vented into the ceiling for now, and let me tell you, it has made all the difference in the cooling needs of this room and its equipment! The servers no longer scream when the outdoor temperature rises above 90.

Gets the job done
I am using this Unit for my server room. I had issues cooling it down but this puppy is getting the job done. I don't have more than a month it so I cant speak long term about this unit but so far it is serving its purpose.

We use this product in all of our small remote server rooms to properly maintain a constant temperature. This unit pretty much maintenance free and works really well for what we use it for. We have it on the list to purchase several more in next years budget.

We purchased this unit to keep our electrical room cool, during this time of the year this room reaches Temps in the 100 range.
After installing this unit and letting it run for a couple of hours it brought the temp down to a comfortable 82.

12K Cooling
I have had the unit running for a week now, very nice unit, quiet and compact design. It cools our small server closet to 70 with no issues. The digital read out is not a temp gauge, it stays at what you set it at, I had to place additional thermometer in the room to see what temp we are really at.

SRCOOL ICING UP
I'm on my second SRCOOL12K now and the first one ran for years with no issue until it died. The new one I've had for only about 6 months and it's icing up all the time. lots of space around it and vented out.
Ideas as to why this is happening? Super frustrating.

Solid unit that runs for years, super cold and quiet!
I use these AC units for all my larger racks that are not in a cooled environment. These units run extremely cold with very little noise. This recent order was to replace an older unit that was beginning to get a noisy bearing after nearly 6 years in constant use. The old unit still works and is only occasionally noisy but we replaced it for this critical infrastructure rack that is not as accessible as others. I highly recommend these AC units!

I bought this to cool a 8 X 15 computer room. 3 ESXi, 4 various Cisco routers, 2 UPS. The ambient temp of the room is about 82-83 degrees with no cooling. I added this unit, vented into the ceiling and it consistently keeps the room at 74, the temp I have it set at. It runs on Auto but I have never seen it turn up the fan speed above Slow. I am very happy to not have to deal with the room temp any longer.

Excellent unit, we use them for spot cooling at equipment, the employees really like what we have done.
The plant heats up to 100-110 degrees, with just the fans running it blows hot air.
I know what a chicken leg feels like in a air fryer!!! LOL

You gotta love Tripp Lite! It is hot now in California... Who would have thought? I worked for Tripp Lite for many years, was so excited when we got this product because every single customer I brought this to wanted to keep this, they tried it out, bought them for every single MDF and IDF locations they could... and then they ended up buying more. Now I am recommending this product for people in condominium type complexes where the the association won't allow interior/exterior a/c units. This is fully self contained, comes on rollers... what the heck else could you ask for?

FANTASTIC UNIT! LOW MAINTENANCE!
We have been looking for a unit for our small network room for a long time...and when our building recently started turning off the A/C on the weekends, we had to find something, quick!! This thing is absolutely the perfect size for our room and keeps the room and our equipment cool. The biggest draw was that it is basically maintenance free and no dumping of condensation bottles!!! My SRCOOL12K was just what I needed for my recording studio.
I needed a cooling solution for my studio to keep my studio recording equipment cool and at the proper temperature during the hot months here in AZ. I also needed something that would make me feel better about not introducing any dust from outside into my studio. And thenÃ?.. I found out about the TrippLite SRCOOL12K and after reading all about it believed I finally had found just what I needed to meet my needs and now that I've finally received it and installed it and my SRCOOL12K has turned out to be just that. It cools really fast and also filters the air to keep all my audio recording gear in my studio from even indoor dust and particles and I am very pleased that I made this purchase and I highly recommend it to others who have the same need and want to keep your expensive electronics cool, clean, and safe. Of course, I shut it off when I'm going to record vocals and audio with my studio microphone because everything has to be quiet, and I cool the room down real good first before I shut it off. But other than that, I run it when I writing and making my music. The SRCOOL12K is a great solution for me and my studio and I'm relieved. :) - CALEB -

Very happy so far!
We use it in a 7x7 enclosed room with 5 servers in it. There is also a pc, battery backup, and a switchboard in the room. It was easy to install. The included vent kit goes neatly up into the drop ceiling without issue. It has been running like a champ since it was installed. Have had running about 9 months so longevity is to be determined. Very pleased with the product so far. Easily keeps the room at our set point of 76F; even through the hot summer when the room was extra hot. Great product.

This AC unit is great for small server rooms, at a price point that leaves some room in the budget for other items! The only drawback is that the exhaust hose is not insulated, so it will radiate heat back into the room you're trying to cool. This is a problem easily rectified by some 8" insulated duct work and some duct straps.

I can attest that Tripp Lite stands behind there products! We have a unit in our IT room and inexplicably it started to drip. Both water accumulators were empty, so it was not an overflow situation. Tripp Lite helped me investigate this issue and are now sending a replacement unit! I have worked with many vendors over many years and have NEVER had any company stand behind their product like Tripp Lite!! I will be a life long customer now for sure!

A good cooling option for server rooms
We use these in some of the smaller office server rooms when we can't get dedicated unit installed. These things pretty much run 24/7 and you don't have to worry about moisture drainage. We recently had one fail for reasons unknown and because it comes with a 2 year warranty a replacement unit was sent out. It has quite a bit of versatility for server cabinets, cages and rooms where others do not. For the money its the best option in this arena.

Excellent Customer Service with prompt resolution of my issu
We had this in our server room, and it stopped cooling. I contacted Support and they had me answer some questions which I assumed would give them the info they needed to get the unit repaired for me. I was completely surprised when I received a reply that they were going to send a replacement unit with no need to return the non-working one. Now that is what I call customer service, I was very happy with the solution and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

We use this unit for an IT room in our building. It brought the room down from 90 degrees to about 77. We had to duct tape the exhaust tube that goes out of the unit because it did leak hot air into the room. But since duct taping it the room stays around 71 degrees. It's a good product, easy to install, easy too use, and it works very good.

Died in 2 months Tripp Lite unable to honor warranty
Unit died in 2 months (hot side fan exploded - common problem for these units). I contacted Tripp Lite for warranty support but they have been unable to send a replacement unit - every week the shipping date for the replacement slips by a week. I have completely lost faith in Tripp Lite's ability to honor their warranty. Avoid dealing with them at all costs - they offer inferior products and do not honor their warranty.

We use this in our IT room, we actually have 2 of them to keep up with our needs. Both have been in use for a few months now, without any issues. They are on 24/7, cycling off and on to hold the set temperature at a steady level.
Setup was very simple and was completed in about 10 mins, had to cut the mounting bracket to fit the ceiling tiles, but other than that was plug it in and turn on. Very satisfied with these units.

We use this unit to cool our servers room. Good product when works. This is our third unit. Poor product quality, not serviceable. Shortly after two years limited warranty expire the unit will fail and you out of options but to purchase a new one. It happened to us twice. No service at all!

We have have this Mini AC unit stationed in a small server room with some servers and other IT equipment. We are here in Florida and one of the walls in the room gets direct sunlight throughout the day. The walls are concrete and there isn't enough airflow in that room so we opted for your SRCOOL12K unit. This is the 1st time I have used one of these.We have been able to keep this room about 72 degrees just fine. I really like that you have the option of running a drain hose out from the unit or using its included kit to run the exhaust duct up into one of the ceiling tiles to port the excess water through the exhaust instead. We literally didn't have to cut any hole in the wall to run a drainage. This I like a lot and also the fact that I had it all unboxed and running in like 20min.

Tripp-Lite is probably one of a handful of companies left in this world that stand behind their product. They backed their product with a 2 year warranty. When the original purchased Portable AC was having issues, Tripp-Lite's Support Center moved very quickly in making certain that we were back up and running. Within a couple of days, they had sent us a new unit, with excellent instructions, for returning the old unit to them. These units are the defense of any Server Room or Closet. We have purchased several AC Units for multiple server rooms in the construction industry for hospitals, retail, and multi-story commercial builds. Tripp-Lite's product is superior, and their staff is on top of their game!

Perfect for my needs
This is an outstanding AC! The Veterans Administration purchased this for me to help me regulate overheating health issues. Very portable, EASY to set up and use. Perfect for my apartment since I can't install one in the window.

Good Equipment, but .....
We use 3 of these as supplemental cooling for a small Server room, they do a good job, but we have replaced three of them (first Generation) . they stop working after 12-16 months of continuous running. Hoping for improvements in durability with Gen 2!e

I just bought an SRCOOL12K with the SRCOOLNET and the EnviroSense probe to replace a ersidential portable AC that was "ducted" into our fully enclosed rack. By "ducted" I mean duct tape and dryer vent shoved into places.
The SRCOOL12K has real ductwork for both the exhaust and the supply, so piping it directly to the enclosure was easy.
The SRCOOLNET gave me fits out of the box, but a quick call to TrippLite customer service (US based and English speaking I might add!) and they had me up and running in less than 30 minutes.
The only thing I need to get used to is the unit beeping when the probe directs it to change temperature
EDIT:
Had issues with the Envirosence probe, but TrippLite support quickly replaced it.

For the price these AC units have been fantastic. I'm working with a small room, and no budget for dedicated air. The alternative was to leave the door open, which was loud as well as insecure. I'm running two of these and have not had any big issues. When power is lost, they retain their settings, and don't take too long to start cooling again when power is back. My only problem was that the provided hose is very thin and let off a lot of heat (so much it hurt to touch), as well as not fitting well in the ceiling/window adapter. I got around this by building a pipe from 4" PVC and wrapping it in water heater insulation. I didn't knock any stars though since I know that's probably how I got the unit cheap. Again, overall happy.

I'm using these in three different server rooms and they work well. This isn't a cheap alternative to a real AC unit in a big server room but for a small closet it's perfect. Just remember to set your calendar to remind you to clean the filter about 3 or 4 times per year and if you live in a high humidity area you need to have some way to drain the condensation. Love it!

Compact package and good performance
This is a purpose built unit. Very easy to setup and target direct cooling to an area. Not gonna cool a whole room but awesome as an instant solution and so far quality is good

Great for a small data room
We're in a 100 year old building that we (hope) will be moving out of in the next 2 years so we've been cooling our two racks of servers and switches with similar units that we got from Lowe's. They would last about a year or so, and we needed three to keep the machines happy. When two of them died on schedule we saw that Tripp Lite made a version and jumped on them and couldn't be happier. The two do the job that three did before and better, down 10F from what we had before. Now that summer weather is here we're replacing the last old unit for another Tripp Lite just so we have back-up and to keep the server room the nicest place to be in the summer.
These are designed for a server room, just like all Tripp Lite products. Big LED intake temp display, easy to understand buttons. Well worth the cost if you can't put in a real cooling system or just need to cool down a hot spot in the racks.

This product met my needs
I have an 8x24' office where I have 4 servers and other equipment rack mounted. The temperature was consistently over 83*F. I installed the SRCOOL12K near the rack and exhausted it through the drop ceiling to an open shop area. The temp now is 74*F. Plus I notice a difference in air quality. Great product

Makes a huge difference in temperature & humidity!
I share my office with the servers -- the space constraints of a small Library are handled this way -- so it stays pretty warm & humid. Located in a building built in 1937, insulation was never considered and IT needs are an afterthought, so this A/C unit fits the bill perfectly!

Excellent spot cooler
Set this up in a small IT closet. Does a fantastic job cooling, much better than any "consumer" grade unit would do. Easy to set up and very reliable. Moves a lot of air and provides a lot of cooling. Would certainly buy this again.

Purchased to use in small server room
Easy to install, vented thru ceiling panel, set the temperature and has worked flawlessly. Keeps our equipment nice and cool. The only required maintenance is to clean the easy off air screen (filter) every so often. Totally recommend for this use!

Good for the cost. Nice for small network closets.
We've had this running in a wiring closet with a Cisco 4507 and some other smaller Cisco gear. Was an easy installation and haven't really had any issues. When we first brought it online we didn't have the drain plug in all the way so we had water on the floor but after pushing that in all the way the condensate just gets pushed out with the exhaust air. Thinking about getting its big brother for a small server room in a place that won't work for a split system.

Just what we needed!
It seems like we have the air conditioning go out about once a month and it usually takes two days or longer to get it working again. This Tripp-Lite Portable Air Conditioning keeps my computer room temperature where it needs to be and saves the servers! It's easy to use and operate. I now leave it running all weekend when I am not here to monitor the temp in the computer room. I HIGHLY recommend this unit and I wish I had gotten it two years ago!

Great product backed by great support
Un-boxed and running in 30 minutes. Like many that have posted reviews here, our "server" room was really not designed to house lots of heat-generating equipment.
Prior to the Tripplite AC, the server room would hit 88 degrees on any given day. We set the set point at 72 and the AC has been running fine.
We are still trying to get the SRCOOLNET configured. Implementing that has not been as straightforward as the AC was.

Got it yesterday and used it only for a day in our server room, but I am impressed with its cooling power, relatively low noise, professionally looking device. In our tall IT room, temperature was around 91 and the A/C dropped it to 79. I have couple other Tripp Lite devices, they all works fine.

Efficient little cooler
I use this for auxiliary cooling for a server / network rack. Pulls much more moisture from the air than my previous AC unit from another manufacturer and at a significantly smaller footprint as well. Very impressed with the unit so far.

Unreliable
Worked for about 30 hours of non-continuous use, then the compressor failed. Tech support was friendly, but can offer only replacement, not refund. Replacement requires the buyer to haul the new unit around, pack up the old unit and arrange for return shipping (paid for by Tripp Lite). This has cost me a lot of time and trouble and I'm very dissatisfied with this product. Plus, Tripp Lite deleted my negative but honest review on their own website.

Product arrived quickly and actually had great packaging. Easy to get unpacked and set up. System works very well, and is quiet for the output it has. Included long enough discharge to reach ceiling vent, plus included hose to direct to rack if needed. Just what I needed!

Basic server room cooler, excellent
This unit replaced a DeLonghi Penguino designed for home use. Its BTU rating is lower, but it performs better. We don't need to drain it nearly as often, and its vent fixtures are useful & appropriate.

I have a small server room that was running very hot in the middle of a building. Closet was heated by 7 physical servers EMC san and all the trimmings. The room with door open and fans running would easy top 90.
This little cooler will drop it to low 70's in a short period of time. That being said the vent attachments may as well be pitched as they are totally useless. Biggest problem is you have thin plastic flex tubing that connects to ceiling mount that will not stay together. And tubing screws into back of the cooler. Well the minute you turn it on and it starts to heat up it will not stay connected. About a half pound of gator tape later and it seems to be holding.
I have only run the cooler for a couple of days and so far so good but I can't really speak on reliability. I will find out soon as this will run 24x7. Overall, it does its job but an addition 5 minutes of thinking could have made the venting situation much better.

Keep Stuff Cool
After struggling to keep our 8x4 server room cool (even when below freezing outside) we did our research and ended up with a SRCOOL12K and have never looked back. We have had it operational since 7/12 and it has been keeping our room at a nominal 68-70 degrees around the clock with no intervention whatsoever. Highly recommend if you need cooling in a small server room. Easy setup.

We purchased this portable unit as a supplemental A/C to our small Data Center's main unit. As we grew we realized we had out grown the cooling capacity of our main above ceiling mounted Leibert unit. This was the perfect unit to keep our DC cool during the summer months.
It was really easy to setup and really does a great job of supplementing our main unit. It's quiet and programmable so that it's not cooling when not needed. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a portable AC solution. Great product.

Don't overload
This unit works very well indeed, but if the room you're trying to cool is too large or too hot, the unit might shutdown. If it cannot dissipate enough heat through the exhaust tube, it will stop cooling. There's a limit to what 12k can cool.

Quick response on problems has been impressive.

Great backup AC in our data center
We bought 2 of these units to act as a backup to our data center when the main unit freezes (mainly in the winter). I really like that these units don't require a condensate drain. That made installing them really easy. I will likely buy another 1-2 for our offsite data center.

Be Wary of Poor Quality
Just after one year warranty expired, several of the blades in the cheaply designed and built light plastic fan broke off, causing it to be out of balance and therefore severely vibrate. Contacted Tripp-Lite to replace the fan and they do NOT sell replacement parts for this! Several on-line reviewers experienced this exact same issue.

Best cooling rack!!
Great for tight spaces where air circulation could be an issue. Have had some devices go offline due to overheating issues. Since I installed this, not only has my gear stayed online but has cooled the entirety of the space it is in. Won't regret this purchase!

We wish we purchased this sooner.... We invested a lot of time and effort on modifying our HVAC to draw air from our server closet. This unit works very well and helps heat the office in the winter and we have the exhaust discharged outside for the summer.

Failed after 10 months
Great price but failing less than 1 year is unacceptable. Hopefully the replacement unit lasts longer. I realize some will fail early while others may last years. Crossing my fingers and installing a temp controlled vent fan for the small server room that this unit cools in case of failure.

Great product, would recommend it to anyone wanting extra cooling.
We were able to move our server into a closet allowing room for an extra work station. Easy to install with the exhaust through the wall to the shop.

Great product. Works like a champ!
We've tried several spot coolers over time, some residential grade and some commercial grade from reputable reseller chains. We use it to cool down a small computer room (one server rack and one neworking devices rack).
Installing and operating this device is simple and sraight forward. It's been working for a year now non-stop and we've had no problem with it whatsoever.
Greatly recommend.

We added this unit to our small IT Room to help keep the room cool. It was easy to install and installing the ceiling vent was also very easy. It turned on and after the 3 minute warm up was pushing out ice cold air. has been running on high for 2 weeks now without an issue and still very cold.

I purchased a Portable AC Unit early in 2022 from a 3rd party vendor. Only 4 months later the unit quit cooling. To my surprise, when I called Tripp-Lite, they just sent me a new unit without any hassle. While I was disappointed with my first unit the new one is working great. Customer service definitely gets 5+ starts

Just installed this unit about a week ago. Beyond pleased with the results. I was a bit worried about the performance for the price. Really though, if you're in the market for an A/C unit, I would seriously look into this unit. Not having the run a water line to drain made the installation quick and easy.

Good AC unit for cooling a rack.
This Tripplite portable AC worked out really well to cool a rack in an electrical room with poor ventilation. Originally I had difficulty with condensate shutting down the AC every day if the tank wasn't drained two times/day. Tripplite support suggested routing the exhaust duct differently to get rid of sharp 90 degree bends. This resolved the condensate issue completely and the tank no longer needs to be drained at all. A good feature that I've found is that the unit will start up on it's own when power is restored after a power outage. I don't have any negatives to add.
