Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes, I both recommend and plan to buy again as needed. This is a surge protector first and an additional outlet plus 2 USB chargers. I would prefer that there be a center anchor screw provision through the body of the outlet to the screw-hole of the wall faceplate to securely anchor the device. The quality of the product is as always, appears great but that's appearance and feel, for now, performance over time later.

The original on had something happen that it would not provide the surge protection. I contacted the company and they sent a new one with no questions. Very happy!

I have changed out all of my surge protectors to Tripp-Lite because they stand behind their products with a LifeTime guarantee and insurance protection if I would lose any of my electronics due to a power surge. I found out most of the other products that I was using did not protect my electronics. After I had a power surge that took out about $1300 in electronics in my house.

And that any product I have that is plugged into it and is not due to user error or other outlying issue is covered up to $5000 per the warranty.

We protect all of TV's, Blue Ray players etc. that are stationary, but a lot of us take the chance of charging our mobile devices during thunder storms while we sleep. This device attaches to any double duplex receptacle and protects your charging phones, mobile devices from power spikes. Now granted, it is ugly as a toad against a light colored wall, but in the right place, it can have a high-tech appearance. Its hard to say how good it works as I hope to not have my phones on the receiving end of a power surge, but like home owners insurance, it gives you peace of mind.

The three electrical outlets are ideal. However, be aware that the three electrical outlets are quite close together which can reduce the number of plugs you can actually use at any one time to two. This outlet proctor also has a green light on the top to indicate it is plugged in and working-a handy night light.

The green status light is a mixed blessing, not as bright as other similarly designed surge protectors but bright enough to be distracting in a home theater setup. But a small strip of electrical tape can cover nicely and matches the black body of the unit.

Note that it no longer has a hole for a locking screw, but that is generally not needed. Depending on their plug size only two devices may fit as the outlet spacing is tight.

So far all is well a very nice protector with a plus of having a couple of usb ports. She uses one to charge her phone and the other to charge her tablet. I read some reviews that stated the green led at the top was very bright and bothers some people, we have not found the light to be a problem for us, plainly its just not all that bright. Would purchase another if the need arises and the name Tripp Lite is synonymous with quality.

I am using my new 3-Outlet Surge Protector to protect my new indoor garden, with transplanted tomato plants, and have the added benefit of USB chargers for my cell phone and tablets. New tomatoes are popping up again. Since I have my garden in the kitchen, I can also use the outlet for plugging in my hot tray without unplugging my garden.

I have an older home that has the old metal wall switch boxes I tried installing a competitors version of AC switch unfortunately it was a tight fit and the electrical screws in the back made contact with the metal part of the wall box, you guessed it... instant fire. This unit was a natural solution to the problem I was having I liked it so well I ordered two more for other places at our house. Very pleased with this product and the quality of the build. Take this from someone who never writes reviews on anything. It's great!

Not only do they they look and possess USB recharge outlets, they perform extremely well so you don't need a larger, cumbersome, space-occupying strip surge protector. Prior to employing them in our home, we lost 2 Keurig Coffee Makers due to power surges. Since implementing them over the past month, we have not lost an appliance despite numerous power surges. Please note: Should they fail, you are insured lifetime for as much as $5000 per surge protector. Though we have circuit breakers along with protective wall outlets with resets, all appliances are backed up by Tripp-Lite Surge Protectors.

I choose this one with the new wall mount and it fit perfectly. I am going to buy a few more of these to use around the house where we charge smartphones and iPads. Would recommend this product.
