Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed and getting worse. Slow performance paired with poor mobile app. Vendor has pulled back features (one mesh). Check the TP-link support forums before purchasing. Other customers are more an more unhappy by the day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beware! One star only because zero is not an option. This was a disastrous purchase. Our needs are not elaborate -- our house is small (one-story, 1400 square feet); we don't do a lot of streaming and never do online gaming. So it's just a desktop (connected via ethernet) a couple of laptops, a wireless printer, and a networked music server. When we set the AX3000 up, our network became unusable. The wireless keyboard on the desktop was uncontrollable because of interference. Then one by one the various devices on the network began disappearing from the net and then sometimes re-appearing, then becoming inaccessible again at unpredictable intervals, all the while being shown as connected in the DHCP client list on the administrative web-site. We tried tweeking various wireless settings (I do some sysadmin work so I'm not ignorant), but each tweek made things worse. Technical support from TP-Link was hopeless (upgrade firmware, move devices ... ) So we decided that there must be something wrong with the particular unit we had been sent, returned it to Dell, and got a replacement. Exactly the same problems appeared again . We restored our old router (a TP-Link Archer C7 from 2018) and all problems disappeared -- our modest little domain is working great again. There is something about the AX3000 which can cause it to play havoc with some very undemanding home-network setups.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable, easy to use and fast router Overall extremely pleased with this router. It manages to get about 900mbit up and down from my gbps fiber connection, which is basically full speed after overheads. My only complaint is the fact the VPN server does not support L2TP as stated in the description, only PPTP and OpenVPN. The Wifi is also excellent both in range and speed. And this is one of the few routers currently available (as of May 2020 which support the new Wifi 6 / AX protocols at a reasonable price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small spaces and for price For an affordable dual band router, this was a great upgrade. We're consistently getting download and upload speeds that are twice as fast as our 5-year-old tri-band Netgear router, and even with one less antenna, the issues with devices with being dropped from the network or connectivity crawling to a snails pace because the network gets overwhelmed have virtually disappeared. Now, we are two people living in a 2-bedroom apartment with gig internet via fiber in a well-connected urban area. We both work from home and have had several meetings with six people using the home's connection all at once, and the router has handled all that capably. I've been able to have video calls while five people are working in the kitchen, no problem. However, we've noticed a significant drop-off in signal strength in the bedroom, so I imagine this router would be unsuitable for a larger space (honestly, it wasn't designed for that. But for getting into 6th-gen internet for under $130, you'd be hard-pressed to do better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TP-Link router is fantastic Very easy to set up and does what it's supposed to do in maintaining wireless signals throughout my two-story house. Previous router woefully out of date and was getting dropped signals all the time. Small footprint so I can put it on my desk. This router kept appearing on "best of" lists and "best values." Performs as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY THIS The router was unusable. It dropped connection constantly. I sent it back. No one from TP link helps. My internet company said it was the router. Avoid this one.
